Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • This studio apartment is cosy and quiet, facing the alley way and located in a lovely neighborhood with tons of mid to high-end eateries. Whilst taking a bus is a possibility to get to other parts of DC, e.g. National Mall (as advertised), Georgetown, etc, it would be much more convenient with a car, which was what we ended up doing. Parking is available at the back of the unit and needs to be requested ahead of time, although Kevin was accommodating and able to help make it work. I met Matthias and he was a nice and friendly man, who brought us a few additional requested items, being very responsive to emails/texts. The sleeping nook now contains a nice foldable one-person chairbed which was sufficiently comfortable. We (3 in the party) used the sofabed / floor for our luggages, although a duo could totally use the sleeping nook area (with the chair bed folded up!). The in-unit washer/dyer was very useful for us since we stayed close to a week. I would recommend this highly for 2 travelers.

  • We had a wonderful stay in the Bird's Nest. Although it is a bit smaller than the pictures make it seem, it was more than enough room for two people. It was so nice to have a mini fridge, microwave, glassware and utensils for bringing home leftovers or storing stuff for a quick and easy cereal breakfast. It's in a great location for anyone who is visiting AU students. There are plenty of nice shops and restaurants right there on MacArthur. It's a simple trip to the D6 bus which will take you to the National Mall within about 30 minutes. Charlotte and Matthias were great hosts, very easy to communicate with and made the whole process very quick and simple. I'll definitely stay here again next time I make a trip to DC to visit my brother.

  • The Bird's Nest was a cozy self-contained unit that was well appointed and with all necessities in a bright space. Bonus to have in-unit laundrey. Many fine eating establishments and amenities plus bus stops just outside the door made this a most convenient home base in a quiet residential area. Would highly recommend for people who don't mind a few stairs. Very welcoming and accomodating hosts, with detailed directions/helpful hints for touring the area provided.

  • The Place was very tidy, very clean, very lovely and more than satisfactory. I especially love that Charlotte and Mathias were so helpful. I would most definitely recommend the Bird's Nest to anyone looking for a place in the area. Thank you so much Charlotte for all your extra help, thank you.

  • I was expecting something bigger, but the location is very good and the neighborhood is pretty. We felt completely safe walking around in the evenings, especially checking out all the great restaurants which are in walking distance. It's a very cozy place to end the day.

  • Nice neighborhood and cute place. Just what we wanted for a family of three visiting Georgetown and the Mall. Bus D6 makes it possible without a car and the Nextbus app showed us the time countdown. Just 15 minutes to Georgetown and 45 minutes to 12th & E.

There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week. A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the "must-see" sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation. We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit. Charlotte Perry Founder, LUXbnb Your short-stay source in Washington.
