Laugardalur (10 min walk) (Hot Spring Valley) is a major centre for sports and recreation in the capital. In Laugardalur you will find the largest outdoor thermal pool in Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug, in which you can swim all year round. It is very hard to describe the experience of tip-toeing over frozen ground in your swimsuit and immersing yourself in gorgeous water that nature (and some ingenious Icelandic geothermal engineering) has thoughtfully heated to just the right temperature, but the number of returning visitors definitely suggests it’s worth trying.
Laugardalur also has free entry to our beautiful Botanical Garden, with woods, ponds and birdlife. Beneath the branches the lovely Café Flora is a hidden gem.
The Family Park and Zoo in Laugardalur is open all year. The Zoo includes most Icelandic animals, both wild and domesticated, from foxes, reindeer and seals to cattle, horses and sheep. In summer the Family Park offers many rides and play equipment for children of all ages. Outside the summer season the Family Park remains open as a play area.
At the edge of the Laugardalur valley, not far from Laugardalur Arena, is a strangely shaped, domed white building. It is known as the Reykjavik Art Museum’s Ásmundarsafn sculpture collection. This used to be the studio of Asmundur Sveinsson (phone number hidden)), a pioneer of Icelandic sculpture. In addition to his works exhibited inside the museum, a sculpture garden outside contains many of his monumental works.
Reebok Fitness & Supermarket is 5 minute walk away from the apartment.
Cleaning service in included.

I had a wonderful time at the house. Thank you for everything !!
I had a great stay at Rosa's place. The bed was cozy, I had plenty of room to keep my things and everyone I met there were very nice. Highly recommended!
Really great value and a great place to stay. Only 15 minutes outside of town and the bus is very convenient. Wireless internet was fast and the bed was extremely comfortable. Highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a great combination of comfort and value.
Great apartment, I would definitely stay there again. Rosa's husband made me feel right at home :)
The room was spacious and Rosa and her family were very polite and welcoming. The house itself is roughly a 15 minute bus ride to the city center or you can walk if the weather is nice - that should only take 40 minutes. One great thing about walking is you can go through the botanical gardens which is only 5 minutes away. She also has bikes that you can borrow which allows you to go all around town and get a better feel for the layout of Reyjkavik.
There are two small dogs that will occasionally bark but they never create much of a nuisance.
Do not expect this for yourselves, but for the first few nights I was fortunate to be placed in a room located downtown because the room I requested wasn't available at the time. Although the room was much smaller, the centrality of the location was an equal trade off and made it easier to experience the night life of Reykjavik.
Rosa and her husband were very nice and helpful hosts. They gave us useful tips and advice on Reykjavik and the rest of the country.
The room was really clean and spacious. We were only 3 minutes by car to the centre and from the best swimming pool ever! We would definitely recommend people staying there!
Stayed in Reykjavik with 7 of my friends, Rosa was amazingly helpful, the apartment was very homely, clean and had plenty of space.
I will recommend to a friend
Rosa Bjork was very flexible and nice! Even though we did a last-minute change with our booking, she could accomodate us!
The room/flat was very clean and nicely furnished. There was even a washer, small kitchen and en-suite bathroom.
The only minus is that the place is a bit far from the center. However, we took the bus (14 or 12), which leaves that corner of town on every half-hour, so one is still easily connected to central Reykjavik.
Rosa was a gracious hostess! Everything was so generously laid out for us. My sister and I had originally booked a room in an apartment through Rosa, but she offered to upgrade us to a studio for the same price. She was so great with timely correspondence, too. I would highly, highly recommend her!
