This gorgeous and intimate Guest House is located right at the beach in the gated community of Ocean Park, only 10 minutes away from the Historical Old San Juan and the airport.
The Dreamcatcher is thoughtfully decorated with mostly vintage furniture and collectibles. The house holds beauty and memories alike, every corner tells a story. The Dreamcatcher is a true oasis with many areas to find privacy as well as to come together with other guests and friends.
The common areas consist of a dining room, two lounging areas with rocking chairs and hammocks. A spacious living room that opens to the garden as well as a fully equipped Communal Kitchen. The garden is protected by dozens of Buddha’s, which quietly sit among the fruit trees, the water fountain and in between the flowers. In addition there is an edible garden in the front of the house with fruits, vegetables and herbs, where guests are welcome to help themselves.
Every room is decorated with a Dreamcatcher to protect your sleep and entice sweet dreams.
We have very loving and talented massage therapist that will come to the house.
There are some teachers that will come to teach yoga at night time and we gather around the lemon tree in the garden. Classes are subject to weather and will be posted on the easel in the lounge. All classes are by suggested donation.
Frequently we organize Salsa Classes at the House. Private Dance classes (various styles) can be arranged.
Few times a month dinner parties are planned, usually accompanied of local musicians, called bohemias. These are gatherings where street musicians come together to play latin classics.

We offer freshly pressed vegetable & fruit juices as well as home-grown kombucha for $8 a drink.
We are happy to do a load of laundry for you. Each load is $12.00.

