About This Listing
We have a modern, efficient home. We short-term rent out our extra rooms to adventurers, scholars, couples, family members of locals, etc. Centrally located, beautiful, private room - perfect for people wanting to experience Telluride like a local!
First, a few important points:
- We do not lock our front door. Your bedroom door will not be lockable from the outside either. If this is not okay with you, please do not book! We live in a very safe place, and have never locked our doors.
- We do not rent out seasonally, as grandma and other family members/friends often come to stay and we like to keep the rooms open for their visits.
- We are not a hotel. We are a household with a family and we would love for you to share it with us. However, while we aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we may not be able to accommodate all requests nor should you expect all the amenities or service that a hotel offers. We are busy folks, so besides check in, you may not ever see us, but we're always willing to answer any questions and help you out with what you need.
Great neighborhood in Downtown Telluride - 2 minute walk away from Main Street. Two blocks away from the free Gondola and chair 8, 5 minute walk to chair 7. One block away from Aha School for the Arts and the San Miguel river.
New modern home, in floor heat, wifi, Ipod dock in your room, full bathroom with shower, and a dresser for your belongings.
Has a full bed with a built-in bunk above. In-room bathroom has a jacuzzi bath/shower. This bedroom is a touch bigger than the other one we offer and fits two people comfortably, three if two people sleep in the lower bunk and one above.
We're renting out our downstairs to allow people to come visit Telluride for an affordable price, with a unique experience. Over the past three years, we've had many people stay in our home and enjoyed their company.
We've taken the money we made on AirBnB and reinvested it back into our house - we're excited to say we purchased 13 off-site solar panels to fully power our home!
We own the local coffee shop called The Steaming Bean and we'd love for our guests to enjoy it! It's a 2 minute walk from the house on the west side of Main Street. The Bean is the locals coffee shop - we serve homemade Belgian Waffles, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, local granola bowls, smoothies, etc. All of our coffee is roasted just a few miles out of town, so it is fresh and delicious! Meghann also blends all the teas at the shop and would love to discuss tea with anyone who cares to!
Telluride is a great place to do all your favorite outdoor activities: ski/snowboard, nordic, hike, bike, via ferrata, eat great food, experience remote mountain living . . . but it is also a unique place with lots of character... and characters. We're of the belief that it is much more fun to explore a place living like a local. We're pretty busy people - raising a baby, running a coffee shop and a tech consulting business, but when we have time, we love to cook & host guests! So if you happen to land in our pad when we're not super busy, we might just cook you a full dinner and/or show you around town. Either way, we'll give you great options for things to do, places to go and eat, etc.

Their room and bathroom, laundry space if needed and our kitchen - please understand that our upstairs can be a baby madhouse and that kitchen and living room are shared spaces, so you are diving in to our world if you come upstairs!
Interaction with Guests
We love getting to know guests, but we are pretty busy with businesses and babies. Interaction is pretty limited, but we are always willing to help make guests' stay as comfortable as possible and answer any questions you may need.
We live on Pacific Street, which is one block south of Main Street. We are a 3 minute walk away from our café and downtown and 2 minute walk away from the Gondola. We LOVE our location and you will, too!
There is a bus that stops on Pac street across from our house, but it's probably faster to walk anywhere than wait for the Galloping Goose!
Other Things to Note
We do not lock our main door. No smoking on property, please. We leave a brown paper bag for recycling and trash can for trash in your bathroom. Please DO NOT HESITATE to ask questions via text or call - just because we are not home does not mean we don't want to help you out!
The downstairs is yours - there are two separate bedrooms with their own bathrooms in room, but laundry is shared with household.
We ask that you do not smoke anywhere on the property - we live next door to a lovely family and would appreciate consideration of this when you are staying with us.
This is a great, cheaper private place to stay in Telluride, not a hotel room you can party in. We've got great recommendations if you'd like a place to let loose.
We'll clearly spell out when you arrive what space is yours so that there is no confusion. We may invite you upstairs when we are home, but we're looking for guests who are autonomous and respectful of our livelihoods that allow us to have this beautiful place to rent out!
