Location and history give you a real East London experience at my home in Spitalfields!
A few minutes walk away is the world famous Petticoat Lane and Spitalfields market. Spitalfields, once a fruit and vegetable market, is now a thriving contemporary art, fashion and the best of vintage shopping experience. Across the road is the studio of the British artist Tracey Emin. Brick Lane, The Whitechapel Gallery and the internationally acclaimed Shoreditch House and Box Park are all within a short stroll.
Many of London’s iconic buildings such as St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Gate, and The Tate Modern are also within walking distance (or short tube or bus if preferred). I recommend looking at the Transport for London website as it gives lots of information in different languages about travel options and the Oyster card. The close proximity of the Barbican Centre offers a superb range of cinema, music, theatre and dance.
The apartment is easily located a short walk from Liverpool Street Station. In terms of check in/ out we are reasonably flexible and you are welcome to drop off your luggage before the check in time (no earlier than 11am). It is a strict 12 noon departure but you can store luggage if previously agreed.
My home is on the first floor (no lift) of a characterful, well-maintained late 1920s low-rise apartment block. I would describe the area as being vibrant yet safe; a community that I love being part of. While situated off the beaten track you are very much in the centre of a cultural hotspot with many attractions in the immediate vicinity and it is reasonably quiet considering the location.
