Rione Monti 1 is the oldest and noblest historic part of Rome: 15 minutes walking from Foro Romano, Piazza Venezia and Piazza di Spagna, Via del Corso, (website hidden) arrive to the apartment is easy from Stazione Termini is a 10 minutes short walking

The Space

The apartment penthouse has the beautiful sight of two churches: Santa Prassede and Santa Maria Maggiore, and Capitolium and Forum.
The accommodation is comfortable for 4 persons with 2 sleeping rooms, large living, kitchen, bathroom, entrance room. WiFi, washing machine, plasma TV, Microwave.
The location Monti is a living museum of Rome: the reason is that you live where the Imperators lived and that the fine constructions are still now there! The near garden that we call today Colle Oppio was the Domus Aurea of Nero that you may visit! And the life of historical Rome is there. The little streets of Rione Monti, are lovely for activities and real roman life. There are stores of all sorts within a stone's throw of the Palazzo, including antique shops, designers boutiques, jewelers, fine food shops, bars and restaurants.
From Fiumicino to Stazione Termini the train costs 14 € for person and the taxi has a fixed price Fiumicino-Rome center, 45€; ask before going the fixed price.
From Ciampino the buses cost 6 Euro for person. Better to take a taxi with a fixed price of 30 Euro: If you choose the train or the bus, they all arrive to Central station and from Stazione Termini is possible to arrive to the apartment with a little interesting walking.

The Neighborhood

THE AREA: MONTI district, with its narrow cobbled streets, is one of the most picturesque and lively areas of the whole city, bordered by Via Nazionale, Via Cavour and Via dei Fori Imperiali. There are stores of all sorts within a stone's throw of the Palazzo, including antique shops, designers boutiques, jewellers, as well as small fine food shops, bakers and greengrocers, bars and restaurants, theatres and cinemas.

Other Things to Note

In Sommer the many and long windows permit passage of air in a really pleasent way.

  • Battistas’ apartment is really cozy, there is elevator, so you don’t need to carry on your suitcases on higher floor. There is everything that you need to prepare dinner – cutlery, plates, pots even oven and microwave. Battista also provides towels. The apartment is specious and when outside was hot, here we could cool off and chill easily. Besides, localization is great. I think that it took us less than 15 minutes to Colosseum and Forum Romanum. On the street you can find great restaurants – we have been trying Italian food in different places, but here was the best food and the atmosphere. Battistas’ neighbor - Anna is fantastic, she was very helpful when we needed sth. I would truly recommend this place.

  • I enjoyed meeting Battista and she was very helpful in terms of using her apartment and about the surrounding area. I chose the apartment because of the location and it was perfectly located within easy walking distance of both the Termini Train station and the Colosseum. It's on a quiet but very interesting side street with many nice restaurants in the vicinty. I've been to Rome several times and this was definitely my favourite location.

  • The apartment is pretty good, but there's a little cold in the winter.

  • The apartment is in a beautiful building and well situated, within walking distance of all the main sights and with shops and restaurants just around the corner.
Nevertheless we thought this apartment is too expensive; the facilities are just too poor. There is no proper heating system, no space to put clothes or other stuff and the bathroom is in bad shape. Despite several earlier complaints the double bed is still as hard as stone and the other bedroom still only has a curtain in the doorway to the kitchen.
If you are looking for a simple apartment with just spartan facilities this apartment should be fine, but I'm sure you will be able to find something cheaper.

  • We spent 5 nights in this appt in family : perfect location and nice quiet appartment ; our contact there was very nice but we found it too expensive regarding the comfort and equipment of the house. The matresses are extremely hard and really need to be changed. Kitchen and bathroom have the minimum equipment. We had to buy everything when we arrived : salt, pepper, oil, sugar, cafe... The second room is not totally closed but opened to the kitchen. No shelves or closets for clothes. Could be much better !

Roman born I find Rome one of the more faboulous city. My favorite cities in Italy: Venezia and Napoli. I work with art projects and have written some book. If friends in the apartment have the feeling to be roman people and to stay in the right place in the right moment this is perfect for myself. I like especially the places nearby Stazione Termini in Rome, I love the Archeological Museum of Piazza dei Cinquecento and the gardens around, Piazza di Spagna very near is the esprit de finess of all romans, for eating my loved place is in Trastevere. The city need so many energies that an home place: beautyful, friendly may offer only quiet times for organicing the next adventure day.
