The apartment is brand new and beautiful. Less than 10 mins walk from Ostbahnhof International station (all the airport trains stop here first, so you don't have to change to the metro or bus with your luggage) and slap in the middle of Alexanderplatz (where the city centre begins) and Friedrichshain, Berlin's most happening neighbourhood, with tons of restaurants and delicious food. Name a country and it's here, with super cheap prices.

Whatever your age and whether you want to go sightseeing, dancing (Berghain is just around the corner), wandering or simply hang out in cool cafes and markets, the best of the capital is all around us.

The apartment is on three levels with a lovely double height living room and open plan kitchen on the middle floor. It's absolutely flooded with light and there's a HUGE ROOF TERRACE with a great view over the East, loads of sky and a dining table for 8. There are two excellent bathrooms, each with a shower, and a little chill out zone on the mezzanine.

Our MODERN/RETRO FURNITURE is fun and colourful and has been merged from our old London and Amsterdam homes, and added to with some snazzy bits from Berlin. We absolutely LOVE this city. Come and join us!

You get a nice double room with bed, wardrobe and a few things to make it home. Plus a little desk for those essential laptop moments. All towels and bedding supplied.

We have two bedrooms available (check our other listings for the second room) so if you want to come in a group of up to 4 people, we have the space. And if you take just one room, you might make friends with our other guests. It's happened many times.

BREAKFAST: You can just wake up when you want, and take what you want from the stock of juices, bread, preserves, cereals and tasty German charcuterie. Help yourself to tea and coffee whenever you like.

ABOUT US: we're a sociable and open minded couple. We enjoy travelling, and being at home. We love walking, discovering and (possibly more than anything), EATING! Paul works from home as a freelance writer and Patrik studies Classics at the Humbolt University. We're generally up for a chat or giving you some advice, and you can have as much privacy or interaction as you want.

  • We stayed for three nights at Paul and Patrik's place. Paul and Patrik are very friendly and easy-going. They have good knowledge of Berlin and gave us advise regarding sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. The apartment was clean and everything was in excellent conditions. The location of the apartment is good - easy access to Mitte ... and an interesting walk towards Mitte along Karl Marx Allee. Definitely a place to stay! ;)

  • We stayed three nights by Paul & Patrik with a friend of mine. The flat is really amazing: decorated with taste, with great light and really near to the S-Bahn station Ostbanhof from which you can reach Mitte in less than 10 minutes. If you are lucky enough to have a sunny weather, taking breakfast on the big terrace is a must! Paul & Patrick are really nice and they gave us great recommendations about places to visit, best places to go shopping, restaurants and clubs.
If I ever come back to Berlin, I'll definetely try to book again at Paul & Patrik's!

  • incredible flat and hosts!! i definetely recommend it and next time i come to berlin i will choose them again.... the guys were very friendly and willing to help in whatever they could. The house is big and the location is quite nice, on one side very relaxed and quiet but on the other near to the center in walking distance. Is also a good location if you are willing to party in Berlin ( 800m from bargain).

  • This is my first time sharing a room in a private house and I'll try to be as objective as possible, so that so can get your own conclusions. I´ll try to explain my objections in order of importance, at least according to my priorities when lodging.
The house is beautiful, so beautiful that the room I booked was surprisingly very poor and not well kept at all. What´s more, the first day in the morning, I realized the wardrome was full of dust and I send them an email as nobody was at home when we got up. Not only didn´t we received any answer, but it was not cleaned during our stay.

Secondly, when I booked my room, I confirmed with them that the bathroom was private, something important to me. But last day we realized that the shower was used and I supposed the rest of the bathroom may be too.

And just to finish this review, if you think that you'll have something to eat at breakfast, their fridge was so empty that nobody would think somebody could live there. As a matter of fact, they told us that they did have the fridge empty because they'd just came back from their holidays in Spain but nothing changed the days after. It´s not a question of money but of compromise and attitude towards your hosts.

So sorry Patrik and Paul but if I didn´t tell you anything when being at your house is because I consider that if you don´t answer my email or talk to me and resolve the problems when being there is because you don´t need my opinions.

That´s the way I see this house and you can get your own conclusions according to your requirements.

  • This was my first visit to Berlin and my first Airbnb experience. The apartment was wonderful, exactly like it is in the pictures. It is located just 2 metro stops away from Alexanderplatz, so the location is perfect if you want to visit Berlin. Paul&Patrick were on holidays, so their friend Adrian was my host. He was awesome, with a lot of good recommendations, trying to help in everything he could and a really interesting person to chat to. Definitely, I will come back to Berlin, and of course, I will stay in Paul & Patrick's apartment! :)

  • Lovely flat with a brilliantly retro vibe. Well equipped. Well maintained. And we were well looked after. Booking, sorting and getting the keys was super straight forward. The whole experience was an absolute pleasure. Thank you.

  • I stayed in Berlin at Paul & Patrik's for 4 nights. They were great hosts! They provided us with a list of recommendations for places to eat, things to do and places to go... Unfortunately I caught a bad flu while there but Patrik helped me out with good medicine and recommended me to take a nice hot bath in their nice bathroom :)
Our stay could not have been any better! Thanks guys!!! Xxx

I am a very happy and enthusiastic Ancient Greek and Latin student and teacher. I've been living together with my boyfriend Paul for about a year now and at the end of July 2012 we moved over to Berlin. I am originally half German and half Dutch and Paul is native English. So our house is quite international. :-) We love to cook and make some very delicious meals. We definitely want you to try some of them. We can help you finding your way in Berlin and we can suggest nice things to do. Our main goal is to make you feel as if you are home. So what are you still waiting for? Feel free to accompany us and have an unforgettable trip to Berlin. :-)
