Kerem was a very thoughtful host, and his apartment provided me a nice home-away-from-home during my stay in New York City. The apartment was clean, centrally located, and easily accessible via NY Penn Station (which connected directly to my airport in Newark by train). Overall, I would recommend Kerem as a host.
Great location - and friendly host. Thanks!
Nice building. KB was really kind.
Great area. Room is fine. Building is really nice and safe.
Staying in Kevin's apartment was really perfect for me. It's at a really good location in Chelsea, one of the nicest area's in Manhattan. The building is nice, the apartment was clean and big enough and the room and bathroom where clean as well and big enough for me (two could fit easily as well). There are subway stations nearby and shops, food and bars are also just outside the building.
I didn't met Kevin but I met his roommate and he was really friendly. He helped me with some questions I had about the city and he was really open and friendly. He showed me the city and some nice places, but he also let me do my own thing (mainly business which was the reason for my stay).
I would advise you to go to these guys because they're honest, real people, very trustworthy and fun to hang out with.
Thanks again guys!
location location location!!! This studio loft is in awesome location for anyone who wants to be in manhattan. its a very cozy apt and kerem was very helpful.
The apartment is in a great location by a deli and pizza joint. The only issue I have is how crazy small the bathroom was and the showerhead had no pressure. Like trying to shower in light rain. The place is really small so be forwarned, but you shouldn't be staying in much because you are in NYC!! Also for what you pay you can't do much better. Kareem was nice and friendly and offered to take us out. Payment was no issue and we found the place nice and clean, with made beds. Has a decent tv, fridge, microwave. The only major qualm I had was with the sleeping arrangements. There were four of us so I knew it would be crammed, but beware of the air-mattress. It slowly leaks out through the night and then you wake up in pain after a night slept on the hard tile. I asked Kareem to fix or replace it and he replied but never came around. That was the only issue. Otherwise had a great time and would definitely consider returning.
Although we never got to meet Kerem we communicated easily through email, and his friend who let us in was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean, and exactly as it looks in the photos. It was a very cute apartment and in an excellent location! It was a 10 minute walk to the Empire State Building! There were 4 of us staying in this apartment, and although it was a little tight it was well worth it for the price, and no more cramped then a hostel would have been.
The only thing that brought this place down was that some parts of the apartment weren't set up to cater for 4 people, even though they advertised it for 4. For example there was only enough cutlery for 2 and no cups/mugs at all. Also although the double mattress was a "real bed" the others were a camping bed and an air bed.
We had to stop at Times Square to meet up with the host. He didnt accompany to the apartment. We had to make it on our own. The apartment was dirty and there was a dead beatle on the floor.
The bathroom is really small and the shower box is old and not really clean.
Kerem is very good natured. He met us near the subway. Hurricane Sandy did not affect our stay, which we are very happy. Apartment is small but pleasant. There is everything for a short trip.
