Very bright and lovely flat on the 5th floor of a "haussmannien" building, with an elevator. It's a typical parisian flat with a chimney, parquet...
There's a living room with the chimney, a sofa and a corner where you can eat (with a table).
In the bedroom, there's the bed (160*200) and two wardrobes.
The kitchen is equipped (toaster, cupboards, coffee maker, etc.)
Toilets are separated.
The flat is 5 minutes away from the subway (métro la Chappelle line 2 and Max Dormoy 12) and 15 minutes away by walk from the gare du Nord and gare de l'Est, in a working-class neighborhood.
It's 2 stations away from the Sacré Coeur and 1 station away for the “canal de l’Ourq”, the very relaxing canal and its fashion but relaxing cafés.
You will find a lot of nice places to hang out (restaurants, bars, pub, movie theater, concert hall, theatre) and to shop around, the market of le marché de l'Olive where you wan buy french cheese, wine, bread....
there's a Monoprix rue Philippe de Girard (about 5 minutes away)
Picard 27 rue de la Chapelle (only frozen food, but tasty)
there's a market place de l'Olive if you want to buy some cheese, wine etc.
Backery: Bichon, 21 rue Philippe de Girard
take the subway (line 2) untill the station Anvers to go to the Sacré Coeur.
The line 12 will bring you directly to "place de la Concorde", not far away from the Champs Elysées and the line 4 goes to Notre Dame, Saint Germain des Prés, Chatelet/Le Marais. The line 5 goes to République and Bastille.
I let you a map from Paris and you can check on the website (email hidden) which subway or bus you can take.
There are some good restaurants not far away from the flat:
2 of them are place de l'Olive
"Les routiers" 50 bis rue Max Dormoy (traditional french food)
"La table d'Eugène" (expensive but good) and a pizzeria "La Pulcinella" rue Eugène Süe (you have to walk 15 minutes or take the line 12 till Jules Joffrin).
Le Canal Saint-Martin is not far away (about 20 minutes) and there are plenty of bars there.

Laure was a super nice host and we can full heartedly recommend her beautiful apartment. Thanks, Laure!
We stayed at Laure's for 9 nights (kinda honeymoon?). To echo other reviews, the apartment is cute, cozy and clean. Laure had a cleaner come a few hours before we 'checked in'. The apartment is perfect for two (maybe 3) people. The bed is really comfortable. The building is quiet, and has an elevator fine for two people, awkward for three. The apartment has a nice little balcony that says "You're in Paris" whenever you look outside. The kitchen has almost everything you need (oven, dishes, salt, pepper, oil, but no microwave). We made breakfast every morning, and dinner on a number of nights. A nice apartment to hang out in. Plenty of grocery stores and bakeries in the area. A few people have said that it's not the best neighborhood (18th arr.), but we never felt unsafe. It's just not smack dab in the middle of things. Not in the outskirts either. I spent hours looking through Paris apartments, and settled on Laure's because of the look and the price. It was our first trip to Paris, so I had reservations about the location, fearing it would be too far away from "everything." It wasn't. The location is fine. (No matter where you stay, you'll be close to some things, and far away from some things.) The subway (La Chapelle) is three minutes away. Montmartre and Sacre Coeur are within walking distance (10-15 minutes). Laure has a bowl of maps and guide books available. So no worries if you come unprepared! Laure was really helpful, and quick to answer emails. She called us a taxi on our last day; We had a backup plan, in case we got locked out; etc. Thank you again, Laure!
Highly recommended. I would stay there again.
This flat was absolutely perfect for what we wanted! We wanted a cozy flat that had a little kitchen, was close to a grocery store as well as the Train Station & Metro stops. The flat is comfortably decorated with a antique yet modern feel. Laure was wonderful -- We had to call her with a question and she was so sweet to answer quickly! While the apartment isn't in the prettiest area, Laure let us know that up-front as we were staying there for our Honeymoon. Our stay was wonderful! Laure is so hospitable! For the price and the ease of getting around, I would highly recommend staying at this flat!
Lovely stay at Laure's. Her place is definitely not in the hottest part of town but it's right near major train stations and is a great neighborhood for Indian eats. The apartment is small (but so is every apt in Paris) and tall folks should watch out for the chandelier/light in the living room but the rooms are well-lit and comfortable. Kitchen is kept in excellent condition and allows for some basic cooking for those who are a bit more home-bound. The no-shoes policy was great for us since we're no-shoes folks ourselves and it just meant we knew the apt was that much cleaner and well-kept. Great place to spend a restful few days in Paris!
We had a great 5 night stay at Laure's cute and cozy place. She responded adequate and with useful information. She warned us in advance that 2 close metro stations were closed and gave us good advice about other possibilities so that we weren't taken by surprise. Even though the apartment isn't in the most beautiful area, it's very close to Gare du Nord and it's certainly one of the best decorated places for in this price range.
Laure’s flat is cosy, very nicely furnished and it has all you need for a short break in Paris. The kitchen is fully equipped, the flat has wi-fi connection and Laure gave us a Lonely Planet guide in English that we have used during our stay in Paris. La Chapelle tube station is nearby (even though it was closed until the 2nd of Sept), and there are other two tube stations walking distance as well. The location is also very convenient if you come by Eurostar as Gare du Nord station is 15 minutes walking distance. Overall definitely recommended.
We stayed 6 nights at Laure's apartment. It is exactly as you see it in the pictures, really charming, with lots of character and good quality furniture. It has enough room for two people to stay comfortably. From the pictures it looks like she has a futon but it is a very comfortable bed. We had a great nights sleep. The kitchen is beautifully renovated although we only used it for making breakfasts. Laure is a lovely person and a great host. She was very quick with her correspondence and very helpful with even accommodating special requests. The area of town is probably not the most picturesque part of Paris to walk around at night but we never felt unsafe. Her apartment is walkable distance from a few different subway lines which came handy when sightseeing.
Laure's flat is exactly the same as pictured, parisian, spotless and well-ordered. we love her kitchen the most. it is totally a 5-star kitchen. we really enjoyed staying at her flat.
before we arrived, laure emailed us and prepared everything for us in advance because she was not in town. she is really nice although we didnt have a chance to meet in person. in case we couldnt get the key from the fd in the building, laure also arranged her fds to give us the key, or else we would be homeless for that night.
the location is closed to Chapelle metro but unfortunately the metro was closed for a certain period so we had to walk to another metro. and the building is having a renovation while we stayed there, but there wasnt much trouble caused by that. but i got the feeling that the area (18e Arr) is not very safe at night, esp on the street and on our way home. so i dont recommend walking on the street at night.
overall, the stay in laure's is very pleasant.
We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful place and loved it a lot. Laure was very nice and helpful with everything. The Place is even better located than Montmartre because the next Métro is "Chapelle" , which is directly connected to Gare du Nord from where you reach the Airport (CDG) in 25 minutes.
We stayed one weekend in Laure's apartment and it was really great!
It was a very charming and spacious apartment (for the Parisian standards ;) ), on a central location: we could walk to Montmartre and for the rest we took the subway around the corner.
Laure provided us with everything we needed such as towels, bedlinen and kitchen tools, and also left some guides, which turned out pretty handy!
The communication was good, there were no misunderstandings and Laure also helps with all your questions, so she's pretty much everything you want from a hostess and more!
