About this listing
September and October are two of the MOST LOVELY months in Portland. Come and stay in the peaceful sanctuary that is my home! From this restful dwelling place venture out into the adventure that is PORTLAND!
IF THE ALLURE OF PORTLAND, the jewell of a city, calls to you than you have come to the right spot! Whether you are here to ski the slopes of Hood or Batchelor, sample the fabulous nationally recognized cuisine, enjoy gorgeous hikes along trails in the nation's largest park within city limits, enjoy Broadway Across America theater, the lush vineyards, or great shopping with no sales tax, Portland offers these amenities and more.
I would be delighted to be your host during your stay. In my home you will enjoy a lovely guest room complete with exceptionally comfortable queen bed, quality linens, mini fridge for your beverages and refreshments, a telly with DVD (if you are inclined to watch), WiFi, and a good night's sleep in the quiet peacefulness of my lovely, cozy Grant Park home. There is a well appointed full bath directly adjacent to your sleeping room with a great shower.
My home is lovingly cared for, exceptionally clean, with an aura of calmness that you'll be certain to notice when you first arrive. There is air conditioning, a private urban back yard, and it is in a great, central location. You will be moments away from freeway access, a block from public transportation, and a stones throw from the exciting Pearl District, Powell's City of Books, Cultural district of downtown, hip Mississippi neighborhood, and Alberta Arts District. Parking is safe and easy right in front of my home.
If you are looking for a serene place to retire after a day of hiking, an evening enjoying one of the many micro brews we are famous for, or a great dining experience finished with a walk along the river's Esplanade... look no further. As a person with many years experience in property management and hospitality, I WELCOME YOU!
Their sleeping room and full bath.
Interaction with Guests
As much as is mutually desired. I am away from my home at times, but always available by cell phone.
The Dolph Park neighborhood is lovely, safe, tree-lined and a perfect place for walks and viewing beautiful homes. We are a short distance from coffee shops, a great library, a high school running track, and a variety of really good restaurants.
There is quick and excellent access to the freeway, bus service a block away and the MAX is a 10 minute walk. Any of these modes of transportation gets you into downtown quickly and easily!
My home is my sanctuary and you will find it to be a calm and peaceful environment. It is exceptionally neat, clean and well run. As such I appreciate when my guests are respectful of the environment I have created. Please turn off lights when you are gone, keep toiletries stashed in the cupboard provided. The kitchen has limited access. If you wish to use glasses or cups, please wash, dry and put them back in the cupboard when you have finished with them. These courtesies will be greatly appreciated and go a long way towards your good review and an invitation to return! Please note that because it is my home I would prefer that there not be additional people entertained here during your stay. Thank you!
From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2015 the minimum stay is 1 night.
About the Host, Janet
I am a stylish urbanite who loves the comforts of my cozy, clean and inviting home, and it's proximity to all of the many amenities Portland has to offer from beautiful tree lined neighborhoods, to lush parks, fabulous eateries, theater, dance, art galleries, world class shopping, bicycling the back roads of the Willamette Valley, west side wineries, close proximity to ocean beaches, mountain hikes and snow adventures.
I'm a both a home body and world traveller having spent the better part of a summer renting my home to a woman visiting family in Portland while I sublet an apartment in the West Village of New York City. A few summers ago was spent studying Italian in Perugia Italy! I'm happily home for the duration with a companion: my Lhasa Aphso Charley... the sweetest, calmest (and no longer sight impaired) friend a girl could have!
