Chanel is a fantastic host with an amazing guest house. It's located on a quiet street in a very nice neighborhood in Bellevue. It is wonderfully appointed with a full kitchen that is perfect for making breakfast in the morning just before you jet across the bridge into Seattle. The bed is super comfy and the bathroom is fully stocked with towels and shampoos. There's honestly nothing more I can ask for when I'm traveling and Chanel's place is representative of that. Thanks so much for hosting me!
The listing was exactly as described and my wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Chanel checked in with us to make sure everything was ok and we really appreciated the wine and cheese left for us when we arrived.
I find myself in Bellevue often for work and will definitely stay here again for my longer trips.
If Airbnb was looking for someone to represent their ethos and values, Chanel would be that person! Her hosting went above and beyond anything one could expect: from the welcome with wine and cheese; the magical appearance of clean sheets and towels without even asking; and the treats of homemade jam and local wines, which really made for a warm welcome to the area!
The property is truly delightful: bright, spacious, and every amenity you could want for a stay. You could be forgiven for thinking it's a wonderful ski-chalet in the Swiss alps once you look out the kitchen window and see the mountains in the distance! It's located a short walk from downtown Bellevue and its great shopping and restaurants. And if you want to get to downtown Seattle, the transit center is a short walk from Bellevue Square. And don't worry if you're not too sure of your way around, Chanel provided booklets on all the possible ways to get around and see things!
I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Very clean and quiet, and Chanel made our stay easy. All arrangements worked as described, and while we were not able to meet face to face, we enjoyed Chanel's hospitality and the thoughtful touches and snacks provided. Good queen bed, and very convenient parking.
This place was wonderful. Really close to the city, but quiet enough to provide relaxation and privacy at the end of the day. The quality of the guest home is great, and the care and attention of Chanel is great as well. We used the kitchen a lot, and it was nice to have all of the appliances and dishes that Chanel provides. The neighborhood was quiet, yet so close to the downtown action of Bellevue. The toll bridge to Seattle gets you downtown very fast if you need it. The only issue we experienced was with the hot water heater going out occasionally. Chanel was very quick in addressing this and was even having a new one installed soon.
Since last January, I have been staying in Mayberry Charm, every other work week. It is inviting, clean, well-equipped, within walking distance of restaurants, stores, parks and movie theaters.
Every time I checked in, there was a bottle of wine, fresh flowers, milk and candy for me. Once I asked Chanel if I could borrow her hand mixer and the following day there was a brand new one waiting at the door. Chanel said it was something the apartment could use.
I am an educational consultant and if I am ever back in the Seattle area, I would certainly stay in Mayberry Charm, and I would highly recommended to you.
Wonderful, charming, cozy, homey space. Pictures are accurate. You can control the heat in each room, which I found to be very efficient. Lovely bath, comfy bed, lots of light. A very welcome greeting from Chanel with wine, cheese, and chocolate, which I consumed right away since I got in late. Easy walk to Bellevue and to the bus stops that take you downtown Seattle. It was dry and sunny the entire week I was there, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Safe, quiet neighborhood. Strong WIFI and cable was a nice bonus. I enjoyed most the big couch pictured by the windows and the top of the line kitchen. I've never used a nicer kitchen at an airbnb.
My husband Pat and I have three kids. Our first born is attending the University of Washington, merely six miles away, and the other two are in high school. We try to ski as a family all winter, and head up to the San Juan Islands in the summer. This leads me to my next topic...
5 things I can't live without: My Family, My Friends, Good Wine, Good Rain Gear, and a Glue Gun. I think Pat might say: A Fishing Boat, Fishing Gear, Fishing License, Good Beer, and a Good Friend to fish with!
When we travel, we don't like to feel like tourists in a hotel; rather, we like to slip into the local culture and really get to know the area we're visiting. As a family, our favorite travel experience was staying in an apartment near Canyelles Beach, north of Lloret del Mar on the east coast of Spain. Wow! While we can't provide amazing surf and a beautiful sandy beach, my goal as a host is to offer a private home away from home where guests will experience what it's really like to live in a suburb smack in the middle of the Seattle and Bellevue metropolitan areas.
Speaking of fitting in...like the song lyrics suggest, "Always take the weather with you." A true Seattlelite rarely carries an umbrella, but wears layers of polartec and gortex ready to shed when that unsuspecting burst of sunshine reveals why we are known as the Emerald City.
