Step into the National Forest’s canopy with our luxury glamping tent. This tent is furnished with an ultra-comfy queen-sized bed, gas fireplace, and a sitting area!

Walking out onto the front porch, you’ll catch a view into our valley that you’ll never want to give up. Stay, we don’t mind! Make yourself a cup of coffee, lean back in an Adirondack chair, and relax as long as you’d like.

If you want to move your legs, there’s access to 50 acres of hiking/exploring just outside!

The space
** Our tents are temporarily off-grid, which means no plumbing or electricity, however, there is heating, lights, water, and a charcoal grill for you to use (bring your own charcoal). You will have 24/7 access to porta-potties! When you come back in the fall, we're so excited to offer a fully on-grid bathhouse with septic, electricity, and instant hot water **

Roughing it isn’t for everyone! We are so excited to offer an ultra-luxurious GLAMping experience that’ll get you into the outdoors while still feeling cozy and secure.

When you enter the tent, you’ll be blown away by how spacious and open it is on the inside. It has a plush queen-sized bed, a fireplace, and a sitting area that we know you’ll love! It also has a covered front porch that faces the sunset, which will make every evening golden.

The walls are thick enough to ensure that you stay nice and cozy, but allow light to diffuse throughout the whole tent, creating a gentle atmosphere that’s sure to lull you to sleep in the evening and wake you up slowly in the morning.

They’re made from incredibly heavy-duty canvas and have been rigorously field-tested by hikers, outdoors people, and hunters in every climate. We did a lot of research to make sure we landed on tents we felt good about putting you in!

** NOTE: If you need to sleep more than a queen-sized bed can hold, let us know! The tents can sleep up to 4 people with cots added **

Where you’ll be

Beattyville, Kentucky, United States

On most of the 50 acres, you won't see anything man-made. This creates a fully immersive experience for you. Also, you’ll be on privately owned property with designated hiking trails (map included); please hike, explore, and allow yourself to be free!

* There are other guests that you’ll be sharing the 50 acres with, so don’t free yourself completely, if you know what we mean *

The property also has tons of natural features. The tents sit atop a giant horseshoe of cliff-edges; as you explore, you’ll find sweeping, scenic views of our valley, a waterfall, natural rock overhangs, creeks, and acres more of wildlife!
If you need to get off-property and want to do some fun, local activities, we’re within minutes of local attractions like world-class climbing and hiking, ziplining, underground kayaking (yeah, you heard us), horseback riding, and so many more things! Not to mention all of the wonderful local restaurants you can visit -- don’t worry, we’ve sampled them all and have listed our top 5 in the guestbook and on our website.

If you aren't familiar with Red River Gorge and the surrounding areas, don’t worry -- we'll send you a list of our favorite off-site activities. We want your time away to be extraordinary!

Hello, friend!

I'm Izaac, a lover of many things: art, nature, hospitality, good food and drink, all the good things that life offers up. You can usually find me working/exploring outside in beautiful KY *or* cuddled up on a couch with my lovely wife, kitties, and pup.

I want nothing but to help create rejuvenating, uplifting, transformational experiences for the people I host. Check out the listings I offer through my family-owned business, Dappled Light Adventures, on Airbnb (and on social media), we'd like nothing more than to show you the Rains Family brand of hospitality!

For the folks I visit, I will treat your listing like it's one of my own!

Happy travels, everyone! Much love <3
