Our stay at the Garden Room was just right for us. It was our first Airbnb experience, but our hosts made it really easy. The 3rd floor was private and we felt very comfortable and safe. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and they had so many nice things for their guests – interesting art, comfortable chairs, a guidebook for the house and the area, great towels and pillows, and lots of books.
The neighborhood was quiet and close to the places we had planned to go in Pittsburgh. It was just one block off a fairly main street, so it was easy to find. We were able to park on the street right in front of the house. Everything was pretty and felt very home-like. Stephanie and Tom were great hosts and we enjoyed talking with them, even though we only had a few minutes each morning. The gourmet breakfasts were a real treat - homemade and fresh. We definitely recommend staying in the Garden Room and wish Tom and Stephanie the best.
Our stay at Stephanie's was great, as usual. We love the room, the location, the breakfast, and our interactions with Stephanie, Tom and Austin. Staying in the Garden Room is always a pleasure.
Our experience with Stephanie was very positive and we had a wonderful stay at her home. Communication was excellent, the room was lovely, and the food was delicious! The location fit our needs perfectly, very convenient to many things, and we felt completely safe. We appreciated all the attention to detail..the little information book, water bottles, towel warmer, mints...to name a few! Thank you!
This was our first time in Pittsburgh and we really enjoyed it! Staying at Stephanie's "Doll House" certainly made a great difference for the best. Her house is in a very quiet and welcoming neighborhood, and it is close to a Walgreen's, gas station, and a couple of fast-food restaurants. I would definitely love to return to Pittsburgh soon!
I can highly recommend this place. Stephanie was very helpful. I would certainly stay there again.
Our first experience using Airbnb and we couldn't be happier! Stephanie and Tom were both warm and gracious hosts who make you feel immediately at home in their space. She accepted our request to stay only minutes after I inquired, and after a brief introduction we were pre-approved to stay.
You'll enjoy a spacious third floor, comfortable bed, and gorgeous clean bathroom. Soap, shampoo and other little knickknacks are provided by them - little bottles of water, hand sanitizer and a big booklet of ideas on where you should explore Pittsburgh! They've thought of everything.
Did I forget to mention the breakfast? It was fantastic! Best French toast I've ever had! The coffee was extraordinary! And they had the Sunday New York Times for us as well. You'll enjoy wonderful music with your meal, and Stephanie will make sure to check with as to when you'll want to eat in the morning.
You will need to like dogs and cats, as we do, in order to fully enjoy your stay. Both cats are very cuddly, and the dog is...chatty. :) But give him a nice rub and a cookie or two (I started carrying them in my pocket when we'd come and go) and he'll warm up right away.
The house is easy to get to, free parking on the street, and you'll be able to drive anywhere fairly quickly from their home. There are a few restaurants and bars within walking distance.
I actually wish we had a chance to interact with them more, as they were both just warm and lovely people. However, they are total professionals at this, and they will respect your privacy if that's what you're looking for. This is the place to stay when in Pittsburgh.
Our experience staying with Stephanie and Tom was better than expected as this was our first time booking through Airbnb. The accommodations were great and the room and bathroom were both very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and the house was conveniently located near public transportation. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and was very fresh and of restaurant quality. We enjoyed meeting the cats Bobbitt and Boycott and the dog Austen. Stephanie and Tom were both helpful in giving recommendations for things to do in the area and were both very nice and welcoming people. Highly recommend staying here!

Tom and I are empty nesters with a Victorian "doll house" with two guest rooms and a full bath that go unused when the kids aren't visiting.
I work remotely as a production manager for the University of Michigan's Survey Research Center and do some political and community volunteer work. I love my neighborhood and organize local events and our neighborhood polling place as well.
I really love to cook and have experience as a caterer and event planner, so I love having extra people to feed.
We're close to public transportation and there is plenty of free parking on the street where we live. We have welcomed guests from 12 countries and 20 states so far and look forward to opening our doors to many more!
