Romantic 2 BR Suite in Hacienda

House - Private room · Road, Coarsegold, CA 93614, United States

Beautiful, 2 BR suite in north wing of upscale Spanish Hacienda. MBR has queen bed & futon & 2nd BR has queen bed. Holds 5. Also, Suite is great for GROUPS! Holds up to 10 people when booked w/adjoining "Heart of the Hacienda" bedroom.

The Space

Beautiful, spacious, and quiet master bedroom suite with private bath and private entrance. Has queen bed plus a full futon, and adjoining nook with table & 4 chairs, small refrigerator, microwave & coffee pot. Includes comfy recliner for reading and relaxing, large windows, French door to the courtyard and fountain, and a view to private atrium. Master bath has a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Smaller (second) BR also has a new queen bed and view of atrium. There is also an outdoor, covered sitting porch with two hand-painted chairs at the entrance to the suite--great place to have your morning coffee. You are very welcome to come into the main part of the house and have some coffee or tea, or use the kitchen and large refrigerator to cook your meals during the hours of 8 am - 8 pm. There is also a large dining room table (same hours as kitchen) or a cozy breakfast nook, IF you don't mind interacting with my pets (one elderly rescue pug & some picky cats) on occasion. If this is not for you, and you don't need to cook your meals, then the Suite alone will be perfect for you and is very private. I can recommend great restaurants in the area.

Centrally located, this house is in a beautiful, mostly natural country setting on 5 acres, approx 30 miles from the Yosemite gate on Hwy 41 (north), 30 miles to Fresno (on Hwy 41 to the south), 5 miles to Chukchansi Casino and Resort (great place to eat!), 15 miles to Oakhurst and 25 miles to lovely Bass Lake.

i am looking for easygoing, friendly and quiet people who are respectful and keep all volume low, especially after 10 pm and prior to 8 am, including voice levels. If you have children under the age of ten then you are welcome to book the Casita, which is not as noise-sensitive as the main house.

i am a quiet, warm and friendly host and I am happy to give you a quick orientation of Yosemite on the map, as well as where the markets, restaurants, etc., are, if you can arrive here before 10:30 pm. Later arrivals are discouraged. The main part of this home (kitchen, living room, and dining room) are considered common area and you are welcome to hang out and get to know an atypical local :-} if you are interested in great/fun conversations).

Please note this is a working household and not a hotel with staff. This is a comfortable, casual, nice 6-year-old home with an old-world charm atmosphere that makes a great base for travelers and I will be here to help make your stay enjoyable.

You may see a lot of wildlife on the property - from deer to squirrels, rabbits, and a large variety of birds -- especially hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and quail! You are also welcome to give carrots to my neighbor's horses next door, but let me know so I can accompany you over there.

Complimentary shampoo & conditioner, liquid body wash, & hair dryer are provided, as well as some free in-room snacks. This is a great place to chill out, recharge and/or unwind, have a glass of wine, listen to the fountain, windchimes and birds, and sleep well. (If you are trying to compare the two vacation rooms that are inside my main house, this one is by far the biggest and best, and well worth the difference in price!) There is also no extra charge for the wifi :-)

I also have other listings you should review before making your decision:
* Quiet and Private Casita with Large Deck
* Upstairs Private Studio

Smoking is allowed in designated outdoor areas only, thanks. Sorry, pets are not allowed due to previous bad experiences.

Traveling Tip: If you are trying to choose between Yosemite Park or Sequoia & Kings Canyon Natl Park, I think you will much prefer Yosemite, and it has the huge sequoias, too, so it's best to give yourself another day at Yosemite to see everything it has to offer, which is a lot! Yosemite is a big place with a lot to see! It is best to book for 3 nights to give yourself plenty of time to see Yosemite and also Bass Lake.

Also, please note that the closer vacation rentals are to Yosemite, the higher the price they charge. Our rates are very reasonable for the nice rooms you get, and we are not that much farther away from the Gate.

NOTE: You do not have to contact me first if you would like to stay here. Just check my calendar and if it's available, simply Book it!

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you soon! :-)

Guest Access

All guests are welcome to explore the outside property and feed carrots to my neighbor's horses if they wish to. Also, the large dining room table in the main house is available for anyone needing wireless Internet access if it's not working in their room.

