Stay in the heart of Seoul's hippest locale, in a private Korean-style apartment, hosted by a well-traveled Korean girl raised in the building and ready to unlock the secrets of Seoul for you. Don't just travel, experience something truly unique!
*Now this apartment has a queen size bed. The picture is dated.
If you're looking for the most convenient location in Seoul, your search is over. With an express line to the airport, fast access to every corner of Seoul, and the hottest streets right out the your door, you'll never have to worry that you're wasting your time.
Now about the apartment. I can’t pretend the rooms are anything fancy, but they have everything you need and even a certain metropolitan flair. If you want to know how most Koreans really live, this is a good place to stay. You get your own kitchen, bathroom, and private entrance, as well as a number of other amenities (see the list below for full details). The door is controlled by a digital lock, so no need to worry about whether you remembered the keys. Wifi coverage includes both your room and the yard. Your own AC unit lets you control the temperature in the summer, and in the winter a private thermostat adjusts the Korean specialty--heated floors. Laundry is communal and free, though if you prefer a laundromat several are very close by.
I live up on the third floor of the building, so should you need anything I’m always easy to contact. As the pictures show, there is a very nice outdoor area where you can hang out--just keep the noise down after dark. The room is not massive, but 2 people fit comfortably, and if you don’t mind getting cozy with one another I don’t mind if even more stay. If you’re set on bringing your dog or your kids, that’s ok too.
Not only is transportation amazingly convenient to and from my apartment, but the area immediately surrounding it is one of the most popular hangout spots for young professionals. With four subway stations in easy walking distance, over one hundred bus lines running to every corner of Seoul stopping a short walk away, and one of the widest, busiest roads in Korea just a minute out the door, transportation really couldn’t get any better. Despite all that convenience, noise really isn’t a problem--my place is tucked on a cute little side street and surrounded by buildings and trees. It’s really quiet.
You will get the entire apartment all to yourself.
There are amenities and tools on a cabinet in the 2nd floor hallway. You can take snacks, tea, tissues, vacuum, plastic bags, etc from there freely.
In the yard, you can use the picnic table, tea table, and the swing as well. If you want to use the bbq grill, let me know.
There is a washer in the laundry room (free to use, no coin needed, detergent provided as well) and a collection of hanging racks outside that you can use, or if you prefer a dryer there is a laundromat just down the street.
I answer my phone/app/text almost instantly, and I live in the same building, up on the 3rd floor, so it is very easy to contact me if you want to.
In general, I try to meet guests when they arrive to welcome them and give some information about the apartment, surrounding area, Seoul, and Korea.
If you want to have a totally private stay, and don't want to meet up at all, you can do so. Just let me know when you book.
On the other hand, if you want to hang out with me and my friends, that will be great too. And again, just let me know. I often throw BBQ parties in the yard and usually 15~40 people come, and of course my guests are invited as well.
If you are looking for a good place to eat, go out, visit, and see with your travel buddies, just ask me. I know many charming places in Seoul!
(If you are into roof-topping, I can point you towards some of the hottest locations and best views.)
There are barbeque parties almost every weekend in the yard (Spring to Fall). All of my guests are welcome to join, great event to meet locals, other tourists, and expats.
If you want to rent my yard for a BBQ party, that is also possible.
A twenty second walk takes you to one of the best late-night restaurant streets in Seoul, with plenty of places open all night and generally good prices all around. Lots of bars and noraebangs populate the rest of the street. The main Gangnam club road is within a ten minute walk, and several of the top clubs in Seoul are even closer. Temporarily tired of Gangnam? A short bus ride will take you straight into Itaewon or Myeongdong, and even Hongdae is fairly easy to get to.
Late night activities not your thing? Several famous shopping areas are within easy walking distance, and there is even a traditional market just a minute or two away. Banks and ATMs abound should you need to resupply your wallet, and should you want exercise, one minute down the street is an elementary school with tracks and outdoor equipment. For a more scenic workout, a ten minute run will take you to the Han River, which has running and biking trails up and down its entire length, as well as frequent outdoor exercise parks full of interesting equipment.
