The Space

Private Guest House with separate entrance, gourmet kitchen with stone counters and a Viking Range, bathroom and washer/dryer. In addition to the real queen size bed, there is a sofa sleeper. Wireless Internet, cable television, and parking for one car. The guest house is dedicated to hospitality... it is clean, spacious, and filled with essentials... not someone else's stuff.

Walk the .8 mile to downtown Bellevue or one block to jump on a bus connecting to anywhere, (Microsoft, Pike Place, Downtown Seattle, University of Washington). Pick up fresh flowers and produce at the Farmers Market down the street on Thursdays from 3-7 through October. Do some power shopping or go to the Lincoln Square Cinema at Bellevue Square (8 blocks away). Happy Hour? There has to be at least 50 within a two mile radius. Endless dining options. Visit several beautiful parks and beaches on Lake Washington.

Downtown Seattle is a quick bus ride away, and a wonderful day trip, or easy commute for visiting professionals.

We live in the main house, and will be happy to answer questions and help to make your visit perfect.

  • My stay at Mayberry Charm has been perfect. I stayed there for 5 days as I was attending a Conference in Bellevue. The place is exactly as described. The house was very clean when I checked-in, and Chanel had also left delicious welcome treats for me. The neighborhood is very quiet and feels very safe. I walked every morning to the Conference, which was taking place at the Hyatt hotel, and it was a very nice and enjoyable 10-15 minutes walk. The surroundings are very pretty, lots of trees! The neighbors are friendly too. All and all, a very positive experience. Chanel is very attentive, and although we did not run into each other during my stay, she kept in touch to make sure everything was ok.
    Thanks Chanel!

  • I have been staying at Mayberry Charm for the last six months. It is quiet and clean. The hostess leaves fresh flowers, eggs, milk and a bottle of wine and chocolate bar on each visit. The unit has everything you will need, even a washer and dryer. It is located about six blocks from downtown Bellevue which has great restaurants and shops. It is close to a QFC and a Whole Foods market if you desire to cook for yourself on a Wolfe gas range.

  • My husband and I stayed here as a part of our anniversary trip to the NW. We could not have been more pleased with this place as well as with the host! Chanel was very friendly from the get-go and extremely accommodating. We were driving up from a few days in Portland, OR and arriving on the later side. When we finally arrived, Chanel had left the lights on for us and the windows open (it was a nice and cool night) along with fresh flowers and chocolate! The place was very very clean (and that means a lot coming from a clean freak like myself) and had absolutely everything we would need for our stay. This is one rental where I feel like the pictures and the posting do not do it justice – it was even better than I had expected! The location was great! Very close to everything. Coming from the DC metro area where everything is close in miles but far far away in traffic, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get around. We would definitely rent here again, heck, I would live here!

  • I am consulting in Bellevue and needed a place to stay every other week for many months. My employer found Mayberry Charm and it has worked out perfectly. Chanel is so accommodating. There is everything you need, a washer/dryer, salad spinner, umbrellas, coffee filters, hair dryer, etc. There is always a bottle of wine, a gourmet candy bar and a flowering plant on the dining table. And because I arrive at night, Chanel has turned the heat and light on to welcome me. It is extremely quiet and conveniently located.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Chanel and Pat's place! It was super comfortable, clean and built/setup with a fine quality kitchen and bathroom... They even greeted us with some wine and food when we got there! Would love to stay here again next time I'm in Seattle!

They make it super easy to check-in and check-out and are very organized and make staying there super easy and comfortable.

  • Chanel's place is very welcoming and cozy. The kitchen has everything you need. The wine, cheese, and fruit was a thoughtful treat. The apartment is upstairs from the garage; very private and quiet. Chanel and her husband are wonderful hosts. I would recommend staying there.

  • Mayberry was wonderful because it was clean, quiet, and in a very nice neighborhood. The location provided easy access to freeways, shopping, and dinning. We enjoyed making our own breakfasts using the magnificent gas stove and professional cook ware. The second-floor windows offered some nice views and fresh air. Do NOT settle for a thin-mint offering on your pillow from some hotel chain ... Come see what Mayberry has to offer you.

About
My husband Pat and I have three kids. Our first born is attending the University of Washington, merely six miles away, and the other two are in high school. We try to ski as a family all winter, and head up to the San Juan Islands in the summer. This leads me to my next topic... 5 things I can't live without: My Family, My Friends, Good Wine, Good Rain Gear, and a Glue Gun. I think Pat might say: A Fishing Boat, Fishing Gear, Fishing License, Good Beer, and a Good Friend to fish with! When we travel, we don't like to feel like tourists in a hotel; rather, we like to slip into the local culture and really get to know the area we're visiting. As a family, our favorite travel experience was staying in an apartment near Canyelles Beach, north of Lloret del Mar on the east coast of Spain. Wow! While we can't provide amazing surf and a beautiful sandy beach, my goal as a host is to offer a private home away from home where guests will experience what it's really like to live in a suburb smack in the middle of the Seattle and Bellevue metropolitan areas. Speaking of fitting in...like the song lyrics suggest, "Always take the weather with you." A true Seattlelite rarely carries an umbrella, but wears layers of polartec and gortex ready to shed when that unsuspecting burst of sunshine reveals why we are known as the Emerald City.
