The Space

Sunny days, cool, breezy nights.... or blustery days, sprinkles and downpours... WELCOME to Portland, the gem of the Pacific Northwest!

IF THE ALLURE OF PORTLAND, the jewell of a city, calls to you than you have come to the right spot! Whether you are here to ski the slopes of Hood or Batchelor, sample the fabulous nationally recognized cuisine, enjoy gorgeous hikes along trails in the nation's largest park within city limits, enjoy Broadway Across America theater, the lush vineyards, or great shopping with no sales tax, Portland offers these amenities and more.

I would be delighted to be your host during your stay. In my home you will enjoy a lovely guest room complete with queen bed, quality linens, mini fridge for your beverages and refreshments, a telly with DVD (if you are inclined to watch), WiFi, and a good night's sleep in the quiet peacefulness of my lovely, cozy Grant Park home. There is a well appointed full bath directly adjacent to your sleeping room with a great shower.

My home is lovingly cared for, exceptionally clean, with an aura of calmness that you'll be certain to notice when you first arrive. There is air conditioning, a private urban back yard, and it is in a great, central location. You will be moments away from freeway access, a block from public transportation, and a stones throw from the exciting Pearl District, Powell's City of Books, Cultural district of downtown, hip Mississippi neighborhood, and Alberta Arts District. Parking is safe and easy right in front of my home.

If you are looking for a serene place to retire after a day of hiking, an evening enjoying one of the many micro brews we are famous for, or a great dining experience finished with a walk along the river's Esplanade... look no further. As a person with many years experience in property management and hospitality, I WELCOME YOU!

  • The perfect host in the perfect location. Janet is thoughtful and perceptive in her ability to tune in to her guests needs. And we "clicked as friends" making my stay in her home, comfortable, easy, and fun. Her home is so peaceful and convenient and in my favorite area of NE Portland. I look forward to futher Portland adventures with Janet...thanks!

  • Janet and her home were warm and welcoming. The guest room bed was supremely comfortable and Janet left a lovely bowl of fresh grit and healthy snacks that were much appreciated. Lovely neighborhood and close to the Alameda neighborhood on Fremont where I ate most meals. I would and probably will stay here again.

  • Whatever the reason for your travel to Portland know that your experience will be superb with Janet. I was there for fun, so fun times we shared. But maybe you are visiting a sick relative or attending a wake, something that is not so fun, know that your visit will be enhanced with Janet no matter. The place is cozy and sweet and the walls whisper stories of guests in the past. I am coming back as soon as I am able so I can hear more whispering, and this next time, stories about me.

  • Janet's home was beyond cozy! I was busy with long days at a workshop and retreated to my comfy bedroom all nights which was exactly what I needed. And she booked me at very short notice! I wish I had had more time to chat with her because she is also a very lovely and interesting person. And Charly is super sweet :)

  • I had a wonderful time at Janet's house. She's a very gracious and thoughtful hostess, she even lent me a phone charger when I realized I had forgotten mine! She asked me about how I was getting around and gave me helpful advice. Her neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and peaceful, near a nice park.

I am a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and Portland State University.
I currently work one day each week in the Wellness Department at New Seasons Market and two days as a Personal Assistant.
I am a stylish urbanite who loves the comforts of my cozy, clean and inviting home, and it's proximity to all of the many amenities Portland has to offer from beautiful tree lined neighborhoods, to lush parks, fabulous eateries, theater, dance, art galleries, world class shopping, bicycling the back roads of the Willamette Valley, west side wineries, close proximity to ocean beaches, mountain hikes and snow adventures. I'm a both a home body and world traveller having spent the better part of a summer renting my home to a woman visiting family in Portland while I sublet an apartment in the West Village of New York City. A few summers ago was spent studying Italian in Perugia Italy! I'm happily home for the duration with a companion: my Lhasa Aphso Charley... the sweetest, calmest (and no longer sight impaired) friend a girl could have!
