It's 20 min walk from Harvard. Convenient for scholars and students. The room is tiny and cozy, except the sheet is a little bit dirty, with hairs on. But you can find new sheet in the closet, if the cleaner does not change new sheet for you.
When you arrive, you can get the code for the key pad, so you don't need to check in when the host is at home, which is very convenient.
I like this stay.
It was a great experience to stay in John's apartment! Everything was well set. I was a bit worried before check in coz I'd seen lots of bad comments. However, unlike my worries, it was quite good. The room was BIG and the bathroom was clean. Location was near harvard and red line so it was convenient to travel. Though the price is kinda expensive, if you have enough budget, this place will satisfy you.
Due to circumstances, I'd reserved the room for my friends from overseas. John was very understanding and patience with us through the whole process. Even though it was an unhosted place, John was very thorough and communicative through emails and texts. My friends had a very pleasant stay at John's townhouse. Its charm and the convenience of its location made our friends' stay even more enjoyable.
Neighborhood is calm and very good. Very close to train station and bus stop. CVS pharmacy and Walgreens nearby. Good coffee places nearby. Many restaurants also. Bed room and bath room were clean. As the weather in Boston was good in the middle of September, it was good for me to stay in the room. Communication with John was easy. Thank you John.
We stayed in the room showed in the photo with high bed and black screen. The location of the townhouse is very convenient - close to the subway and plenty of good places to eat.
The room itself was clean and in a good condition, but for one big problem: NO A/C. We had a big transportable fan working all night long, but it didn't help much to cool down the room, just gave me a head ache. So unless you enjoy high humidity and heat, or rent the room during colder seasons, please beware of this short coming.
Another problem we've encountered was parking. There are free parking options that John describes, but they do not work well if you want to leave your car there for the whole day and use the subway for commuting. Got a ticket for parking on the Inman St right in front of the house because as it turns out you need a residential permit for parking there. Ended up having to pay for daily parking at nearby garage.
Overall, a good first experience with AirBnB, but would not stop at this place again.
The housing was unhosted but was easy access using codes provided. Very clean room and the bathroom was a good size too.
We had a nice stay in one of John's rooms. The communication and arrangements before our arrival were very easy. As mentioned in the listing the place is unhosted. The beautifully restored townhouse is very conveniently located near the subway, many bars, shops, restaurants and the universities in Cambridge. The room was clean and well furnished. It should be noted that the bathroom has to be shared and there is no private parking but public spaces partially with costs. However, we would stay there again and recommend the place.
