This is a bright studio on the 6th floor of a recently renovated LES building. We rent this apartment out when we travel away. We have an elevator, a rooftop, and a Juliet balcony with a lovely unobstructed skyline view of the sunset. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer on our building's rooftop patio. The AC/Heat is a large reliable built in unit. On the tech side, we have high speed wifi (apple hardware), an xbox kinect, a 13" macbook and a 32" lcd tv. We run netflix, hulu, and hbogo over the internet on the xbox and macbook instead of cable tv. We have a iphone + auxiliary capable boombox next to the bed (great sound), and another lightweight iphone dock speaker in the bathroom so you can shower to your tunes and charge up.
The kitchen is well equipped with non-stick pans, very sharp knives, and bamboo utensils. The restaurants nearby are the best dollar-for-dollar in all of the city. You can find many excellent independent restaurants with fresh food and great ambience serving lunch and dinner for $10-$15. Authentic Italian, check. Amazing fresh gelato or vegan ice cream, check. Superb tapas and wine, check. Mexican with amazing margaritas, check. You get the gist.
At this location, you're just a two short blocks from Clinton St and the bustling area of the Lower East Side. You're also 2 blocks into relative quiet and calm. I've lived in Nolita, the East Village, and Williamsburg, and this is my favorite location to visit and live out of all of them.
Bicycles are available to rent and ride across the Williamsburg Bridge. We have bike lanes going to and from our location all the way through Soho and over to the West side. Or you can walk right into the LES or the East Village in no time. 15 minutes walking and you're in Soho. 5 minutes walking East and you're at the new renovated East River Park boardwalk along the river.
If you're looking to enjoy downtown Manhattan, this may be the perfect place.
We're pretty chill with rules. No pets (exceptions are made occasionally), no smoking (no exceptions), don't do anything you wouldn't want someone to do to your home (i.e. break stuff or go through obviously private areas), and don't do anything to upset the neighbors. You can have friends on the roof and have fun, but reign it immediately in if anyone expresses concern (which is usually never).
Where do we start...?! We have nothing but positive comments about Zeb, Mar and this amazing studio on the LES. Zeb and Mar were quick to respond and so helpful with any and all questions. The studio itself is in a great security building with a lift. As many have mentioned, the rooftop and views are spectacular. The location is pretty unbeatable - subway an easy walk, walking distance to Soho, Nolita, the Brooklyn Bridge, endless options for eating and drinking. We can't recommend this place enough! You won't be disappointed. We would definitely stay again.
Zeb and Mar were great hosts for our week there. The apt was clean and well equipped with anything we needed for the kitchen. The roof top view was one of the best we found in the city. The location was central to schitybikes, grocery stores, and amazing food. After walking around NYC for a week i would say that the les is one of the best places to stay. Easy walk to everything you would want including chinatown, subways, and the great old school food of Houston street. When we come back this pad is a first choice for sure!
We had a great week staying at Zeb's place, we had everything we needed, the most comfortable bed ever, great powerful shower, oven, microwave, fridge freezer (not that we cooked), Internet, Xbox with netflicks etc. we mainly just slept here but if we had been stuck in it would not have been a problem. The view from the roof is amazing and the view from the bedroom window is also fantastic, I miss seeing the glittering buildings at night time from the bed! The neighbourhood is great, the apartment is on a very quiet street (considering its New York!) but super close to all the best places on the lower east side. I couldn't have found a better place to stay. Zeb was always super quick to reply to any messages. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!
Zeb's place is in a great East Village location, wonderful to have such a nice place to retire to after the excitement of New York and Zeb was always there online to help. Extra note, his local eatery Rustic was one of the star finds in NY, yummy food as Zeb says.
We've had a great stay. Perfect location for exploring NYC and a great skyline view. Zeb answered our questions very quickly. Would recommend this apartment any time.
We spent our 2 week vacation in this apartment - and it was great! The contact to Zeb & Mar was always super quick and friendly. The apartment is not big, but has everything one needs - including wonderful extras like awesome views of the New York skyline! The best part is the very central location. You can get to just about anywhere in NYC with public transport in half an hour. And the immediate neighborhood is absolutely great: very lively with many nice little shops and restaurants! Still the street itself is relatively quiet, which is a big plus. Honestly we didn't want to leave when our vacation was over ;)
