You have full use of the kitchen, dining room and sitting room where there is a communal television. There are board games and a small library where you are free to borrow books and browse. You can spend some time in the summer room and you are welcome to play piano if you wish. There is a lovely south facing garden to the rear of the property with two sunbeds and a patio table. You are welcome to use the garden and visit the chickens.
Interaction with Guests
I will interact with you as much or as little as you like. Some guests are very happy to keep to their room and enjoy a quiet stay while others like to sit downstairs and talk to us over the kitchen table.
The town of Cleator Moor is small and everything is within walking distance. We are on the edge of town called Wath Brow made famous by the artist Lowry who painted the church in 1948. Even if you are not a serious walker, there are plenty of short and easy walks that provide lovely views of the Lake District Fells. I will be happy to lend you a map and suggest walks to you. There is also a nearby Nature Reserve (once a quarry) where there are rare flowers and fossils can be seen. The best thing about our location is that you can walk to the beach in an hour or walk to Ennerdale Lake in an hour so it really is easy to enjoy your time here.
Parking is on the road in front of the house.
Travelling by public transport there is a bus at least every 30 min but more frequent in the day. You can catch buses to Whitehaven, Egremont, Workington and Cockermouth direct from Cleator Moor.
If travelling from the airport, it is easiest to take the train to Whitehaven and then catch a bus or take a short taxi ride to Cleator Moor.

My mum and I had a lovely short stay with Yvonne (and her gorgeous little one). We felt very welcome and found it a relaxing space after some busy days. The house is lovely - spotlessly clean - and wonderfully convenient for exploring the area. Super!
Yvonne made a welcome. room was warm and comfortable. Lovely big modern bathroom. We enjoyed out stay, local recommended restaurant was good.
Yvonne is a lovely host. She responded to messages very quick, I was always kept in the loop of what was going on and she was very flexible and able to accommodate our needs, due to a late arrival and an early departure.
The house itself is beautiful, set in a quaint little village with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.
Yvonne and her husband made us feel very welcome. It was the perfect place to stay for our family. Thank you
Tucked away near Ennerdale, Yvonne and her husband made us feel welcome from the start. A spacious room greeted us, with plenty of storage and space to unpack our ridiculous amount of luggage for one night. Yvonne is very relaxed and little Yvonne/Yvonne Jr is a ball of energy that will brighten up any damp and windy day. A huge well finished bathroom is yours to use, so in actual fact you get 3 times the space of a hotel for a fraction of the price. I can't fault our stay, this is a secluded gem.

Lowry painted the Wath Brow Mission Church. It is now privately owned but there are still good views of the fells from there and a short stroll to The Beck: a peaceful sitting place by the river EhenCleator Moor Cumbria
