My brother an I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Rosada. The house is a clean, comfortable and very well equipped place 45 min far from San Jose airport.
Internet is fast and stable. It was the perfect spot for us to work during the day and relax meditating to the sound of the river in the evenings.
The view from the open patio is privileged. We had fun finding toucans, squirrels and colorful birds. If you are adventurous, you'll make it to the river and enjoy a wonderful sunbath in its cristal clear waters.
Glen and Rose are fantastic hosts. It was a pleasure to get to know such a friendly couple.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Atenas I wouldn't hesitate going back to Casa Rosada.
Casa Rosada was a lovely place to stay. The colorful rooms of pink, purple, yellow and blue with French doors off of the bedroom and living room lead to an open patio where you can enjoy meals, or relax in the hammock or wicker chairs, overlooking the vibrant foliage with the sound of a river flowing below.
A queen bed was comfy. There is a futon/sofa in the living room and an office with desk and chair and dependable wi-fi.
The casita was perched high up on a hill and located in a Tico neighborhood. A bus at the bottom of the hill ran frequently into El Centro. Hiking back up the hill required stamina.
Rose Marie and Glen were great hosts and made sure we were picked up at the airport and had what we needed when we arrived. They also rent their house in Montezuma on the coast where we visited with them for a couple days and had a tour of the town.

About the Host, Rose & Glen
Our names are Glen and Rose Marie we are a retired couple from Seattle. We have a home in Montezuma and have lived the "pura vida" 6 to 7 months in Costa Rica every year since 2007. We also love the north west and have homes in Seattle and Victoria, BC which we just cannot give up so we have turned them into vacation rentals so we can enjoy them when we are around. Since we have vacation rentals you can be assured that we will treat your place with respect and leave it in clean condition.
I love to garden, cook, travel, getting to know interesting people form all over the world, and also enjoying the beauty of the places were we live! Hope you will enjoy our homes as much as we do!
