About This Listing
A clean and comfortable room on a quiet street in Amsterdam 's most popular neighborhood "De Pijp".
This is a one bedroom apartment and can accommodate a maximum of one person.
The room is located on the ground floor so no stairs, for those with heavy suitcases.
The bathroom and kitchen are clean and shared with me. There is wireless internet included.
This room is ideal for guests who have business downtown. Public transportation such as tram lines are located 5 minutes walking distance.
The city center is a ten minutes bike ride away, from where you will be situated.
These attractions are also very close by; the famous and lovely Albert Cuyp Market (A flee market), where you can buy fresh food and other merchandises and the Sarphati Park, named after the famous Dutch physician doctor Sarphati. There are many different kinds of restaurants and cafés around the corner.
Looking forward to welcoming you in my home!
Gil is a nice and helpful host. He provided information about going to the city centre and where to visit in Amsterdam. He is approachable and always asking if everything is fine. He was busy with work during the day so we only chatted a little when he is back at night.
The room is spacious and clean. Toilet/shower are clean as well. I used the kitchen to make tea/coffee and to boil hot water. Some added bonus such as traveler adapters, guild books were also provided.
The location is some distance outside the city centre, have to take tram which is a short walk from the apartment. Walking to the centre is still possible (I did twice). Neighbourhood is fine and you can still find food at cafe/restaurant round the corner at 10pm.
I spent two nights at Gilian's place. It was my first time in Amsterdam and my first time using airbnb. The location in de Pijp was excellent - a quiet street but within walking distance to good cafes and restaurants. More relaxing than being in the touristy centre but only a short bike ride from all the attractions. The room itself is big and has everything you need. Gilian is easy to get along with - friendly but not in your face. I felt super comfortable there. Recommended.
Gil was a fantastic host and his place was fantastic and in a great neighborhood. The Pijp was a great neighborhood to stay in, where the locals live and not too close to all the tourist trap garbage.
This was a great stay for me and Gil is a great guy. Although my stay was short, it was very sweet as it had all that I needed and Gil was very helpful with my time in Amsterdam. Highly recommended!
