The Space

The Santa Cruz spacious ground floor suite with a private bathroom in a wonderfully, bright and open house on the upper west side of Santa Cruz. It is perfect for a weekend getaway or even a long-term stay. The room itself has plenty of light, windows and alows for direct access to the garden and deck. The home overall is quite spacious with a great backyard, living room, open kitchen and relaxing dining room. Please feel free to use the entire space!
The suite can have the furnishings varied according to need.

This is a quiet, safe neighborhood with a parking space in the driveway or in front of the house. There is also public transportation one block away. Santa Cruz is also a very bike friendly town and we have plenty of space for you to store bikes if you choose to bring them!

Santa Cruz has so many fun things to do and everything is very easy to get to from our location! We are walking distance from UCSC and Pogonip walking trails, a short drive down to Natural Bridges State Park, West Cliff Drive, Steamers Lane, Cowell's Beach, the Boardwalk and the Wharf. Along the way there are plenty of beautiful views, numerous small beaches and great walking trails. Downtown Santa Cruz is a 5 minute drive away and has many great local shops, bars and restaurants.

Overall, Santa Cruz is a wonderful place to explore, relax and enjoy and our home is a wonderful place to experience it all in. We are all born and raised, Santa Cruz locals, so ask us where to go and what to do! We look forward to your stay!

  • Marlene and Daryl are incredible! They greeted us very kindly and even shared a few drinks on our arrival as they recommended activities/spots in the area. They're a very friendly couple, but were never intrusive.

The place itself is fantastic. Everything felt very cozy, welcoming, and perfect for our weekend. The guest wing is separate enough from the main house that you can feel comfortable and enjoy the bar space too. The place is very well kept and nicely outfitted too :)

  • Marlene and Daryl are wonderful hosts who made our stay truly memorable. The guest room itself is huge with its own private bathroom and private entrance to the garden. The photos don't do the house justice as it is spacious and comfortable, yet intimate. I would highly recommend anyone to skip a B&B in Santa Cruz and stay here instead!

  • You'll have a hard time finding nicer hosts than Marlene and Daryl. Very friendly and welcoming into their beautiful home, and generous with their time, knowledge and delicious food! They gave me plenty of valuable advice for Santa Cruz and the surrounding areas, and even annotated a fold out map for me to take with me.

The room, bed & en-suite bathroom were nicely decorated and very comfortable. There was plenty of space for me to unpack my things and feel right at home.

I highly recommend you stay here if you are looking for a guest room in Santa Cruz.

  • Marlene and Daryl are wonderful hosts. they have welcomed us like old good friends, very warmly and with great care, in their nice and large house. It is ideally located, in a quiet´borough of Santa Cruz.. This location is a perfect base for visiting Carmel and Monterey. A special mention for the pretty sea resort of Capitola, some miles away from SC they recommended us.
The guest suite is very large, quite comfortable, quiet, with a large bathroom and a dressing room.
We have enjoyed their hospitality and exchanging experience and ideas about a lot of topics.
Last but not least.....the breakfast is great. Don't miss the homemade marmelade, preserves and cakes!!!

Live the life you Love. Don't wait because time is the only thing we really have - enjoy it! I love honesty, all the plants that grow, my Great Daughters, sleeping in till 8 o'clock, fresh baked anything! Michael McDonald, Susan Tedeschi & Daryl Truck, Joni Mitchell, Atlas Shrugged, Alaska, cruising(not sailing), Veuve Clicquot, Sun, rain and snow, skiing, biking ----- well I try to find good things in even the boring stuff like scrubing the sinks. I love to travel and discover places and things. Love staying in a house rather than a resort. Love to meet the people in the community and really get to know the area. Visit the markets I only buy things when I travel, clothes, shoes and what ever and love to collect shells, have a pretty good collection now!!
