Staying in this room was a great choice. For someone who enjoys walking, it was great to be able to stroll into the city without being in a tourist area (or take the train/bus which were incredibly close). I spent a lot of time on the terrace enjoying the fantastic view. The host was in China but even so she made sure everything was going well. Her friend Elena was also a great person to chat with. Would recommend to any solo traveller.
The house is nicely located .. about 35 minutes walk to the Colosseum. But, if you don't fancy the walk, you can get the bus, which is just right around the corner, into the city. It goes by all the major tourist spots. Tickets for the bus can be bought just around the corner from the bus stop on the left. The underground train is very close as well and can bring you right to the Vatican in 20 minutes.
The host, Jade, is very nice and was very involved in making sure everything went smoothly. She is currently in HK but made every effort to make sure I arrived at the house easily, and I even talked to her on the phone when I arrived. During my stay her friend Elena stayed in the house. She was also very nice and very welcoming.
A massive bonus in this house is the balcony. It was always quite lovely to wake up in the morning and walk out onto the balcony with a cup of coffee. Likewise at night time. The sunset also in the evening was really nice. After a long day walking in the city, it was always nice to come back to the balcony.
There was full use of the kitchen and free coffee. There were also some snacks available. There's a local store just beside the apartment where you can buy groceries. The area is pretty quiet, and there are lots of little places around to grab a bite.
My only qualm is that the kitchen was left a little untidy at times, and the fridge was a little unkempt. But Elena had a friend stay over for a few days so she was using the facilities also. I think this may have been a once off thing, as upon informing Jade of the extra person, she was quite surprised also.
All in all, this was a nice place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to anybody when travelling to Rome.
The apartment is easy to get to from the airport and the streets are safe to walk at nights. Using the metro I could get just about anywhere in Rome and the main attractions are so close that even if I was out late and couldn't get a bus or tram walking was always an option.
The house is simple and comfortable with cooking facilities, 9th floor balcony with a beautiful view of Rome and St John Lateran. I ate pizza on the balcony every night and watched the sun go down. Coco pizza is in the same building and it's amazing. There's also a supermarket on the ground floor with everything you need.
Jade was incredibly helpful with things like finding buses to the air port and making me feel welcome. Overall my stay in Rome was great:)
Saying at Jade's home was the best decision I made for my trip to Rome. The location cannot be better, it is a great family neighborhood and the property is exactly as described and pictured. In addition, restaurants, cafes, and bars are all around this area, so you never have to walk more than 5 minutes to find a great place for a meal. There is a supermarket next to the building and a street market one block away. The place is so accessible, the subway is three blocks away and a bus stop one block away that takes you to the main attractions. It really is a serene and peaceful oasis, and definitely a place where you could relax after a long day of sightseeing. Jade is extremely kind and a great host, always ready to help. You cannot put into words the genuine warmth and care of her. She is always ready to answer questions and to give advice. She really have thought of everything that you could possibly want or need. Jade also suggested that I could to leave my luggage in her home in case I still wanted to explore the city. I would definitely recommend this place!
Nice place to stay for a city trip. Fantastic view on the city from the roof of the appartement. The host is very kind!
Jade's place had a lovely view, and the bed was quite comfortable. The room was bigger than I thought, and was connected to a large shared balcony which I enjoyed very much every morning and night. Jade was a very nice host, and she occasionally messaged me asking if there's anything she could help. Elena, who is Jade's roommate, was also very helpful and welcoming during my stay. Although the location is a little bit out of the center, and there were some noise from the train station every night, in overall, I am thankful for both Jade and Elena for my great experience in Rome!
Jee Hyung the flat is in a very central location in Rome, perhaps you don't realise how big Rome actually is since your visit was so short... Anyways, the room is fitted with double glazing on the windows and a fan, so there's no need to leave the windows open all night like you did. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and do come back next time and I will show you more of Rome :)
Jade was very accommodating prior to my arrival and her roommate was very helpful with upon my arrival while Jade was away. The room is clean and comfortable for a person traveling to Rome. It was also far enough to the tourists but close to the metro so you can get anywhere. Thanks again!
DEAR GARVEY, I AM REALLY GLAD THAT THE BOOKING WENT SMOOTHLY AS THE PREVIOUS GUEST, A GUY (FROM HONG KONG!!) THAT USES A FAKE NAME, WAS REALLY STRANGE AND WE HAD A BIT OF A NIGHTMARE WITH HIM, MOST GOOD BED LINEN WAS UNAVAILABLE AFTER HIS BOOKING AND HE LEFT THE PLACE SO DIRTY I WAS TEMPTED TO SUGGEST YOU COULD FIND ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION. LUCKILY IT ALL WENT OK AND YOU HAD A GOOD TIME, I'M REALLY GLAD IT DID AND I HEARD YOU WERE VERY NICE TO SHARE WITH, YOU ARE WELCOMED AT ANY TIME AND PERHAPS WE COULD GO FOR COFFEE IN HONG KONG ONCE!
