Relax and rejuvenate in this country lakeside getaway! Once you step foot on the property, you will feel your stress melt away. Wake up to a peaceful & beautiful sunrise on the wraparound porch while listening to the birds chirping in the morning dew. Take a paddle around the 187 acre lake or just sit at the dock & enjoy the view. This getaway is only 40 min. to Gainesville, 40 mins to Orange Park, 1 hour to Jax, 1 hour to St. Augustine. Lake it easy at your next lakation! (internet is spotty!)
The space
Our lakehouse cabin is nestled in rural North Florida surrounded by oak trees with lake view and private lake access. If you need high speed internet, this property is probably not for you.
- There is plenty of space inside the cabin with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Upstairs loft can be used as an extra area for sleeping with our complementary air mattresses.
- Downstairs bathroom has a shower, and upstairs bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub (no shower).
- There is a game bar for those who would like to play craps, roulette or poker.
But why stay indoors when you have so much options outdoors?
- Enjoy a day on the water with our kayaks and maybe you will see the elusive river otter while on the lake.
- Or just play the yard games available for your enjoyment.
- And there's no need to cook indoors because you can fire up the grill or use our Blackstone griddle and have a BBQ!
On the way to the lakehouse, you will be driving on paved road, but the last 800 yards or so will be on a dirt road. Internet is via satellite so it is not the most reliable. If you need high speed reliable internet, this getaway is probably not for you.
Guest access
The garage will not be accessible to our guests. The floating dock is also currently under repair so will be off limits but please feel free to enjoy the regular dock! The property has no wheelchair access.
Other things to note
PLEASE READ:
1. An information binder is located in the kitchen. This will contain information about wifi, house rules and general area information.
2. We offer free (satellite) wifi, but please be prepared and be patient for spotty service, most especially during bad weather.
3. We are in a rural, Florida lakeside setting so there is a good chance you will come across insects and critters regardless of our constant housekeeping and monthly pest control. Please be warned.
4. We are an older home in a rural setting. We are not a hotel. If you are looking for modern and city amenities, our cabin is not for you. There will be dust, leaves and cobwebs all the time so feel free to book a hotel instead.
5. There are (2) kayaks as well as cornhole, golf frisbee, ladder toss and spike ball game for guests to use. After use, please put the items away neatly. Do not drag the kayaks to avoid damaging them. And always remember: SAFETY FIRST so please put on the life jackets before going into the water.
6. There are towels for our guests but please bring your own toiletries.
7. We provide one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. Please pack accordingly per your personal needs.
8. No smoking on property.
9. We keep an inventory of all our items. Damages and losses will be assessed a $500 charge, as well as reported with AirBNB.
10. If arriving late / at dark, please note that there are no street lights on our road and it will be really dark.
11. You will be driving for about 800 yards on a dirt road.
12. Internet is via satellite so is not highly reliable.
