This is a clean and comfortable room located in one of the hippest and most iconic neighborhoods in all of NYC! It is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and bars and located only two blocks from the subway making the whole city easily accessible.
I am a photographer/entrepreneur living in a spacious fourth-floor 2-bedroom apartment in East Village - one room which I rent out on a regular basis to responsible, mature adults who'd like a clean, comfortable place to stay in a hip downtown NYC neighborhood but don't want to spend $300 a night for a hotel. I live in the second bedroom.
About the Room:
This is a private room with a very comfortable queen bed for guests. The room includes large 8 drawer dresser and closet space, fresh linens and towels, soap & shampoo, hairdryer, breakfast snacks, coffee & tea, kettle, wifi, air conditioning unit, heat.
Guests have access to all common areas of the apartment to use at their leisure including kitchen, living area w/large flatscreen tv, and bathroom.
I am happy to accompany guests up to the rooftop to take photos of the beautiful NYC skyline - amazing views of Freedom Tower and Empire State building.
Interaction with Guests
All of my guests are welcomed into my home as friends. However; some guests prefer to keep to themselves. I am happy to interact with guests as much or as little as they please - it is entirely up to you. My preference however; is to be friendly and hear about all the fun you are having during your stay!!
I've hosted guests from all over the world and I enjoy helping them to explore this great city and make the most of their stay while here.
If you've ever wanted to experience the New York City this is a perfect way to do it! Spend your stay in one of the coolest and most unique neighborhoods in NYC - the East Village! The original home of the Hipster, the East Village is filled with artists and musicians, and is one of the most colorful and culturally diverse neighborhoods in the city. The apartment is on a great block with lots of new restaurants and bars popping up all around and is surrounded by coffee shops and outdoor cafe's (weather permitting). The subway is only 2 short blocks away making it very easy and convenient to explore the rest of the city.
The East Village is one of the best neighborhoods in NYC for Ethnic Food...craving Ethiopian, Venezuelan, Indian, Korean, Pakistani, Japanese BBQ, Pizza...or just about any other type of food?? It's all within a couple blocks of the apartment.
Other close by things: 2 blocks from Thompkins Square Park, 3 blocks from East River which is great for walking/jogging down to the Williamsburg or Brooklyn Bridges. Close to other great Neighborhoods: Soho, Noho, Lower East Side, West Village, Union Square, and Williamsburg only one stop away on the L train!
2 blocks from the L Train, 1 block from the Bust Stop, next to a CitiBike Station, and close to Union Square (all subway lines R/Q/N/4/5/6/L), Lower East Side, Soho, and only 1 stop from Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Other Things to Note
This apartment is located on the forth floor of a walk up.
I have 3 cats - Maggy, Lucy, & Zoe. I've had them for 15yrs; they're well behaved, super fun and lovable - and they'll expect you to treat them the same. All of my guests have loved hanging out with them and they make for great pictures!!

Evan's place was just as described and pictured. It was clean and quiet and in a convenient, happening area. After a couple of days I began to feel like I lived in the neighborhood. Evan was knowledgeable and helpful and kind. I will be be booking his place again when I return in the spring.
Kiitos Evan että saimme majoittua luonasi. Pidimme kovasti asuntosi sijainnista ja antamistasi suosituksista ravintoloiden suhteen.
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at Evans apartment in East village. This was our first time in NY, and we couldn't have asked for a better apartment and location. Even though we never met Evan, his cousin Vicki was such a sweet host, and we really felt welcome. The apartment is so nice, and we were being offered clean towels, bed linens and we had lots of space to put our clothes in a desk in our room. Simply just perfect.
East village is also a really cool place to live, lots of young people and so much life with small cozy restaurants, bars and shops.
We will recommend Evans place to everyone we know, so you better book this place quickly, because from now on Evans place will be booked.
Perfectly located, neat apartment with an excellent host. Evan is an easy going guy with a good knowledge of his city. We had an amazing time, would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you are looking for the vibrance of the East Village. So close to the L-train, one stop from Williamsburg and within walking distance of shopping heaven Soho.
If you have a cat allergy, it's not the place for you as Evan's very friendly cats are definitely the queens of the apartment!
Very nice flat well located, really clean and confortable. Evan is a cool host!
We stayed at Evan's apartment in East Village for one week and it was absolutely great. The apartment was bright, clean and perfectly located for discovering NY. Evan was a super cool host and the three cats were more than lovely. He knows his hood very well and gave us heaps of cool tips. So if you go to NY, stay at Evan's!
I am a photographer/entrepreneur in love with thrill seeking activities, travel, and spending time with family and friends. I've lived in the East Village for the last 1.5 years and I absolutely love it - it is truly one of the best blocks in the East Village and close to all subways. I love eating out and brunch on the weekends - my two favorite brunch spots in the area are Back Forty and Northern Spy Co.
