Saint Augustine, Florida, United States

The Lincolnville Historic District neighborhood is a friendly and welcoming residential community filled with charming architecture and personalities. You will find that the neighborhood is diverse with many interesting people of various backgrounds, and that they care about their community.

There are several active and welcoming churches in the Lincolnville Historic District, three of which can be seen from the front porch of the cottage.

There are four (4) restaurants in the Lincolnville Historic District- The Blue Hen; the Ice Plant Bar; The Preserved; and Crave Food Truck.

Tony's Barber Shop and The Corner Market grocery store are just around the block on the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and De Haven Street from the cottage, and a museum as well.

Lincolnville was a victim of redlining by the Federal Government and the private sector, the evidence of which still exists to this day. I encourage anyone who is not familiar with the practice of redlining to probe the subject.

Bear in mind that St. Augustine is over 450 years old, and every neighborhood in Downtown St. Augustine contains buildings that are in disrepair and could use a bit of work, including Lincolnville. If you don't wish see buildings that are architecturally contributing while perhaps in need of a little or a lot of work, then Lincolnville, or other neighborhoods Downtown, may not be the correct fit for you. Lincolnville in particular is experiencing a period of revitalization, so don't allow the derelict architecturally contributing buildings deter you from the rich history that the neighborhood and Downtown have to offer.

A friendly note: If you're prejudice and/or can't handle diversity, then you may not want to stay Downtown.

Grew up on a farm in Charlottesville, Virginia. Graduated from Flagler College in 2012. I'm now a full-time host who lives near the rentals I manage.
During your stay
I live in the neighborhood, so I am around while respecting the privacy of guests.

I water the plants in front of the cottage and mow the grass when needed, so you may see me outside then.

I am involved and very knowledgeable about the community and surrounding area, and will be happy to help if you are looking for a great local restaurant; gluten free food; farmers' market; directions; outdoor activities; night life; etc.
