Marcia and Ray were warm and welcoming. Their view and property are stunning and idyllic, and the cabin was well-furnished, well-stocked, neat & clean. This is the perfect place for a quiet retreat into the woods.
My husband and I had a great and refreshing weekend getaway at Swallow's Keep. Ray and Marcia are great hosts who are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. We felt in love with this place right away from the moment we opened the gate of their property. It is a place of serenity, a place of million dollar's view! The cabin itself is small but the patio is huge. It is nice, clean and cozy. There is a kitchen which is handy and runs properly. There is a big fridge and gas stove, lots of clean towels ! The well water is sweet ! This is a place you wish you would stay longer at. Thank Marcia and Ray for your generosity to share with us the best property on the island !
One of the best cabins ever. Situated on a the top of a bluff with private trails and access to the point. Couldn't be better.
Marcia and Ray were great hosts and we had a very relaxing vacation despite the on and off rain.
Swallow's Keep cabin was the perfect getaway for us! Clean and cozy, the cabin had everything we needed for our 4-day stay. The view from the deck is incredible and the property is fantastic, with lots of hiking trails including one that takes you into Dionisio Point provincial park, which is usually only accessed by boat. We enjoyed that the cabin is on the north end of Galiano Island, which made us feel away from it all. Our hosts Marcia and Ray were wonderful and taught us about life on the island and their farm. Marcia even let my stepson feed the sheep and chickens! We were also completely charmed by their dogs, Fleur and Sophie. Such a perfect spot, we hope to make it back one day.
Marcia is a wonderful hostess, her Cabin at
Swallow's Keep is a little [sleeps 3] architectural gem set on the edge of her and Ray's farm on the arbutus-forest edge of a cliff top overlooking half-hour forest trails to ecologically sensitive beaches.
About the Host, Marcia
I am a glassworker and have a studio/gallery within a large forest garden on Galiano Island which is a small island in the Southern Gulf Island Group. We live on an organic farm at the North End of the island with a plethora of domestic and wild animals. We believe we live in paradise and enjoy sharing our space with folks from around the world.
