OCEANFRONT Apartment 801 on the 8th floor at the Alexander Resort in Miami Beach is a large 1200 sq. ft, 2-bedroom 2-bathroom signature luxury suite with 20-foot balcony facing south ocean beach view.

This apartment features luxury in every way. Huge kitchen with wood cabinets and granite counters and spacious dining area with seating for 8. Bedrooms sleep 6 with oversize beds and highest quality plush mattresses. Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, there is a full-size bed and twin in Guest Bedroom, and a sofa sleeper in the living room. The master bathroom features a walk-in shower as well as oversize tub with ocean views and plenty of counterpaces. You will enjoy the magnificent views from the living room and bedrooms, facing the beach with views of the ocean yards away.

  • 1501 was great, exactly as described in the post. Big open living room, large dining table, great kitchen and everything was very clean. We stayed there with a group of 8 guys for a bachelor party and had more than enough space. The couch in the living room is a futon, there are 3 twin beds on the first bed room and a king and double in the master. The view from the huge main balcony over the ocean is beautiful and you have a nice little view of the sunset over the bay from the side balcony. The Alexander is a fine hotel, nothing super modern and fancy but has a nice old world charm. The location is obviously north of south beach but the cabs were quick and were only about $15-20. We always walked to the street and called them our self and only took a minute or two each time. The main pool still did not work when we were there even though Mark told us it was and the hotel told us it would be by the time we got there. It looked like it should be done but people have been saying that for months so just don't count on it! All in all it was a great stay and without a doubt one of the best deals in Miami. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

  • We stayed at 1501 Alexander Resort in March 2014 during WMC/Ultra and had a great time. The unit was very spacious & clean with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a massive living room, and two separate balconies with amazing views. The unit was provided with free wi-fi, and TV with cable. There was also a full kitchen with everything you need, and having a dishwasher was great too. The only thing that wasn't working for us during our stay was the jacuzzi in the master bathroom which was out of order.

    We didn't use many of the building amenities during our stay so I can't really comment on those. The beach is only minutes away by walk.

    Alexander resort is pretty close to LIV nightclub & a few other hotel bar/restaurants. You will probably need to take cabs/shuttle buses if traveling into South Beach or Biscayne.

    Mark was a great host, and was always very prompt with his responses by e-mail.

    Overall, we had a great time during our stay! I would stay here again & recommend this to my friends & family.

  • I am only writing this to share with everyone our experience staying in Alexander Hotel in Mark's private apartment. Let me start off by saying that the apartment's description is by all means manipulating and false.
    1- Description says apartment has both ocean and bay view - WRONG - The apt only has bay view and does not look the ocean in any way.
    2- Description says valet parking is free for reservations of more than 7 days (We had the apt reserved for 17 nights) yet, we paid $272 for valet parking while checking out and when i told the decent receptionist about the deal we had, she said that i had to pay the full amount and then contact Mark and only then he can pay us back. Ofcourse when we called him, he said he has never heard about that and that he had to check and get back to us.
    3- Description says that the hotel has 2 pools, upon arrival we found out that only one pool was operating and the second was under construction.
    4- On a couple of occasions, we would be sitting in the flat we RENTED and we would find the apt's door opening and Mark walking in. Now where is our privacy not SURE.
    5- The safe was broken and we had valuables all over the flat, without notifying us Mark has personally stated that he had sent inspection to our flat. Again not sure if that was the right thing to do. We should have at least been notified.
    6- Mark stated that he has taken pictures of us smoking in the apartment, does that mean he sneaked in and took pictures of us?
    7- I am aware that all the reviews claim that Mark is such a hospitable and a nice person, however, we have only seen Mark on our 4th day accidentally on the beach and we went through the entire checking in process by ourselves.
    8- I am not sure if i am bit sensitive but as a group we all agreed that Mark was rather rude to us and was not welcoming whatsoever.
    9- The A/C was broke and leaked for almost 8 days non-stop, we tried contacting the owner several times and always got the answer that he was away in NYC.
    10- When speaking to Mark about the cleanliness of the apartment, he replied and i quote "Maybe that is clean where you come from" - Mind you Mark is an Israeli Jew and we are Muslim Egyptians. Not sure if that is insulting enough for you guys.
    11- We did not have any access to the hotel amenities as the apt was privately rented and thus, we could not order food or get any cleaning services. Didn't even have phone access to the reception.
    12- Mark is claiming over the $500 deposit fees for breaking the house rules by smoking in the BALCONY. I am questioning the convenience and honesty doing that.

  • My friends and I stayed at the Alexander in March and the property is absolutely beautiful. The condo is exactly as pictured. Fantastic view of bay and ocean. Mark was fantastic and provided me with all the information I needed and answered all of my many questions. I would highly recommend this property. Sleeps 8 people very comfortably!!

  • We were 8 women staying in Miami for a bachelorette weekend and we all loved the place, felt very comfortable and had plenty of space for all of us. We had a great weekend and enjoyed both the beach and the pool.

  • We were a group of 7 people who rented this place. The place is very nice and the view was amazing. It was very clean. The check in system is very comfortable as it is a private condo in a hotel. Extra linen, towels etc were also provided to us. This place is away from the South Beach which is the main area but that did not hinder our holiday as we had a car.

    Mark has been very responsive to emails and has responded to all questions very promptly.

  • Overall we had a good experience at the Alexander! We were 8 girls visiting from New York for 6 nights.
    The facilities of the Alexander were fine but did have some issues. Only one of the two pools was open because the other one was under construction. The pool was small and always full and we didn't use it. The beach was also fine. The hotel provided free chairs for the beach which was nice but we ended up going down to south beach more which was just a nicer beach. The gym was also quite limited and we didn't use the other amenities such as the restaurant or the jacuzzis. It also often took very long for cabs to arrive and calling down in advance wasn't really an option because if you weren't at the front right when the cab arrived, it would leave. We also had a strange experience on our first day where a random couple was given keys to our room from the front desk and walked into the room. We eventually got this figured out and all the keys were reset. Also only one of the burners on the stove was useable because two did not work and one was very dirty and emitted smoke whenever it was on.
    Otherwise, it was a good size for the 8 of us. We were all able to sit together to eat and hang out in the living area together, not stepping on each other toes. Great view and was nice to have the balcony! We were also impressed with the kitchen supplies which were very complete and we stocked up on breakfast food and snacks the first day which we stocked in the well-sized fridges and pantries. Personally, I liked that the location was a little away from the main strip of restaurants, bars, nightlife. It was nice to be able to go home away from all that at the end of the day/night. It was a little annoying however to rely on cabs so much which as I mentioned often took very long. The owner was also very prompt in responding to me prior to our trip which was much appreciated!
