Other Things to Note
I travelled for years and enjoy giving guests what I needed while on the road...a temporary place to call home
Absolutely no smoking indoors or overnight guests who are not part of the original booking. Besides that, we're a pretty tolerant couple who have had great experiences so far! Check in is after 4 pm but we may be able to accomodate a slightly ealier check-in on some days if you contact us ahead of time. Absolutely no check-ins past 11 pm! We live upstairs and ask that you do not come upstairs to use our kitchen since we both work odd hours and often have irregular sleep schedules. If you have questions or concerns while we're home, just send a text to make sure we're available, thanks!
Julie's home was perfect for my 15 year old son and myself. Clean and cozy with a refrigerator and microwave. Excellent shower (great water pressure.) Nice clean neighborhood. But most of all we felt as if we were coming home every day after our sight seeing. Julie was a great and informative host.
This review is written by Param's wife Jessica, for both of us. Julie is the most wonderful host we can even imagine. This is the second time staying with her and we were absolutely thrilled her place was available because we loved staying with her and her family so much the first time! The second time was absolutely as magical. Julie is so welcoming, warm, thoughtful, considerate, and delightful that I immediately felt i was staying with friends. Julie's place is very beautifully decorated and appointed, totally clean and fresh with a very lovely feel to the room, with everything I needed and more. There is also a very lovely river and woods just half a block from the house with walking trails etc. I adore staying with Julie and her family! For me the experience demonstrated the greatness and full potential of airbnb. I am so grateful for the opportunity.
This accomodation was absolutely amazing! Everything was very clean and comfy. We had our bathroom and table for having breakfast. Julie is very friendly, really nice personalisty.
Julie makes you feel very welcome and comfortable the listing description was most accurate. The neighbor hood was residential and very safe. Will stay at this location again!
We stayed at Julie's home while visiting Washington DC and it was our best air bnb experience we had so far. Julie was just wanderful host providing us with lots of useful hints, with 'feel like at home' atmosphere. The room was nice and clean providing enough privacy for me and my fiance, with nice private bathroom. We liked everything about our stay in Arlington (free parking, reasonable distance from Washington, Julie' concert by Capitol, we liked little princess Alexis very much and we enjoyed Minu's company). Thank Julie for everything :)
Staying at Julie's place was excellent. From the start she was very (email hidden)ing to hold a parking place for me, making me feel very welcome, and making sure I had fruit and water in the fridge (even a nice cold beer on a way hot day). The space is very private, with awesome water pressure in the shower! Julie thinks of all the small details that make you feel right at home. She was always just a text message away, and a very fast response time, and open to helping out in any way.
Our stay at Julie's place was just what we needed after a hiking trip from Shenandoah Park. We felt like home with warm shower, cool room and tons of tea. As other people have mentioned, place is very clean, comfy, private in a good neighborhood. Julie is very quick to address any issue. We will love to come back again.

About the Host, Julie
Quirky girl from Massachusetts, love all kinds of music, friendly stray cats, other peoples' dogs, inspired by bold art, nature, and people who make me think. I daydream all the time about living somewhere warm, hopefully by the ocean so I can wear sundresses and sandals year-round. For now, I take advantage of all that DC has to offer...concerts, free museums, and wonderful restaurants.
Our home is in Arlington, part of the original grid for DC. It's essentially an extension of our nation's capital. You'll find authentic Ethiopian, Guatemalan, El Salvadorean and Southern American "soul food" along Columbia Pike, Arlington's original Main Street. We also live near Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse which shows movies on Monday Tuesdays and Wednesdays for $2 to $3 and comedy on the weekends. If you want a truly American experience, admission is FREE during American football season. Food and entertainment aside, the best perk is the expansive park at the end of our street, a literal runners and bicycle riders oasis.
Before becoming a mom, I traveled extensively and spent many nights in hotels or with host families, the latter being MUCH more preferable. I'm enjoying being on the other end as a host who can provide weary travelers with a good night's rest that is better than what you would get at a noisy chain hotel in the city. Come find out for yourselves what makes our home the "Best of Both Worlds."
