They don't tell you about an additional tax that you must pay before you check-in. This place is not what is pictured by the hotel- just FYI. It was extremely loud and our bathroom was very dirty and moldy. Of course, we knew it was in a horrible part of SF, but people smoking crack right outside the hotel on a Saturday morning in broad daylight is a whole other deal. The staff were friendly enough- but I would not tell or recommend ANYONE stay here. It was a get what you pay for type of thing plus some emotional scars.
Good for the price! Convenient location, everything is kind of old but good for people on a budget. Has everything you need: privacy, flat screen tv, microwave, fridge, mirrors, stocked bathroom complete w towels shampoo soap etc.
It was good. Exactly what I needed.
Great place for a great price!
Nice place with private clean room.
The area is not so good but it's very well connected.
Lovely place. Clean and quiet. Would clean our room every day. Kindly kept our luggage for a whole day after check out. Helpful personnel.
Did not mind that it was at the edge of Tenderloin. Area was decent. SF experience would not had been the same if not stayed there. Would stay there again.
This place is great. It is clean, it is cheap. Yes, it is in the Tenderloin. And it's not the greatest hotel. But it's really close to everything and for this price, you can't beat it. The employees are about 25% cranky and unapproachable and 75% really awesome. Especially Harry who was really helpful and kind.
The hotel was fine, it wasn't the most luxurious but it was also quite cheap. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nothing special, kinda like most motels have it in US. The generel area, the Tenderloin district, is quite shady and there are many dodgy types, but if you mind your own business and don't go out alone at night you should be fine. In generel there are many hotels in the Tenderloin district, because it's very close to attractions and city center (some would say it is part of the city center) and the rent in the area is cheap. In conclusion, good value for money, and close to attractions, but don't go out alone.
The neighborhood is a little bit on the dicey side. My friend and I were definitely hustling through the streets past the bums and less than savory people hanging out on every street corner.
The room rate was reasonable, however, I also had to pay a tax of about $52. Which, I was not expecting.
The walls are extremely thin so you can hear everything. From your neighbor showering next door (you feel like you're showering together) to the people working on the hotel windows at 8 am on a Friday morning. Not very pleasant when you just travelled from the East Coast and all you want to do is sleep.
The parking in the area is miserable. So, I gave in a paid $22/day for parking. The horrible part about valet is that you have to call 20-30 mins in advance. Well, on the day that I was leaving to go the airport, the car came 45 mins after I called. I was cutting it extremely close to catch my flight due to this delay.
The continental breakfast was surprisingly satisfying and decent. They came to clean the room every day and there is a fridge, tv, and microwave in the room. Additionally, you have access to free wi-fi in the room.
In summary, the room itself was great and served its purpose. The rest of the experience will definitely prevent my return.