Interaction with Guests

I love to meet and interact with my guests, and am always available to answer questions about this beautiful area, my American viewpoint on just about anything (ha ha), etc. I am also interested in hearing about the various places and countries my guests are from. However, I definitely respect other people's privacy so no one should feel obligated to socialize if they are not up to it.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is scenic and as green as Ireland, thanks to the recent rain. It is also fairly quiet and safe. About 2 miles away is the Coarsegold Historical Museum, which highlights the 1800's gold rush days, and another mile beyond it is a large casino with 5 restaurants and some really exceptional chocolate cake :-)

Getting around

Sorry, there is no public transportation to Yosemite. You will need to have a car here.

IMPORTANT: Please note that 1-night listing are only available for Sunday through Wednesday nights. Longer reservations are available any time dates show them as available.

Other Things to Note

This an eco-friendly house. All wooden doors are hand - made from reclaimed wood bought locally. The living room log poles were salvaged from a fire. This Spanish Colonial Ranch - style home on 5 acres is made of concrete and Styrofoam block, and is plumbed for a gray water system to water the courtyard plants. The kitchen counters are made of sustainably - grown bamboo parquet. Floors are Mexican clay pavers. For other eco features, just ask Ginger, who custom designed this home for her and her father.

  • We couldn’t have wished for somewhere more lovely to stay. Ginger and Michael’s house is beautiful - the room we had was huge, had more facilities than we expected (fridge, table, toaster, coffee making facilities) and the bed was really comfortable. In addition to all of this, Ginger was the perfect host and couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome, including giving us great advice about where to go in Yosemite. Yes it’s quite a drive into the park but the room and hospitality more than made up for the drive. We didn’t want to leave and were sad to say goodbye, including saying goodbye to Tyrone and Molly!

  • Ginger and Michael were very pleasant and helpful. Their home was absolutely beautiful and they were more than accommodating during our stay. Ginger walked us through different hikes and viewpoints in Yosemite and gave us dinner recommendations in town. I highly recommend their suite!

  • We loved staying at Ginger's! She accommodated my whole family and made my grandparents feel at home. If you are ever in the Yosemite area, this is the place to stay hands down. The house is beautiful, the bedrooms comfortable and the surroundings stunning. Ginger has such a wonderful soul that you never want to leave. She took us to feed the horses in the morning and treated us to the best cup of coffee. We miss being there and can't wait to return!

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Ginger's place. She's a great host and knows all the secrets and good spots in Yosemite. Our suite was clean and comfy, not to mention we had plenty of room. Her Spanish style house is gorgeous and spacious and she let us use the kitchen and dinning room. Her furry friends (cats and Molly) are super sweet and friendly! We hope to go back soon!

  • We had an amazing time at Ginger's! Her place was gorgeous- very secluded and right out among nature. The suite was spacious and 3 people got spaciously. The rooms were really clean. Ginger was friendly and helpful. She gave us some very useful tips for Yosemite and Bass Lake (loved that spot too!) and was also helpful in letting us use the washing machine and kitchen faculties. We'd love to come again!

About
i am a native Californian and retired grandmother formerly from Santa Barbara, San Diego, and the Bay Area, I have been living in the beautiful Sierra foothills for over 12 years now. Having been self-employed most of my life in various businesses, including publishing, graphic arts, and real estate, my true love is music and I have had my own rock 'n roll bands (many years ago, sigh). I now enjoy hosting all the wonderful and interesting travelers/adventurers who book their stays with me. It is my dream to go to Europe for 2-3 weeks later in 2014, and stay in Airbnb places and revisit some of the really cool guests who have stayed with me :-} My home is convenient to Hwy. 41, and just 5 miles from a large casino that has great all-you-can-eat buffets and some specialty restaurants, yet it is peaceful and quiet here. This location is approx. 30 miles from the Yosemite Nat'l. Park gate, 30 miles to Fresno, and 25 miles to Bass Lake. I am friendly, young at heart, quiet, love animals, most non overly opinionated people, and enjoy growing plants and trees. I really enjoy meeting, chatting, and hosting new people of all ages and countries. In my spare time I love to read - mostly magazines like the Smithsonian, Discover, Wired, and various art magazines. Once read, these magazines are put in the rooms for visitors. And last, I love watching the amazing advances of technology, robotics, artificial or accelerated intelligence, and even at my age, I still love rock 'n roll, Santana, Elton, Whitney Houston, Bonny Raitt, Rolling Stones, Journey, Foreigner, etc, altho I don't play it loudly, don't worry :-) I sincerely look forward to meeting you!
