I am still staying at the ashram. A beautiful place with a great chance to ne exposed to meditation. I stayed in Ubud center for 3 weeks and when I cam here, i knew what I was looking for. Recommend the place to the people who want to explore themselves rather than for the sake of travelling!!
I've stayed in 5 different places in Bali and highly recommend the ashram for spiritual travelers. During breakfast, you will meet other fellow spiritual seekers and have great conversations (and a great meal). 3 times a day there is guided meditation, and you have exposure to guru Krishna on several occasions for questions. There is a mediation center of can always access for practice as well. The grounds are well-kept, facilities are clean, and the vibe is peaceful and serene. Herny, Yudha and other staff and volunteers are all kind and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and learned a lot during my stay. I would definitely go back!
Herni and Yuda were very welcoming, helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. Yuda is an amazing cook, we ordered food the day before so that he could get up early and buy the fresh ingredients from the market in Ubud to make the most delicious meals for us. Herni teaches Kundalini yoga in the morning and her class was the perfect way to start the day. There is also meditation 3 times a day in the beautiful meditation room above the yoga pavilion that looks out to the rice fields. Also don't miss out on relaxing in the library, there are a wide selection of great books to read. Our room was very clean, simple and everything that we needed for our stay. It was on the top floor and overlooked the rice fields. There was some construction going on next door as they are building a resort so during the hours of 8am to 5pm it can get quite noisy with trucks, banging and some loud machinery in use. Apart from that we loved staying at the ashram, we met some beautiful people, ate tasty food and joined in with the chanting, yoga and kirtan night. Next time we are in Ubud we will be back.
The Ashram is a beautiful place and my room was fine. Hot shower, mozzie nets, etc. however the service is a little off putting. The description warns that the ashram isn't a hotel but the management could have been more friendly. I often felt as if I wasn't welcome.
Thank you for leaving a review. The lively conversation and bonding are usually happened when people engage in group activities like morning yoga, meditation or meals where everyone can meet and share their stories. We regret that we don't have many chances to meet so you often felt you wasn't welcome. We will take this as a feedback to encourage guest to engage more in the Ashram activities. Namaste.
The rooms are nice, and the Ashram is beautiful and offers lovely meditation three times daily. The hosts are welcoming, attentive and make the most delicious food upon request. Everything was perfect and clean, with very friendly staff, and a peaceful environment. Recommended if you want to stay put and enjoy some peace, for Ubud tourism it might be better to stay more central. But with a scooter the odd trip to town is easy (too far and uphill for bicycling). I would always like to visit again for a more spiritual break.
Great place to stay, lovely hosts and a chance to really unwind & meditate
