Our stay at Mayberry Charm was fantastic! Chanel was both professional and hospitable, making sure we had everything we needed while also respecting our privacy. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, and very easy to get into and out of downtown. The space was lovely, clean, and comfortable, and had everything we needed. I have nothing but praises to sing-I highly recommend!
Chanel was amazing! Extremely accommodating and kind. She even went as far as to bring us the blender from her personal kitchen when I asked if the apartment was equipped with one.
The location wasn't walking distance from much, but still a great neighborhood. There was a nice 24/7 grocery just a 3 min drive away and an AWESOME newly renovated track just across the street, making it easy to fit in my workout routine.
The place itself was immaculate. Extremely clean and tastefully put together. The kitchen was HEAVEN for a traveler like me who loves to cook and keep healthy. It was exceptionally equipped with pots, pans, utensils, and even basic food items like coffee, sugar, flour, oil and salt and pepper.
Upon arrival, she left us a very thoughtful plate of cheese and wine and beer.
The bathroom was very nice, complete with towels and nice products, and even a hairdryer and first aid kit.
Bed was very comfortable and washer/dryer were great to have on site.
Would definitely stay here again! Thanks Chanel :)
Thank you very much, Chanel! We were very comfortable at your apartment. It was private and clean and well located (we walked to the park and to Bellevue for breakfast). The welcome note as well as drink and sundries were a pleasant and welcomed surprise! It is clear that a lot of thought went into making this a homey and comfortable space...from the comfortable linens to the little notes to the thorough instructions for using the cable to the list of emergency numbers. We could have stayed at this apartment much longer and will stay again the next time we visit Bellevue! So glad that we chose Mayberry Charm for our stay. Best, Jenn and Jon (Austin, TX - (phone number hidden))
The best stay after a long day traveling. The apartment was larger than expected and so very clean.
There is a 24-hour grocery store located minutes from the house so we had the opportunity to get some snack for our short stay. Chanel had wine, cheese, and the best grapes I've ever had at the house for us.
The bed was very comfortable and from the kitchen window we had a nice little view of the mountains in the distance. What we loved most about this house was the location just 20 minutes from Seattle but so quiet and peaceful after a busy day in the city.
Chanel was pleasant, helpful, and easy to communicate with.
We had a wonderful experience in Chanel's guest house which was indeed very charming with vaulted ceilings and very tasteful decor. It's in a perfectly located quiet neighborhood with easy access to the city and to hiking, and within walking distance to several restaurants and groceries stores. I LOVED being welcomed after a long flight w a personalized note, bottle of wine, fresh fruit and cheese. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
What a little gem! My husband and I had the privilege of staying in Chanel's guest house for the last few days. We walked in on the first day to fresh flowers, wine, cheese and other goodies which was SO NICE after a long, grueling day at work.
The house is in a safe and quiet neighborhood, close to downtown Bellevue. The guest house is the perfect size for 1-2 people. Everything is clean and functioning, kitchen is well-stocked, bed is comfortable too! Best of all, Chanel is a wonderful and attentive host. She checked in with us frequently during our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would most definitely stay here again!
Chanel's apartment, and the hospitality extended, greatly exceeded my expectations. The apartment is beautifully, tastefully and comprehensively appointed; the kitchen is worthy of a full master chef! Full laundry (with thoughtfully provided detergent), iron and board were most welcome. When I arrived (late) the directions to access the apartment were exact and easy to follow.
The privacy was complete, and I only had the opportunity to meet Chanel once; at that brief meeting she was charming and helpful.
The apartment was scrupulously clean, the linen and towels were hotel-quality or better. When I arrived I was delighted to find not only a personalized greeting on the chalkboard, but a bottle of nice wine, sparkling water, cheese, fruit and crackers waiting for me.
When I was at Chanel's place, the weather was unseasonably hot. So hot that the modest ventilation of the above-garage apartment simply couldn't keep up. That's not something one generally designs for in the Seattle area, but more cooling and cross-breezes would have been welcomed.
Thanks to the prompt local Uber and Lyft services, and the easy walk (15-20 minutes) to cafes in Bellevue, it was not inconvenient to be in the quiet suburbs.
Easily a five star experience.
About the Host, Chanel
My husband Pat and I have three kids. Our two oldest are attending the University of Washington, merely six miles away, and our youngest is in high school. We try to ski as a family all winter, and head up to the San Juan Islands in the summer. This leads me to my next topic...
5 things I can't live without: My Family, My Friends, Good Wine, Good Rain Gear, and a Glue Gun. I think Pat might say: A Fishing Boat, Fishing Gear, Fishing License, Good Beer, and a Good Friend to fish with!
When we travel, we don't like to feel like tourists in a hotel; rather, we like to slip into the local culture and really get to know the area we're visiting. As a family, our favorite travel experience was staying in an apartment near Canyelles Beach, north of Lloret del Mar on the east coast of Spain. Wow! While we can't provide amazing surf and a beautiful sandy beach, my goal as a host is to offer a private home away from home where guests will experience what it's really like to live in a suburb smack in the middle of the Seattle and Bellevue metropolitan areas.
Speaking of fitting in...like the song lyrics suggest, "Always take the weather with you." A true Seattlelite rarely carries an umbrella, but wears layers of polartec and gortex ready to shed when that unsuspecting burst of sunshine reveals why we are known as the Emerald City.
