  • This was our first AirBnB experience and myself, husband and 2 kids ( 14 & 11) stayed in this lovely apartment for 4 nights. Will & Russ were the most kind & considerate hosts imaginable, from the time of booking until we left. We arrived to a sparkling clean apartment with chilled wine, juices and snacks. Will offered a WII for the kids to use during our stay. I cannot express enough of what exceptional hosts they were. The neighborhood is very friendly and well maintained. We were very close to NoMa Metro station and very easy to navigate from the apartment. Very nice coffee house around the corner. The furnishings and décor of this apartment were excellent. I would stay in this rental anytime I come to DC. Russ & Will provided the perfect home base for our DC vacation experience. I will definitely recommend to family and friends!!

  • Will is amazing. He was very responsive and helpful! He was sweet enough to lend his gaming console to the apartment for my 9 year old to enjoy during our stay (and he did). He showed us around the apartment and gave us tips and helpful info to make our visit to DC an awesome one. The apartment photos are all telling.. exactly as we expected. All of the comforts of home are here, right down to the washer and dryer which really came in handy! Not as close to Metro as I would have hoped for, but once we got the route down it was easy enough to get to and fro. The street is adorable and historic looking. I loved the area.

  • The basement apartment looks as it does in the pictures. It is very private, very spacious and very clean. The host (Will) is super helpful and responsive. The bed was very comfortable which is saying a lot coming from me because I am a light sleeper. Because the apt is in the basement, it doesn't get a lot of natural light, however it will allow you to sleep in (almost like having blackout shades).

Location was just a bit tricky for me. I had never stayed in that area and it took a couple of days for me to get used to it. In other words, I am lazy and basically like to stay on top of the metro station! This apt is about a 10-15 min walk from the nearest station.

This is a great option for anyone and I would imagine especially for a family. There is a washer and a dryer in the apt and it was a life safer for me!!

Pretty much everything is provided for you - even the detergent for the washer, so the hosts have thought of everything and really take hosting very seriously.

    All around a top-notch place.

  • Russel and WIll are extremely nice. The apartment was perfect and the host made the experience even better. I would highly recommend this place!

  • Will and Russel were excellent hosts, and I'm not saying that just to be nice. I call it like it is.This is a downstairs updated basement apartment in a brownstone row house in Central Washington DC, about .5 miles from the Noma-Gaulladet Metro stop and 2.2 miles via (website hidden) maps to Capitol Hill. The four of us (me, wife, two daughters) got here by taking Amtrak from Baltimore to Washington Union Station, and quick a cab ride to the apartment. After that, we used the metro all week. The Metro is located 1 stop prior to Union Station, and only 2-3 stops (5 minutes) from the Washington Mall. But if I had a bike, I would have biked everywhere. There is a bike path that parallels the metro straight to the mall. Maybe 5 minutes to the capitol (downhill). Everything was exactly as described, the apartment was comfortable, and we had our own secure access. Better yet, we were able to buy groceries at a store just 2 blocks from the Gaulladet Metro. The kitchen comes stocked with enough utensils and seasonings to cook- and oh!, we left 4 Metro cards with $80 of metro passes remaining. Will met us when we arrived, and we saw him almost daily. He was very conscientous about making sure all of our questions were answered, made a few suggestions, has a table with maps and brochures, menus from local restaurants, and even brought down a WII for our daughters to play on. Wireless internet plus many, many DirectTV channels meant that we weren't bored at night (sorry about that Hunger Games rental!). Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Like many DC neighborhoods near the hill, this one is 'up and coming' with a diverse mix of neighbors- many nice homes and a few not so nice homes around us. But the neighbors were friendly and the mailman said 'hi'. We had no problem walking to the Metro. There are a ton of restaurants to make deliveries or to walk to nearby. This one is worth a second look.

  • Russell and Will were absolutely amazing hosts, providing everything we could need for a pleasurable stay in DC. Their apartment is conveniently located, spacious, and instantly feels like home, especially considering the warm welcome we received upon arrival and the array of small amenities and helpful items provided for us in the space.

Will was very available to help with any needs or wants, and suggested a number of places within walking distance, including the best little indie coffee shop ever.

Thank you Russell and Will! I highly recommend your apartment to anyone looking for a lovely time in DC.

  • Great English Basement apartment on a quiet street. Everything was immaculate inside and well appointed. Parking was no problem and owners were very friendly and accommodating. Bottle of wine in the fridge and chocolates by the bed is a very nice touch. :) Would definitely stay here again.

  • My husband and I stayed in Russel's apartment earlier this month on our way to North Carolina. From the very beginning Russell made us feel like family! He provided extra wine for us since my husband and I differ in our tastes. He was also very patient accommodating when we accidentally left some items if clothing - he even mailed the items back to us at his own expense! If you are looking for a great place to stay in DC - thus beats the hotels hands down!

  • Great location, great hosts - I got in at 1am and they STILL met me to go over everything AND provided snacks and wine!

  • Very nice apartment that worked perfectly for our 4 night stay in DC. Bed was VERY comfortable, and everything was clean and attractive on arrival. Will was a very gracious host who was available as needed to answer questions and make recommendations. Lots of nice amenities, including drinks and snacks, wireless connection, Metro cards, maps and books. We would happily return for another stay.
