This home is located in the city of Milwaukee, but on the northwest side of the city, about 7 miles from downtown Milwaukee, and only 2 miles from downtown Wauwatosa, which is a quaint village with restaurants and shops.
This private room, named after my maternal grandmother, includes a full size with sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. There is a parking space in the alley behind the house and plenty of alternate street parking is available free for three nights (registration done online at time of arrival).
This two story, air conditioned, hardwood floors throughout, brick colonial is located in a peaceful neighborhood and has three available bedrooms, all on the second floor. The bedroom would share a bath (shower / tub) with owner and potential other guests. There is also a half bath in the lower level. There is a nice size deck with a pub table and chairs and firepit in the backyard.
For those that might be allergic to cats, Kiko (grey tabby) likes to keep to herself and is fine if you completely ignore her.
A light, simple, self-serve continental breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, milk, fruit and pastry) is available. We also offer a sweet treat upon arrival.
When you arrive you'll notice a Little Free Library in the front yard. The concept behind the library is promote literacy and the philosophy is to "take a book and leave a book". There are no due dates on books taken from the library and they can be returned to any Little Free Library. Bring a book with you on your trip to Milwaukee, feel free to leave one in the library, but if you don't have a book feel free to still help yourself to a book to enjoy during your stay or on your travels.
Please ask if there are things you forgot at home:
* cork screw

This was our first experience with AirBnB and we really enjoy staying with Dawn at her lovely, comfortable home. She made us feel at home during the two months of out stay.
She was very helpful, and gave us all the information we needed about the Milwaukee area, and the house had everything we needed.
We enjoyed together on Halloween, visiting the Farmer Market, toasting marshmallows... and we'll miss her muffins!
We would highly recommend Cream City Colonial.
Dawn was a superb host! Generous, thoughtful and we had a wonderful stay. Her lemon starts and raspberry muffins are delicious!
Dawn was such a welcoming and engaging host with a beautiful house in lovely Milwaukee. We were passing through Milwaukee and had made a last minute request to stay in the area and Dawn came to our rescue. She accommodated our very late check-in and welcomed us with delicious lemon bars. The room and bed were nice and comfy and we could not have lucked out more after a long day on the road. I highly recommend Dawn if you are staying in the area. Wish we were able to stay longer!
I am definitely recommending Dawn's place to family and friends. Dawn was quick to respond and welcome us to her home for three nights. She made it very easy to find her home and check in, even though she was not there. Her home is very clean and nicely decorated, with many creative touches to make it a cozy stay, and to make you feel welcomed. I usually have trouble adjusting to other beds when traveling, but I found this bed to be very comfortable, and had a good night's sleep all three nights.
My husband and I were there for the Irish fest and to see the city of Milwaukee. I was a bit disappointed we didn't have a little more time to get to know our host. Dawn quickly makes you feel like you've known her forever.
Dawn had fresh homemade baked goods for our breakfast each morning that were delicious. She also had a nice variety of other breakfast foods to choose from. Even though we weren't able to see much of her, she left us little notes each day so we'd know what were the breakfast options. Although, we only saw her briefly one night, we did have the opportunity to have a delighful visit with her just before leaving Sunday.
We found that the twenty minute drive into Milwaukee from her home was a quick and easy drive. Dawn pointed out the little village of Wauatosa to us that has a great Farmer's Market we visited on Saturday. It also has many nice Restaurants and shops, well worth it and only a six minute drive from Dawm's place. Although we didn't walk around her neighborhood we did comment that if we had time it would be a nice little area to take a walk.
Nice little neighborhood a short drive from the city center. Dawn was so nice, with home cooked food, and all creature comforts you'd normally find at a B&B.
Wonderful home, an excellent host, and an enjoyable stay!
Great experience. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Dawn had breakfast and coffee available each morning. I would stay there again.
Dawn had a heaping helping of hospitality ready for me and my girlfriend the second we opened the door to her house! First, the aroma of baked goods filled the air and then Dawn was there with a big smile and a warm welcome. While we were only staying for the night, she enticed us to stay a while longer to enjoy some coffee and blueberry muffins, while taking in the fresh morning air on her back deck.
This was our first AirBnB experience, and we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant one. Dawn was available and knowledgeable, but also left us to our privacy. It really felt like staying at a friend's house even though we had just met.
There is no doubt in our minds, we will be staying with Dawn again in the future! Great experience.

It is my pleasure to serve / assist others visiting the Milwaukee area with Midwest hospitality. I've studied Hotel & Restaurant Management and offer rooms in my colonial style home at an affordable price to my guests.
My interests include home decorating, perennial gardening, cooking, baking, reading, knitting, sewing, and other DIY crafts.
My goal is to make your stay in Milwaukee the most enjoyable and provide you with excellent customer service (leave you alone if that is what you prefer or socialize with you about the area and discover areas of interests for you).
I look forward to meeting you and sharing with you all that Milwaukee and the surrounding areas have to offer.
