Interaction with Guests
I answer messages as fast as possible. I am working full time, so it may not be instant, but I have an on-site assistant who can usually help you very quickly if I’m not around.
Please note we work full time, and you are expected to be able to follow the directions, clean up after yourselves, and report anything you damage. The house manual and rules contain everything you should need to know about the apartment itself, so be sure to read it before contacting us if you have questions. Obviously if you have questions after that we are more than happy to help--it's just that most questions guests ask are a result of not reading the information we have made available.
If you are looking for a good places to eat, visit, or party (with or without your travel buddies), just ask me. I know many charming places in Seoul!
(If you are into roof-topping, I can point you towards some of the hottest locations and best views.)
If you want to rent my yard for a BBQ party, ask. Usually it is possible.
My place is 20 meters off the best late-night food street in Seoul, and another 20 meters will take you to Gangnam-daero, the main street in Gangnam.
Check Airbnb's Neighborhood - it will give a great overview of the area, also a review from one of my guests and my description are featured as well :)
A twenty second walk takes you to one of the best late-night restaurant streets in Seoul, with plenty of places open all night and generally good prices all around. Lots of bars and Noraebangs(Karaoke) populate the rest of the street. The main Gangnam club road is within a ten minute walk, and several of the top clubs in Seoul are even closer. Temporarily tired of Gangnam? A short bus ride will take you straight into Itaewon or Myeongdong, and even Hongdae is fairly easy to get to.
Late night activities not your thing? Several famous shopping areas are within easy walking distance, and there is even a traditional market just a minute away. Banks and ATMs abound should you need to resupply your wallet, and should you want exercise, one minute down the street is an elementary school with tracks and outdoor equipment. For a more scenic workout, a ten minute run (2 bus stops) will take you to the Han River, which has running and biking trails up and down its entire length, as well as frequent outdoor exercise parks full of interesting equipment.
**Breakfast recommendation - A twenty second walk will get you to a Korean homemade style food buffet. It is cafeteria(Canteen) style and only cost $3.5 per meal. They change their menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and daily, so it is a great place for any meal.
There are 4 subway stations (line 2, 3, 7, 9) in walking distance, and 3 different bus stops servicing more than 100 bus lines, including direct buses going all around Seoul, to satellite cities of Seoul, and to both Incheon/Gimpo airports.
The nearest subway station (400m away) is Sinnonhyeon Station on line 9. It takes less than 5 minutes on foot.
Nonhyeon Station on line 7 is about 500m away, or 7 minutes on foot.
Sinsa station and Gangnam station are both about 1.2km/ 0.7mi away as well.
The nearest bus stop, Nonhyeon, is 1 minute (150m/500ft) away, servicing 50 bus lines including a buses connecting directly to Incheon/Gimpo airports, Myeongdong, Hongdae, Dongdaemun, and anywhere else important.
Other Things to Note
If you want to go to a fancy club in Gangnam, let me know beforehand. I can get you club information, possibly put you on the guest list so you don't need to pay entrance fee.
Popular plastic surgery places, such as Regen (5min walk) and Wonjin (10min walk) are very near. Since this is a quiet, low traffic building and a private apartment (you don't share anything), many of my guests preferred my place to a guest house where you need to share the space, kitchen, or shower. My rate is certainly much cheaper than the hospital accommodations, so if you are planning to stay in Seoul for extended period, it would be an economical choice.
1. No smoking inside. You can smoke in the yard. Cigarette butts should go in the can on the picnic table. (If you smoke inside you agree that I can keep the security deposit if I need to to clean the place or placate other guests, and I can kick you out early if it will take a few days to get rid of the smell. Don't smoke inside--the yard is just a few steps away.)
2. Take your shoes off inside the apartment.
3. Glass, metal, paper (any paper), and plastic (any plastic) - don't need to be separated. They should all go into the green recycling net in the corner of the yard.
4. After 10pm is quiet hour. Please respect the other guests.
5. When showering, please use the shower curtain to keep the water inside the bathroom.
6. Dogs are allowed, but please let me know when you book my place. No cats are allowed since a cat can attract many stray cats. One animal is booked as one guest, and you are responsible for any damage caused by your pets.
7. If you have problem with the apartment, break or damage anything, let me know ASAP. I promise to resolve the situation in the best way I can.
8. Guests are expected to leave the apartment clean - trash is to be picked up and placed in garbage bags and carried out to the outside garbage area, there should be no stains or spills, and the shower and kitchen are to be left basically clean.
Great location.. Really convenient to get around the various subways near this place, also able to walk to garosugil and gangnam area.. The directions to the place given was clear and we have no problem finding the place. Kelly have also been very responsive, even reaching out to us again a day before we travel. Room is small n cozy, just right for a couple.. Well heated for the cold season too. One of the light was flickering during our stay, we weren't very bothered by it but have feedback accordingly anyway and I'm sure it will be replace for the next visitor..
The room is a great value in a convenient location for travelers. The outdoor area would be fantastic to use in nicer weather, but it was cold and rainy the whole time I was there, so I didn't take full advantage of the place. Overall, it's hard to find a better value for a snug, restful place in Gangnam, and the more days you stay, the better the value is!
Kelly's place was easy to find and it was a great location- very convenient! We had to catch a very early bus from Express Bus Terminal and I am glad we stayed here. The room was cozy too. We could not connect to the wifi but we were only there one night. Overall we had a great stay!

Kelly and Katriina host here together. Kelly works for an IoT company and Katriina is a model. Both live on the main property, a house with ten apartments and a yard that Kelly's dad built just off the main street in Gangnam twenty two years ago. There is a cute little yard as well, something truly unique in this part of Gangnam.
We both like to travel and both speak excellent English. Kelly also speaks native Korean and basic Chinese, and Katriina speaks Finnish. Kelly's sister speaks fluent Russian.
Kelly has been to over 30 countries and went to high school and college in America. Katriina is European and has lived in Korea for over a year.
Since Katriina has more time, she is usually the one at the building when people need help.
While Kelly and Katriina do most of it, this is a family enterprise. Kelly's parents are both teachers and also live on the property. If you run into them they can be quite interesting. Kelly's dad is an ethics teacher and knows all about Korean culture and history. Her mom is a science teacher. Say hi if you see them!
Our other properties are higher end, though they are still located nearby.
