About this listing
This is a bright, modern apartment with a great view located close to the heart of the Lower East Side with a couple of quiet blocks separating you and saving you from the noise. Terrific bars, food, and shops at the best prices in NY are all around.
This is a bright studio on the 6th floor of a renovated Lower East Side Manhattan building. I rent this apartment out when I travel away. I have an elevator, a rooftop, and a Juliet balcony with a lovely unobstructed skyline view of the sunset. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer on our building's rooftop patio. The AC/Heat is a large reliable built in unit. On the tech side, I have high speed wifi (apple hardware), amazon fire stick tv, and a local antennae for a 32" lcd tv. I run netflix, hulu, and hbogo over the internet on the fire stick instead of cable tv. I have a iphone + auxiliary capable boombox next to the bed (great sound), and a big jambox for you to rock out to (at appropriate times ;)
The kitchen is well equipped with non-stick pans, very sharp knives, and bamboo utensils. The restaurants nearby are the best dollar-for-dollar in all of the city. You can find many excellent independent restaurants with fresh food and great ambience serving lunch and dinner for $10-$15. Authentic Italian, check. Amazing fresh gelato or ice cream, check. Superb tapas and wine, check. Mexican with an amazing tequila selection and grapefruit margaritas, check. You get the gist.
At this location, you're just a two short blocks from Clinton St and the bustling area of the Lower East Side. You're also 2 blocks into relative quiet and calm. I've lived in Nolita, the East Village, and Williamsburg, and this is my favorite location to visit and live out of all of them.
If you're looking to enjoy downtown Manhattan, this may be the perfect place.
Guests have access to the apartment, the rooftop, and laundry in the basement.
Nothing is “off limits", but please practice discretion and avoid going through personal things. For example, the armoire on the left is usually filled with my stuff, so you shouldn't need to go in there.
Interaction with Guests
I may meet and greet guests when they arrive when I can. You'll be on your own once you've reached the apartment, and until you leave. If you need assistance, contact me and I'll come by or attempt to solve your issue remotely.
Bicycles are available to rent from a citibike station a the end of this very block. It's lovely to ride across the Williamsburg Bridge. We have bike lanes going to and from our location all the way through Soho and over to the West side. Or you can walk right into the LES or the East Village in no time. 15 minutes walking and you're in Soho. 5 minutes walking East and you're at the new renovated East River Park boardwalk along the river.
The subway is a 7 minute walk away. You can head up into Manhattan on the F, down to the World Trade Center on the J, or you can hop into Brooklyn in just a stop or 2 in the other direction. Uber is now a big car transportation option, and you'll find plenty of uber and lyft service in the area. If you need to start an account, let me know and I'll send you a referral for a free ride.
We're pretty chill with rules. No pets (exceptions are made occasionally), no smoking (no exceptions), don't do anything you wouldn't want someone to do to your home (i.e. break stuff or go through obviously private areas), and don't do anything to upset the neighbors. You can have friends on the roof and have fun, but reign it in immediately if anyone expresses concern (which is usually never).
