Welcome to the Water Wheel Cabin!
Just above Ghost Town, 2 miles below Cataloochee Ski! Enjoy a completely renovated and extra clean cabin that is easy to access. Located off Fie Top Road. Imagine a beautiful space to relax in, with a hot tub for soaking as well as the babbling creek and adjacent waterfall views. We offer a private, quiet cabin that is just a few miles from skiing, trout fishing, waterfall hunting, elk following, and Blue Ridge Parkway driving.
Easy drive to Harrah’s Cherokee.

The space
This 3 bedroom 2 bath fully renovated-cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 6 adults. The primary suite has an ensuite bath and a very comfortable California King bed with Crate and Barrel linens and a variety of sleeping pillows for your comfort. There is also a private sitting area in this suite, perfect for two adults to share some down time, morning coffee, or to use as a quiet work space. I have a small rolling cart perfect to create a work space in any room of the cabin. Tuck away in the master suite until you are ready to emerge and join your guests.

The master shower has a private entrance, and is large enough to accommodate two persons at one time. There are four shower heads and a large vanity sink for ease of use by two persons as well.

There are two additional guest rooms with queen beds, adjoined by a new build bathroom with a tub/shower combination. One bedroom has a vanity/desk area for ease of getting ready, complete with a lighted makeup mirror. (Perfect for Zoom calls!) Lots of closet and storage space, very comfortable linen packages and lighting make each room a great retreat. Each room has Customized Blinds and Window Coverings, to make for great blackout spaces as well as to block the elements. If you like a dark room for sleeping, you have three to choose from. Otherwise, all three get excellent soaking sunlight during the day.

We ask that no one use the sectional sofa at any time for overnight sleeping accommodations, as that is not the intended use, and there are no linens provided for same. We did install lots of extra sofa blankets for snuggling and Netflix binging! Use the black rolling computer cart as a work or mobile snack and drink station, and enjoy yourselves!

We have a hot tub and large deck area with seating as well as a covered porch swing. Great place to congregate or get away.

As we are a newly renovated home with new floors, kitchen and bath, furnishings and linen packages, plus the proximity to wildlife and the creek, we are not pet friendly. Apologies, but there are too many unexpected variables. Guests with pets will need to make other arrangements.

Guest access
This is a whole house rental. There is ample parking at this cabin, in front of the house as well as in front of the two car garage. (Garage is not available for guest use, as it is storing equipment and backstock.)
Large poured concrete driveway, and our property is right off of the main road to Cataloochee Ski, which is a road always mindfully maintained, so there should never be an accessibility issue to this property. Please be mindful of our bridge as you enter and exit the property. We put up orange snow markers and lights on the bridge to help guide your way.

Public review by Katie, April 2022
"This is THE ONE! Do not hesitate to book this beautiful place. First and foremost Patricia is an amazing hostess! Her communication is exceptional as well as this home. From the furnishings, the bed linens, and special touches you will not want to leave. As described it is very easy to access the house from the main road. The road going to the house is also an easy drive. We chose this house mainly for the ease of parking the cars for our trip to Tail of the Dragon. And maybe the tub too, which was amazing each night. This is a perfect place to make memories. Thank you Patricia."

Other things to note
Part of the charm of this cabin is the bridge and waterwheel house that cover and are adjacent to the creek and waterfall. Please be mindful when walking around the bridge and creek area. Please be especially mindful when driving onto and off of the property. Fantastic for sports car enthusiasts or those who do not have AWD or 4WD. Super easy to park and unload and reload, no matter the weather, because of the long covered porch.
