Check In
  • Our experience staying with Stephanie and Tom was better than expected as this was our first time booking through Airbnb. The accommodations were great and the room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and the house was conveniently located near public transportation. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and was very fresh and of restaurant quality. We enjoyed meeting the cats Bobbitt and Boycott and the dog Austen. Stephanie and Tom were both helpful in giving recommendations for things to do in the area and were both very nice and welcoming people. Highly recommend staying here!

  • Had a great stay with Stephanie and Tom. Excellent breakfasts every morning and one of my best stays in Pittsburgh yet. Accommodations are top notch.

  • It was my first time in Pittsburgh. Stephanie and Tom were charming, easy-going and helpful. The house is artful and welcoming--set up to give guests complete independence. I love animals so interaction with two cats (Bobbin especially friendly) and Austen, the dog (he gets vocal but calms down quickly) was a delight. Thoroughly enjoyed Stephanie's gourmet breakfast each morning. The Garden Room was comfortable, clean and provided amenities as well as a great selection of books :) No one else was staying at the time, so I enjoyed a private suite. On my last day, Stephanie graciously gave me a lift to nearby bus stop to catch the Airport Xpress. I would stay with Tom and Stephanie again.

  • Stephanie is an excellent Airbnb'er. Communication was timely & clear. Questions during reservation process were addressed quickly. Reservation process went smoothly. The Garden Room was as described. Cozy & comfortable w/ very clean facilities. Family neighborhood, well located for jaunts into surrounding sights & attractions. Nice the neighborhood was quiet during the evenings. Stephanie's breakfasts were awesome and she's able to accommodate dietary issues. Fun to be greeted by the house cat & dog each morning. They must be happy to see guests as they’re not allowed up in the guest area. As others have noted, dog is vocal but friendly. Third floor location could be tricky for those with difficulties handling stairs. The two bedrooms are in close quarters, consider the Garden Suite option for privacy.

  • Stephanie and Tom were very hospitable and also very respectful of my privacy. What a great combination! The room was very clean, pretty, and comfortable with great attention to detail such as ideas for expeditions, bottles of water, and an umbrella. The breakfasts were varied and delicious. This was my first experience of airbnb and has probably spoiled me for others!

  • I loved staying with Stephanie. Lovely comfortable house, great (!) breakfast, and I loved the dog. (Note: I'm a dog lover, but the dog is very nice. Also the dog is not allowed in the guest rooms.) I will stay there next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

  • Nice home (email hidden) feel, Hosts were accommodating. Breakfasts were disappointing considering the previous reviews but everyone has a bad week every once in a while.

Tom and I are empty nesters with a Victorian "doll house" with two guest rooms and a full bath that go unused when the kids aren't visiting. I work remotely as a production manager for the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center and do some political and community volunteer work. I love my neighborhood and organize local events and our neighborhood polling place as well. I really love to cook and have experience as a caterer and event planner, so I love having extra people to feed. We're close to public transportation and there is plenty of free parking on the street where we live. We have welcomed guests from 12 countries and 20 states so far and look forward to opening our doors to many more!
