Mary was easily accessible when I had questions or needed something. The room and accommodations were as described. It was an easy walk to town and the ferry in a charming neighborhood.
The place is very conveniently located less than 10 min walk from Vineyard Haven downtown and the ferry harbor. But when we arrived, I checked the address twice since the house really did not match the description of a "Beautiful Home". No one answered the doorbell and the listed phone number did not work. After an hour, another very nice tenant let us in and showed us our room, which was clean but somewhat run down. The only reasonable shower is outside, which turned out to be surprisingly nice. There are no keys for the rooms nor the house itself, the kitchen door leading to the backyard is simply always open.
Overall, we have to agree with other reviewers that the place is pretty messy and unorganized. The house could be a "Beautiful Home" if it was better taken care of.
Mary has a lovely, spacious house in West Tisbury and the harbor and bus stops are within easy reach. We were staying in the double bedroom -- a nice, light room. There is a great outdoor shower in the garden, showering there was a real experience! Mary is a friendly, nice host and we definitely recommend her house to other travelers who are looking to discover Martha's Vineyard.
Stayed with Mary for the second time and it was great. Gracious and welcoming host with a lovely home. Thanks, Mary!
It is always such a great pleasure to stay with Mary. It is everything and more!!! Thank you.