Road tripping with a six month old and a dog is hard enough. Finding a nice place to stay is even harder. We felt so lucky to be able to stay like locals at a gorgeous place right in Telluride. Brian and Meghann's place was absolutely our favorite airbnb spot we've stayed! You are right in town and can walk directly to all the fun spots and there's even an awesome hike and river walk right minutes away. They were also the best hosts. Despite being 40 weeks pregnant, Meghann kept in close touch on our arrival and advised us on the best hikes and restaurants. I can't even remember what I did at 40 weeks, but it definitely had more to do with beaching myself on a couch and calling for more food. Brian could not have been more friendly and also helped us figure out the best way to head south to Durango. The room itself is super cozy and the bathroom has roomy jacuzzi tub which helped us soak away our sea-level living, slow hiker aches and pains. Oh, and laundry! No more spit-up onesies after a week on the road. In short, I'd move in here if I could and we're definitely planning on visiting again!
A very warm home in the heart of Telluride. This adorable family was very welcoming and had some great insight into local hikes and restaurants. I would absolutely reccomend them for anyone looking to stay like a local.
Had a fabulous time at Brain & Meghan's place in Telluride! The bed was super comfortable, the shower was hot and great water pressure, we used the convenient washer and dryer, and loved the location---close to absolutely everything! We parked and never used the car again until we left. Sorry we never even got to meet Brian, but Meghan was lovely and little Levi was adorable!! Thanks so much for such a chill place to rest at the end of our very full days---we loved it!!!! And thanks for the breakfast discount at your amazing place, The Steaming Bean! Great coffee and great Bacon Breakfast Burritos! We'll be back!!!! Miss Telluride already!!!
We enjoyed our stay with Brian and Meghann. They were very friendly and accommodating and the location of their home could hardly be better for shopping, eating and gondola access. Street parking was easy with their residential parking permit.
Meghann made a couple of restaurant suggestions which turned out to be great (on-line reviews bore these out). We also spent a rainy morning in their café, the Steaming Bean, which has excellent coffee drinks and munchables.
The house interior is interestingly designed. Think mountain rustic meets stainless steel and high end fixtures. There must be a story about the architect/interior designer although we forgot to ask.
Our room had an unusual built-in bunk bed arrangement where the bottom bed was oriented perpendicular to the upper bed and had been converted from a twin size to a double bed. You had to be a little cautious with your head! On the other hand, this room has a lovely private full bath. Very quiet at night.
Bottom line, we would not hesitate to stay with Brian and Meghann again.
Thank you Sandra! We loved hosting you as well - the house does have an interesting story behind it. It was built and designed in 2007 for a local real estate agent for his family. Everything the place is built for modern, high-end efficiency, and he did a fabulous job with it. For a 1,600 sq foot 4 bedroom home, its use of space is highly efficient! We were lucky enough to move in just a few years ago - it suits our tiny families need quite well and we are fortunate enough to rent out our extra rooms to weary (and not so weary!) travelers like yourselves.
Thanks for staying with us - see you next time!
We stayed here for the Imogene Pass race in early September. The description and notes about the room, the house, features, and amenities is accurate. Everything about the place within the scope of what is described is great. The hosts are great and provided excellent and timely information about things to do and dining options. Would definitely stay here again.
It was my first time using Airbnb - so wasn't sure what to expect. Due to schedules, unfortunately didn't really get to meet our hosts. But Brian& Meghan kindly arranged for their friend to meet us to introduce the place while they were away. Only thing once they were back, we weren't too sure if we could use the kitchen so we mainly stayed in our room. One thing - It would have been nice if we had a place to hang our clothes. We barely ever heard the baby who seemed to sleep through the night without a sound. Lovely neighborhood.
Our flight was delayed and we were tired when we finally arrived. Brian and family made us feel very welcome. Meghan offered us homemade lentil soup which was delicious, warming and filling. She also lent my friend her coat when the weather turned colder. The location was central and we could walk to everything we needed. The Steaming Bean - where we were sent for breakfast - was cosy, relaxed and hippy. The pictures of the space in AIRBNB are fairly accurate. All in all, we had a good stay. Recommended.

About the Host, Brian & Meghann
We like great food, outdoor activities, taking on new challenges and having fun. We work hard and in turn get to play hard, too. We love to meet new people and cook for friends; hosting is a fun way to do both! We have a 2 year old and a baby on the way, so life has become a bit more hectic, but we love to stay busy, so our growing little family certainly keeps us engaged!
We love Siam - Thai food that would stand up in any city! For a new taste, try the Kao Soi!South Davis Street Telluride CO 81435
