I stayed at Claire's for the second time, everything was ok, just like the first time.
I think the price is fair for what you get.
The apartment looks exactly as it does in the pictures. It is clean and well maintained and has pretty much every appliance you will need.
All appliances work fine - from the heaters to the hair dryer -, the linens and towels are clean and look rather new. One thing that I worried about was the sofa-bed but, personally, it was really comfortable.
Even though the building is "classic Paris" - which is lovely, imo -, it does have an elevator, which is not really easy to find in the city (especially at this price point). I thought it was also really quiet, since I could not hear any of the neighbours (and there are children in the building).
The neighborhood is quiet and safe, during both day and night, and still few blocks from Oberkampf and Canal Saint Martin, with restaurants and bars open til later at night. There are also a good amount of markets, restaurants, pharmacies and boulangeries around, as well as a laundry place just across the street.
As far as transportation, there are a couple of subway stations nearby and also bus stops - there is a bus line that stops a couple blocks away that cross the city right to Champ de Mars - so you can navigate your way around the city fairly easy.
I never met Claire, but she left me all the information I needed - from codes and getting the keys to which transportation I should take to get there - and was constantly checking if everything was fine with the apartment and my stay.
Claire's apartment was everything we needed for our whole week of stay in Paris. The location is great, the metro is 2min by foot, the area is good and overall the experience we had with Claire as a host was good although we haven't met her during our stay. The apartment was pretty much clean when we arrived and had all the essentials needed. I would recommend this place to anyone who plans to explore Paris during the whole day and just use this place for sleeping.
There seems to be an electricity issue. Sometimes when I plugged my computer I could actually feel electricity running through it which is extremely dangerous.
It was fairly clean but there was food stuck on some of the plates, and there were stains on the sheets even though they seemed to have been cleaned.
Cool bathroom, spacious shower (however it was clogged so it took about 20 minutes to empty itself out)
I never saw Claire. No one welcomed me to the flat. I got the keys from a concierge from a next door place. I did not have the code to the building or knew which flat it was as none of these informations had been provided to me. When I did ask for them, the answers were rather curt and hasty. Not flexible on arrival or departure hours (you must pay 5 euros if you arrive outside certain hours) unlike many lovely hosts on airbnb.
The flat is well equipped and quiet. The bed is rather uncomfortable. Very convenient neighborhood. I must note that I know of several apartments on Airbnb that are in the same price range but more clean and with extremely helpful hosts (and comfortable beds). So this wasn’t my best experience. But it wasn’t bad either. Again: quiet, well-equipped, good location, fairly clean.
Claire's apartment was everything we needed. Cosy bed, comfortable bathroom, a small kitchen, good wifi and good location. In the neighborhood you can find restaurants, pizza, supermarkets, everything! we didn't meet Claire but she was always nice and fast to respond. Her explanations on how to get the keys and to get to the apartment were very easy and very well explained. I totally recommend this place and recommend Claire!
