Local shops in the village. At a distance of 5 km there is Baan Mae Kue with daily fresh-market, ATM's, 7 Eleven and Tesco Express. In the handicraft centre Bor Saang at 13 km there is a medium sized supermarket and a food court. In Doi Saket, also 13 km but in northern direction there are some agreeable restaurants. In Chiang Mai city at 23 km there are shopping centres and restaurants with food from many countries.
Things to do: at 13 km there is San Kamphaeng Hot Springs with a sulphurous swimming pool, private bathes, massage, souvenirs, restaurant and a park with many flowers. For the adventurous there is “The flight of the gibbon”, a unique zip line canopy tour through pristine, 1500 year old rainforest outside of Chiang Mai. 18 platforms, skybridges and lowering stations connect 2km of zip lines that take you through different layers of the rainforest canopy. Visit the elephant camp in the Mae Sa valley. Also in this valley: the Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens, an orchid & butterfly farm, the Tiger Kingdom for lunch with a view at the tigers and also the Mae Sa waterfalls. Chiang Mai city offers the Night Bazaar, other markets, many temples with Wat Doi Suthep at 1200 m with a splendid view over the city. Then there is "Soft adventure" like riding a motorbike, trekkings, bungy jumping, ultra-light aircraft flights, balloon rides, white water rafting and so on. Take a course to learn massage, meditation or yoga. Around Chiang Mai there are many golf courses.
