  • I had the most intriguing stay at L'Aubergine rouge. I slept better there than I often do at home. Quiet and perfect for the reflective time I needed in a city so rich in history, lore and an essence difficult to describe.

I speak little French but found the people of Arles friendly and helpful. Despite that, as a woman traveling alone , in a foreign country, not fluent in the language, can be intimidating and exhausting. At suite 7, there is respite and comfort in every detail. My name was on the door when I arrived. Sweet Dario greeted me and assisted with my luggage. Candles were lit and sweet music played quietly in the background. On the patio, fresh flowers. I never locked the door to my suite and never felt I had to. I've left my memory cards from my camera and I'm assured they will be sent for me. I do not doubt this.

Eryk was away for most of my stay, but on his return I was invited to dinner.....and what an evening. My send off from France leaves me yearning to return soon. My experience was beautiful and rich. I will return here. I don't know when, but I will return.

  • We had a great time in Arles. Eric welcomed us with a lovely drink and helped us get a last minute seat at a great restaurant! Unfortunately we will be one of the last guests at this house but feel assured that their new house will be even better. We hope to one day go back and get some of Eric's cooking and spend a bit more time with Augusto!

  • We were greeted here by Eric with our names written in chalk on the front door, the apartment is exactly what we imagined a french town house would look like very beautiful. Our room was very big on the 1st floor with a very comfy bed and great bathroom. The kitchen was supplied with all the basics, oil, milk, butter and all the equipment we needed. Eric and Augusto brought around a bottle of champagne for our 2nd year wedding anniversary and were happy to sit and chat, they also recommended and arranged a couple of nights accommodation for us in the northern part of Provence that was just as stunning as they had told us. Overall an excellent stay in a beautiful town.

  • Eric and Augusto were wonderful hosts. Eric greeted us after a very long day of travel with a glass of wine and some snacks, and we felt welcome and comfortable in their gorgeous home. They were fun to hang out with and gave us some cheese lessons, as well as advice on seeing Arles. We would recommend L'Aubergine Rouge to anyone! Thanks!

  • What an mazing stay we had with Eric and Augusto. They are just the sweetest people who made us feel so at home. When we arrived, our names were even written in chalk on the front door! On the first evening we were invited to drinks and snacks with them on terrace. They were very informative about sightseeing and restaurants and kept us updated by sms about happenings in town. The room is so beautifully decorated and the bathroom AMAZING! There is even a radio and dvd player - we really recommend watching Lust for Life!!!!
A realy little gem of a place!!!!

  • Eric & Augusto are two friendly and charismatic hosts. We stayed at L'Aubergine Rouge for 4 nights. While we were mainly looking for a nice and quiet place to stay, which we indeed found, Eric & Augusto kept surprising and delighting us with delicious and wholesome meals.
We loved the fresh fruits and pastries, and their lovely jams and homemade yoghurt.
One day when I caught a slight cold, Eric was quick to brew an herbal infusion from some of the fresh herbs that he grows. Just what I needed!

We had very pleasant conversations with E&A, and they provided us with plenty of tips on the best places to visit and the scenic routes to take. Incidentally, there is plenty of free parking around the B&B.

We had a perfect stay in Arles, and we'd love to stay again at L'Aubergine Rouge next time we come to Provence.

  • Augusto was the perfect gentleman. He was really helpful with my initial arrival and very detailed in explaining the city and many amenities in the room. I loved our morning breakfast chat before I left to go back to (website hidden) I will always remember Madame Pigeon :) xoxo Espero verte de nuevo en el futuro!

  • Eric and Augusto were wonderful hosts! They greeted us so warmly and welcomed us with a beautiful little selection of cheeses and nibbles and even wine!
We loved chatting in their terrace, sipping on their delicious tea- they were always up for interesting discussions. Eric and Augusto made us feel so comfortable in their beautiful home- it was very hard to leave. They helped us book a nice restaurant for dinner and gave us many recommendations of what to see and do in and around Arles.
Arles itself was incredible- so much liveliness. An amazing city.
If you're to visit Arles- there is no better way- and I mean it, than staying with Eric and Augusto. We look forward to seeing them again!! (soon!) :)

  • Our stay with Eric and Augusto was delightful in every way. I have stayed in bed and breakfasts in the US and in a number of other countries and L'Aubergine Rouge was far and away the best I have stayed at. It exceeded our expectations and we absolutely loved it. We would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the south of France. Also, every breakfast option is unique and delicious.

    Thanks Eric and Augusto!
