Relax at our unique and peaceful getaway in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck. The Knap, an annexe of our home, is close to many of Dorset's famous beauty spots along the Jurassic Coast, such as Corfe Castle, Studland Beach and Old Harry Rocks. During your stay you'll have the place to yourselves, including a fully equipped kitchen, luxurious bathroom, (with bath and shower), and a living space including a sumptuous double bed, sofa-bed and table. The space
The Knap is a self contained annexe situated on the ground floor of our family home where we have lived on the beautiful Isle of Purbeck for over 25 years. You'll have your own access, to the rear of the property, through a pretty green stable door and into a perfect little country kitchen. To the right is a spacious double bedroom and living area with dining table, chairs and a sofa bed (£20 for additional bedding for sofa bed). The en-suite at the far side of the annexe offers a luxury free-standing cast iron bath and shower. You'll have access to a section of our garden, including a BBQ, outdoor seating and stunning views across the fields to Nine Barrow Down. There is a wood fired hot-tub in the garden, which is available to rent at certain times in the year, for a fee of £40 per night (£70 for two nights). We'll provide a welcome hamper including bread, milk, home made jam and freshly laid eggs from our chickens (when they are laying!). We live in the main house, and the annexe is a self contained part of the house,giving you privacy and security at all times.
Guest access
Parking is available on our drive and the garden path will lead you round to the rear of our home, to The Knap. You'll have access to your own private entrance. You will need a car or to arrive on foot or by bike, as there is no public transport at Knitson. However, the local taxi firms offer an excellent and reasonably priced service to Swanage, which is only 10 minutes away, and to other local villages, pubs and restaurants. From Swanage and the villages you can catch the bus to Bournemouth, via the chain ferry at Studland, or to Poole, via Corfe Castle. There's even a steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle, which you'll hear tooting from the garden at The Knap!

We have lived and worked in Dorset for the last 25 years. We live just outside Swanage. We love the Isle of Purbeck and the quality of life it offers - it is a beautiful place to live, work and bring up a family - and many people who come here to visit, end up coming back to stay, that's exactly what happened to us!