Interaction with Guests
We live on premise and are more than happy to assist and answer your questions!
This beautiful neighborhood of Ocean Park is one of the very few areas in San Juan where you find direct access to the beach without having High Rises surrounding you.
All in walking distance you have cozy cafes, amazing restaurants, fresh fruit stands, a yoga studio, a farmer’s market, grocery stores, boutiques, surf shops, hair- and beauty salons, only to name a few..
It is a very safe neighborhood and from our house it's only a 10 minute walk to Condado and Isla Verde, both highly touristic areas packed with even more restaurants, spas and shops. The Historical Old San Juan is a 10 minutes car ride and so is the airport.
Staying in Ocean Park, you will enjoy more of a local flair than a mass tourism experience. We at the Dreamcatcher Guest House have made a map of the area with our recommendations for your convenience.
The beach is a 2 minute walk
The airport and Old San Juan is a 10 min. taxi ride
Condado is a 10 minute walk
We offer Shuttle Services and Airport Drop Offs with our 6 Passenger Dreamcatcher Van.
First of all we want to say that we are very happy to host and assist you in anything you might need.
Pippa and Malda are very well behaved dogs, they love people and they want to love you and get loved in return. We understand that not everyone is comfortable with dogs, if you need space from them, you can tell them, just speak to them clearly or come and speak with us.
Please DO NOT feed them as they will try to manipulate you in many different ways, but do not give in to their charms, to their sad eyes, or pretty faces. They have their food and we do not want beggar dogs around the house. The dogs are not just in the house to serve as companions, they also protect us, they will bark on occasion if there is commotion, or a stranger at the door. Please excuse any late night barking, just know it keeps everyone safe.
10pm – 8am
Please take a note where all the rooms are located so you can be mindful of not creating any noise near them.
BOOKS AT THE DREAMCATCHER
All the books in the house are for everyone to enjoy, please do not take them with you. Some of these books have been in our family for years and are precious memories. If there is one particular book you really like, talk to Sylvia regarding a possible Book Exchange :)
Things break, it is okay. Just let us know, we promise not to be upset.
The products in the communal showers are not communal, please bring your own. We have soap for you in the room.
HELP US TO KEEP THE HOUSE CLEAN
SAND=THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE
It is hard to keep the sand out. We clean everyday so everyone can enjoy a clean house. We beg you to clear off the sand in the outdoor shower before you come in. Do not bring sandy towels in, there is a rack near the kitchen for drying beach towels. You can shake them in the grass to get the excess sand off. Please do whatever you can to keep the sand on the Beach and not in the house.
Please note that if you leave anything drying on the rack overnight, it will get wet, as it rains almost every night.
Coffee and Tee is on us.
There are spices and seasonings, oils and dressings for everyone to use and you are also welcome to add to the shelves, it’s good karma, especially if it is olive oil :O)
We keep our kitchen Pescetarian: MEAT=NO! FISH=OK!
If you however feel like having meat you can prepare your meal on our BBQ grill in the garden. I know this is obvious, but please do your dishes….and also once they are dry, put them away. The fridge….there are shelves for each room. I you don't want your food to be eaten by other guests, please store your things in the shelf assigned to you. If you spill it, clean it.
Before you leave, please throw away what you did not use and make space for the people that arrive after you. If there is something you want to leave behind for other guests, let us know and we will take care of it. Another point for your good karma!
What a perfect retreat for two vegan artists! Sylvia and Stephan have a beautiful, sacred space that is cherished and cradled with such love and warmth. The photos and reviews here all embody the spirit of the Dream Catcher. I have no other words -- it was truly magnificent and special. We will be back!
This place is amazing!!
My girlfriend and I loved it.
You can literally call it home.
Sylvia prepared this amazing map on where to go around the dreamcatcher which was very useful. The staff is really friendly and always ready to help.
Rooms were clean, breakfast was great. Its a 1 minute walk to the beach.
I recommend this place and would definetly go back again if I ever visit puerto rico again.
Thank you Dreamcatcher !
I will not talk about the magic map. Most reviewers have already talked about it, and it is indeed as awesome as others have claimed. In addition the breakfast is an absolutely brilliant. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfy. The only tricky bit is trying to find the place.
The neighborhood is a bit run down. But personally I liked it. I had been staying in Isla Verde and the everything was overly touristy. You might as well be in any other hotel resort in any other part of the world.
This neighborhood had better restaurants. And though a bit run down, it seemed quite safe. The food was cheap and excellent. All in all, I wish I could have stayed longer.
I actually did not stay in on of Dreamcatcher's Grand Suites because we got an upgrade! I'm not sure what our room was called, but it was a large 1 bedroom with a private upstairs balcony that over looked one of the beautiful common areas. The balcony included a private restroom and shower.
There's not a whole lot for me to add to whatever one else has said about the Dreamcatcher. If you want to really get away from everything but still be close to great restaurants and be close and the beach (which is literally a block away!), this is perfect. Despite being in a fairly busy part of town, as soon as you step into the Dreamcatcher it feels like you're miles away from everything. The common areas, both inside and out, are beautifully curated and designed. The vegetarian breakfast/brunch from Chef Jerome (8AM-12PM) was delicious each time we ate with him, and really reasonably priced for what you get (1 course = $9, 3 course=$15). My wife and I took the rainforest tour that is offered for $69 per person (every other place was at least $100). Our guide, Evo, was a young college student who is studying ecology and does research in the rainforest, so he was really knowledgeable about everything. You could really tell that he enjoyed being out there.
Sylvia and her team have done an amazing job at making their space warm and welcoming. You instantly feel at home, and time, at least for us, slowed down, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be recommending this place to any friends and family who may find themselves in San Juan, and we would return for a second visit in a heartbeat.
If you are looking for somewhere different, somewhere special to base your exploration of Puerto Rico, DREAMCATCHER is the place. Set in a stunning gated community, right on the beach, the house is beautifully decorated with an eco friendly, vintage feel with a contemporary twist. A small amount of bedrooms gives this B&B a cosy family feel whilst still being modern and efficient. Sylvia and Stephan are the perfect hosts, giving a detailed introduction to the area, the island and the accommodation. It is a very quiet and tranquil setting (Quiet time from 10pm), perfect for reading books, meditating and generally switching off from the outside world, but is just minutes away from bustling Condado's many restaurants and shops. Also, you MUST try the 3 course breakfast prepared each day by a different chef - simply stunning! Sylvia has fantastic style and each room is beautifully simple but stand-out. We LOVED it.
We had a great experience at the Dreamcatcher. We felt right at home and wished we had stayed more than the 2 nights we had booked. The neighborhood is lovely and one of my favorite parts was the handdrawn map of neighborhood highlights provided by Sylvia. We loved many of the Ocean Park/Loiza spots, but especially B de Burro for burritos and margaritas. We hope to be back soon!
Perfect! Exactly what we were expecting and better. Arrived late Friday evening and both Sylvia and Stephan were waiting for us. Sylvia took the time to show us the whole property and all the amenities even though it was quite late. Beautifully landscaped and artistically decorated, the Dreamcatcher was a peaceful island nestled between the city and the beach. Oh, and by the way, don't miss the three course breakfast prepared and served by the Dreamcatcher's very own chef -- delicious and made with really heathy ingredients.

About the Host, Sylvia And Stephan
I have been working as an interior designer and movie set decorator for over 10 years and for a long time it has been on my 'TO DO' list to create a space that I can share in a more personal manner with people. During the time when I lived in New York City, Puerto Rico became the perfect spot for me to go on vacation and when I moved back to the island I created this space so you can enjoy a perfectly relaxing vacation in the Caribbean.
The house is decorated with mostly vintage furniture that I have gotten from my grandmother, mother, friends and from past movie sets. The style is eclectic and fun, every corner tells a story and there are plenty of areas to enjoy privacy.
It's been about two years since I started to share my home with visitors and friends and since then the space has grown in a beautiful organic manner. Every single visitor has been part of this process, leaving behind a memory and their beautiful energy as part of the many layers that create this home.
A few months ago a wonderful visitor Stephan arrived at the house and a very beautiful friendship and journey started. Together we are now continuing and growing the Dreamcatcher Project and would like you to also be a part of it!
We share the house with Pippa and Malda, two amazing golden retrievers that will receive you wagging their tails every time.
We like to...
GO TO THE BEACH which is only a 1 minute from the house!
...and did we mention EATING? lol
