Vintage, Cozy & Fun!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · W Potomac Ave, Chicago, IL 60622, United States

The Space

My 3 bedroom 1 bath apt is located in Humboldt Park on the border of Ukrainian Village & Wicker Park. I love my bright airy peaceful space! I'm on the 2nd floor of a two flat building.

Amenities include: hardwood floors, high ceilings, a bright spacious dining room, living room, Smart TV, wireless internet, central heat and AC, kitchen, and a private deck with comfy lounge chairs.

I have three bedrooms, the master has a full bed, another bedroom has a twin size bed & the living room has a very comfortable thick futon (it's a high quality full size bed). You'll have clean new white sheets on all beds, and clean new white towels.

Street parking is safe and easy on our street, it's always available, and I have parking permits you can use during your stay. The CTA bus is a block away - it will take you downtown (35 minutes away), or anywhere around the city. I'm not within (easy) walking distance of the subway. Or, you can walk around to the many neighborhood restaurants, bars, and shops within blocks of my home.

As an added bonus the park offers many facilities such as tennis courts, indoor basketball courts, meeting/event space & a fitness center.

I prefer to host up to 2 people, and the max is 5.
Please book a week in advance.

  • Robert’s apartment is absolutely stunning, and in a great location for a first time explorer of Chicago. Robert could not have been more kind and accommodating — and although I only had the chance to stay for a few days, I’ll definitely be back!

  • Robert was a great host! I had a ton of family come into town all at once, and very last minute. Robert was able to accommodate all five of them immediately, in a comfortable and clean atmosphere. My family was very happy with the location and the set up of the place. Street parking was not a problem and it was easy to get places from there.

  • Was a great place. Robert was very accommodating before our arrival and when we were there. Cozy, large and close enough to Wicker Park area that we would walk.

  • In Chicago to meet clients & update reps on our product line. Robert was a swift and clear communicator and we found his flat better than advertized! The space is HUGE! (And CLEAN and characterful with wonderful built ins.) We are global airbnbers so we know our way around this industry and have stayed in the South Loop twice and in Andersonville once previously. We always pick locations based on our appointments.
Robert provides our top three needs:space, price & service - triple threat!
Another BIG plus for us - given that we visited during the Sochi Winter Olympics - was the gigantic Samsung TV with Direct TV. One control clicker - user friendly .We generally do not watch TV, but the Olympics are an exception. We arrived from ORD (Robert met us at the door and carried up one of our suitcases - a great start.), received the house keys and LOTS of street parking permits then... BAM - half-pipe heaven in crisp clear HD! (Often we don't turn on airbnb host's TVs because they leave three remotes and a page of instructions - can't be bothered with that...

We did not use public transport and grocery shopped 40 minutes north (near our reps' factory), so we can't help you there - but locally we highly recommend !BANG! BANG Pies & Biscuits for breakfast.

The bed was comfy and the flat's heat was set at 70 degrees all day! (Did I mention it was winter in Chicago?) Towels were plentiful and soft. Copper tray by the front door for winter boots. Kitchen was functional - in the rear of the space.

A short drive into Chicago and compared to NYC - a breeze to park downtown.

WiFi was brilliant. We travel with hotspots, but used Robert's WiFi working from "home" most of the day Friday and Saturday.

See you next time Robert & thanks!

  • The apartment, right east of Humboldt Park, is in great shape. I stayed there for five days in November and liked it very much. The place is spacious and clean and included all the amenities I needed (fully equipped kitchen, clean towels and sheets, etc.) Also, Robert has been a very gracious host, extremely attentive and efficient in his communication with me. Thanks Robert for a wonderful stay in Chicago!

  • We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay during our week in Chicago. Robert's home was bright, spacious and beautiful - and even bigger than the photos let on. His mother courteously showed us around when we checked in and then we were left with plenty of privacy but were checked in on consistently to make sure we were doing alright. The location was super convenient for us and parking on the street was plentiful. Robert's home will be without question our first choice on our next visit to Chicago.

  • Great apartment in a nice neighborhood. Very spacious and close to Humbolt park. Robert was very helpful and easy to get in contact with.

  • Robert is extremely personable and he takes very good care of this unit. It is very tastefully (and minimally) decorated and all the amenities worked fine. Highly recommended.

  • I booked with Robert for my Dad, aunt and cousins to stay in his place during my wedding. he was SO responsive during the booking process. When I had to add my cousins late in the game, again, he was super responsive and easy to work with.

While I did not stay there myself personally- my aunt shared the following feedback.
"Thought the pics online were exactly what Robert's place looked like. Good location and no problem parking. Robert provided free parking permit for on street parking. Clean and lots of space to spread out. Second floor of vintage duplex feels like chicago."

They were able to easily get in touch with Robert throughout their stay because he lives downstairs. The neighborhood was easy for them to navigate around in, they could walk to breakfast at Grandma J's and get to public transit easily. GREAT!
