This is a 2 bdrm apt in a prime location of Venice, CA. My cat Licorice and I live here and am in one of the bedrooms. The other bedroom is for guests. Venice beach is a very hip and popular place to be in Los Angeles. Artists, musicians, yogis, architects, travelers, bohemians, business professionals, sports enthusiasts, techies, and filmmakers thrive here. A simple walk outside and you will find restaurants, juice bars, the beach, shops, etc. Exploring is quite easy to do around here with a very open and welcoming culture. I am busy with my professional and personal life, but can guide you in the right direction and enjoy pleasant and peaceful guests in the home. The room is clean and has a queen size bed, desk, lamp, small walk-in closet, and Wireless connection. The living room is free for casual relaxation, music listening, reading a book or working on a laptop, or whatever comforts you like to do at home. The bathroom is freshly painted and new and sharing has not been a problem to this point. Sometimes an occasional friend will visit, other than that, I keep some privacy at home, as Venice is extremely public and in two seconds one can be surrounded by people. The place is located 7 blocks from the beach, there is secured access to the building, it is comfortable and I am well-traveled, so I get the need for comfort away from home. I tend to be working on the computer, on the phone, in the kitchen, watching news or listening to music in the living room, or being relaxed in bed watching a movie at night. I also do enjoy the yoga culture as well. So the house is a space of comfort where you can come and go as you please.
There is one little kitty named Licorice. She is very friendly and is two years old at this time. She has been to the vet to get her treatments, eats well and loves people, animals and children. I keep the place clean and she is a shorthair. We have not had any problems with her and guests. She is indoor-outdoor. In the summer months she spends much of her time outside. The kitchen area has a space for her food, and we keep it clean.
There is plenty of street parking but you need to read the signs for ticket days. Sometimes we can hear the neighbors: cooking, building things, running kids, etc. In other words, this is Urban on the beach ...but most guests have been pleasantly surprised with how quiet it is at night. On the rare holiday occasion or celebratory night a neighbor will have a party, so bring earplugs just in case. The sun comes in in the morning, so I put dark bamboo blinds up, but you still might want eye shades in case you want to sleep in with complete black. The kitchen is open for you to use and Whole Foods is a walk away. There are also lots of restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood. Laundry is across the street and takes 14-18 quarters for a medium to large load and four to five quarters for the dryer. Metro and Blue Bus lines stop on main street (6 blocks from here) and on Lincoln (one block from here) and the number for yellow cab:(phone number hidden). Coming from the airport, I find the fare is usually arnd $30-$40 and takes about 20 minutes and the shuttle is $10 with a few stops along the way taking about an hour. LA is a big city, so getting around can be challenging without a car, but people do do it. This neighborhood is easy to get around by bike and there are lots of bike rental shops nearby. You are also welcome to use my bike if you are sure to lock it up when you are using it and if I am not using it. Roller blades, skateboards and walking have also been popular choices for getting around if one does not have a rental bike or car.
Safety is a priority in our building, but keep your bike locked if you rent or own one. Keep the gates locked behind you and my recommendation is that you don't walk around at night by yourself unless on the well-lit streets around here. While many people enjoy this city as a neighborhood and home, this still is the city.
Thank you! You are most welcome!

I stayed 2 nights at Sofia's beautiful home. It was exactly what i wanted, great size room, very clean, well organized, living space was great, nice garden with chairs, a table, and lots of direct sunlight!. Sofia is a very lovely person, she made me feel very at home and I would of loved to of moved in permanently!! Thanks for everything, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you, and I'm looking forward to seeing you next time!
My stay with Sofia was excellent! It was everything I was looking for when I arrived in LA. Sofia is very chill and easy going and her place is in the perfect location. It's a quick walk to beach, in a cool community and a great jumping off point for checking out the rest of LA. Thanks Sofia
Thank you so much for letting me stay over again Sofia! I had a wonderful stay! It was so great catching up again! I hope I will have the chance to come to visit again soon!!
Sofia and her place were fantastic! I felt very safe with a security gate and my own key. Her apartment is in the perfect location and I had no problem parking on the street. We had great conversations, but I did my own thing while in Venice. I highly recommend staying with Sofia and her adorable cat, Licorice!
I lived in Sofia's place for about 3 weeks and have only good things to say about the experience. Sofia is a very sweet person and her home is in the perfect location. I was able to go about my own busy life (commuting to Burbank every day) and always felt reassured coming home to a cozy bed and friendly atmosphere. Sofia was so easy and understanding the entire time. Stay here! You won't be disappointed. (And it's near all my fave spots - Moon Juice, Whole Foods, Cafe Gratitude, Groundworks Coffee...)
Sofia Sofia Sofia.......
what a lovely guest, honest, humble, tolerant, funny and smart.
She showed me around made me welcome and had such a positive outlook on thing definitely a 12 / 10 rating.
One of the best people i have met traveling. Stay in touch Sofia..... God bless till we lock in that work my girl.
Sofia was and incredibly nice and friendly host. Location is very accessible to the very cool Venice Beach area. I was made to feel very welcomed and at home. We shared a glass of wine one night and i enjoyed hearing her story and generally had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended.
Sofia's apartment is right in the heart of Venice, super handy for discovering the local area. I loved having Whole Foods less than two blocks away - never had to worry too much about food! There are also some great restaurants/cafes right on her street. It's just ten minutes' walk to the beach which was perfect for what I wanted.
I loved that there was a desk in my room - having a space to write is important to me. It was hot when I was there but there is a really efficient fan in the room so I didn't have trouble sleeping - it kept me nice and cool.
Sofia is friendly and fun, and has a wide variety of interests - we got talking one morning and it was really nice to share our lives a little.
Sofia's place is in a great location near Venice Beach and the airport. I used it as a hub for three days of work in various locations around LA. The house rules were flexible and allowed easy in-and-out to fit my chaotic schedule. Bonus coffee shop across the street was my kick-starter each day. Wifi worked great too.
The house was very clean and quiet, Sofia was very friendly and received us early in the morning. Highly recommended, with a very good organic cafe in front.