There are 4 subway stations (line 2, 3, 7, 9) you can walk to, and 3 different bus stops with more than 100 bus lines including direct buses going all around Seoul, satellite cities of Seoul, and Incheon/Gimpo airports.
The nearest subway station is Shinnonhyeon station line 9. Less than 5 min walk, 400m/430yard. Also Nonhyeon statation line 7 is about 5min walk, 500m/550yard, Shinsa station and Gangnam stations are both about 1.2km/ 0.7mile away as well.
The nearest bus stop is 1 min away, 150m/500ft, with 50 bus lines including a bus connecting directly to Incheon/Gimpo airports, Myeongdong, Hongdae, Dongdaemoon, honestly everywhere important.
If you want to go to a fancy club in Gangnam, let me know beforehand. I can get you club information, possibly put you on the guest list so you don't need to pay entrance fee.
Popular plastic surgery places, such as Regen (5min walk) and Wonjin (10min walk) are very near. Since this is a quiet, low traffic building and private apartment (you don't share anything), many of my guests preferred my place over a guest house where you need to share the space, kitchen, or shower. My rate is certainly much cheaper than the hospital accommodations, so if you are planning to stay in Seoul for extended period, it would be an economical choice.

I enjoyed my stay in Gangnam Wonderland. The apartment is close to Sinnonhyeon Subway Station and I was able to find it easily after taking the limousine bus from Incheon Airport, so transportation is pretty convenient. The room was decently-sized and had all the amenities necessary for a solitary traveler, but it would be difficult to fit more than two people. The wifi Internet was also helpful and reliable since I don't carry a smart phone. Kelly is a happy host, and well-connected in the sense that she quickly responds my KakaoTalk messages. Kelly also took me on a walking tour around Gangnam, which I thought was very nice. I also asked Kelly's brother for directions many times which helped me get my bearings to navigate around Gangnam. He can usually be found in the yard in the morning.
Was traveling around Korea, went to Seoul, Jeju Island, and Udo Island then found myself wanting to spend one more night in Seoul. Kelly was great! She responded to my message within minutes and accepted my request. I was right in the thick or gangdam. Hands down service
This is in a great location in Gangnam! The place was very clean and I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a place in Seoul. Kelley was a great host and provided us with everything we needed.
kelly's flat was exactly as described on her page, it was super convenient, really well furnished. It has everything you need to cook...In a nutshell, it was perfect for my little trip!!! The location is another great plus, it is really close to lots of shops, restaurants, subway stations.... I really enjoyed my stay there!!!!
I will have to go back to korea in 3-6 months, I know I will rent it again !!!!
kelly has been super helpful during my stay as she gave me several tips for shopping and restaurants.
My only negative point: I did not manage to have more time to spend for a coffee or ice cream with kelly !!! ;)
Really convenient appartment in a great area for low budget. Room is clean and you have everything to cook. You also have a refrigirator.
Kelly and her family had been great guest during me stay.
the host - Kelly - is super friendly, nice, helpful and easy going. me and my friend actually were happy when we met her. sadly we couldn't hang out due to our schedule. lol
oh, and her brother and mother are also very friendly!
what she said about the location was totally true, not even a minute to the nearest bus stop, and didn't take awhile either to both subway stations.
there are also lots of places to eat around the neighborhood, and mostly they close quite late. I didn't have to worry when I got hungry in the middle of the night.
the apartment was comfortable, the room is clean, the bed is nice, cooking utensils are available for use, and also the washing machine (outside).
sooo, to wrap things up, my stay in Kelly's place was satisfying! I'd really like to visit her again sometime, and maybe we could hang out together! =D
do not hesitate to contact me too when (maybe) you want to visit Jakarta. hehehe..
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
