this is a really original place to stay in venice, very central and yet not too flooded with tourists. The rooms are so close to the canal, that you better dont stick out your heads out of the window: you might get hit by a passing boat!
The apartment was in a fantastic location and everything we expected from the description. The host and his assistants arranged for a seamless meet and showed us where the apartment was.
We stayed 3 nights and I would recommend this for my friends!
We stayed at this amazing apartment for a few days in September. We were met by the bubbly Mimi at the waterbus stop and arrived in no time to this amazing apartment. It was beautifully furnished, spacious and well-equipped for all our needs. The location was perfect. Just a short walk to everything, restaurants and supermarket were nearby. Just loved being right on one of the smaller canals. The host was great and we had a lovely stay in Venice. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to others.
Guy's house and it's location on a canal in the Castello district were the perfect Venetian experience. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped, and when we suggested an electric kettle would be handy, one was purchased and delivered the very next day! Our hostess, Mimi, was an absolute delight to deal with and gave us useful tips on where to go, how to get there, what to see, where to eat great food in Castello without paying tourist prices and checked on us by phone each day of our stay. We cannot recommend Guy's house highly enough and would certainly stay there again if we return to Venice.
The apartment was beautiful and just as pictured. Very convenient location, close to the centre of Venice. It was great to have Mimi meet us at the Vaporetto to guide us to the apartment and give us tips on getting around the city.
Can't add much more to what's already been said really. Great comms from Guido, and lots of info from Sonia who kindly met us at the vaporetto stop. Apartment is near all the main sights, but far enough away to be considered a locals area It was clean, well equipped and spacious enough for four of us to stay in without tripping over each other. Great supermarket a minutes walk away, and some good local bars and restaraunts away from the crowds. Really enjoyed seeing boats (and the occasional gondola) go past our bedroom window. Will definitely return to Venice, and would be more than happy to stay here again.
The apartment was in a safe and nice part of the city. We walked or took the water bus to get around. We bought a three day water bus pass. We went out every night and walked around the city and felt (website hidden) was not hot when we were in Venice but the air conditioning worked well for the bedroom. The bedroom was the only room with an air conditioner.I would suggest that you do not try to find the apartment by yourself when arriving the streets are confusing. We meet Angelo at the water bus and he took us to the apartment. The washing machine worked well. Guido left us a large bottle of water. There was some food supplies other guests had left in the apartment. A small grocery store was close so we bought supplies for breakfast and snacks. We had some confusion about our departure time but we had our confirmation slip with us and it had the time on it. Just outside the window boats would pass by and once we saw a gondola pass our window. The wifi worked well. We had lots of room in the apartment so it was very comfortable. My daughter slept on the pull out sofa bed and was comfortable. We would stay at this apartment again it was quiet, clean and on the ground floor, no steps to climb. After walking around Venice and going up and down stairs all day I appreciated that we were on the ground floor.
We stayed at Guido's place in Venice and thought it was pretty good.
One problem we had though was when we were checking in. We arrived at the boat station as per instructed, and tried to call Guido to tell him. After a couple calls with no answer, he finally answered and told us to call a different woman who's number I did not have. He said he could not help me since he was abroad and hung up. I was a bit shocked and thought it was a bit rude. Couldn't they have called me to tell me this? There were no instructions about meeting this other person on the listing instructions. It was not exactly welcoming.
The apartment though is in a GREAT location, and walking distance to everything like Saint Mark's, and all the tourist sites.
It is situated right on the canal and you can see boats go past through the window.
The apartment is big and spacious with a comfortable bed, a large bathroom, a large lounge room, and good fast internet.
I recommend this place to EVERYONE and would stay here again, despite the rude check-in experience.
Guido is a very kind host. He was communicative from day 1. Met us at the boat station, walked us to the apartment, sat down and explained to us the facilities in the property for over an hour, was in no hurry, even after explaining everything, walked me and my family to a nearby restaurant for a nice authentic Italian dinner! The apartment had everything a traveller would need for a bed and breakfast, high speed wifi, full kitchen, hot water for everyone, nice comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels, full kitchen, washer for laundry and more! My wife loved the extra touch of having so much space to lay down all we need during the stay and was pleasantly surprised that there were even extra lights over the bathroom mirror so she could put on her make-up! There was also a hair drier! Thanks, Guido! Well done! 5 stars! I would recommend to everyone! Great location, 10 minute walk to San Marco! Would definitely stay there again!
What a fantastic stay we had! The apartment is exactly as described on the website and Sonia was amazing. Met us off the water taxi and took us to the apartment showing us where the best places to eat were and where the markets were. Left on our own we promptly got lost and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Boats travel down the canal right outside the bedroom window - where there are doves nesting.
The apartment is on a small alleyway next to a bridge and people are passing by and taking photos the whole time. We showed off by telling people we met we were staying there!
Would highly recommend this to anyone going to Venice.
