Grazie Davide .
My stay at Davide's over Christmas and New Years was wonderful. His place was warm, quiet and cozy. He shared his house with me like a real friend, and would hope to visit him and his place again in the future. I would also recommend his accommodation to others wanting to visit Rome, who want to see the sights during the day, but to stay away from the city center in the evening, where is can be busy and loud with all the traffic :-).
The room is a little bit far away from Rom City, what Davide has told me before. It is no problem for me to stay outside of Rom City. There are Bus and Metro. It is very easy to get into the city center. The room is very nice and quiet for me. I could be use the bathroom alone. The bathroom is big. I have not used the kitchen yet except having breakfirst in the kitchen. Davide is a very friendly and nice host. Davide was very busy, so that I was almost alone with his dogs in his house. It was so pity that he has not time, so that we can not talk with each other so much. But he has taken time for me on the day of checking out and driven me to the Metro station. How nice the host! I am very thankful. Everything was perfect for me. It was better to stay by Davide than in hotels. I am very happy for my choice.^_^
Davide is a great host, very well-prepared and considerate. He gave me a ride when I had my luggage for arrival and checkout. He and his girlfriend took me for a pizza dinner and a nice walk in the historic city of Tivoli nearby. His home is modern, clean and comfortable. He includes a breakfast of cereal, toast, coffee and juice. There is a big grocery store nearby, plus a coffee shop and pizza parlors. His place is outside the city, but his low price saved me a lot of money for my long stay (18 nights). During the day, the local bus stop is very close for connecting to the city bus and metro. If you are returning at night, you only have to walk about 1.5 km from the last city bus stop. Davide also offers a bicycle you can use. One of my best Airbnb visits!
I arrived in Rome and booked a 6 night stay with Davide. His accomodations are clean, and very high end in his large private home located in an upscale neighborhood. He rents several rooms in the main part of his home, and downstairs has a self-contained fully equipped seperate studio apartment with private entrance with a complete kitchen (with full size refrigerator, stove, and WASHING MACHINE), private bathroom with shower, dining area, and television. His location is superb with a large Carrefour Supermarket within easy walking distance, along with several Pizzarieas and restaurants, and a pharmacy. The 1 or 1A bus from his doorstep can get you to Center City easlily and quickly either by connecting to the Metro, or my favorite option, to the train station Guidonia, with frequent and fast trains to Rome and it's local beach at C. Colombo, or in opposite direction, to Tivoli and it's attractions such as the Villa de Este, with easy day trips beyond Tivoli by train to the Abruzzo region and it's mountains or the adraitic coast beach and towns of Pescara, and Termoli via senic mountains (I'm a rail enthusiastist). For anyone with a car rental, you can't beat staying at Davide's, as there is ample and free parking - I suggest leaving the car at Davide's and using public transportation option for forays inside Rome itself, and to explore Italy it is an incredible base for day trips as far as Florence, Naples and the Abruzzo region with it's National Parks with easy access close by to the major "autostrada" (freeway and toll roads from the ring autostrada).
Davide goes out of his way to make you comfortable, and give you an overview of "the lay of the land". He speaks very good english, which is a great help for language illiterates such as myself.
I so enjoyed my stay with Davide, I decided to extend my stay another two weeks. You will not be dissapointed staying with Davide, and for what you get at his rates is an absolute bargain.
