Looking for a relaxing great value holiday or short break in Cornwall? Stunning location in St Mellion.
Sitting in 35 acres of maintained grounds, Oakridge is just the place for a peaceful break or a longer residential stay. Surrounded by woodland, the house has floor to ceiling windows to give a wonderful view. A short walk through the golf course and the St Mellion club offers two excellent golf courses as well as bars, restaurants and an Elemis spa for treatments.
This listing is for sole use of the 2 bedroom house.
The area around St Mellion is beautiful, with the coast and Cornish countryside within easy reach. Several National Trust properties and interesting places such as the Eden Project make a good day out. There is good walking country straight from the door with several circular walks with pubs en route.
The St Mellion golf courses offer even seasoned players a certain challenge. Or treat yourself to a spa treatment, there are often special offers.
Oakridge is amazingly peaceful. The first floor balcony is a great place to start and end your day looking out over the grounds and woodland.
It's best to have a car as public transport is quite patchy.
We had a lovely stay at Oakridge. Lynda and Vincent were quick to respond, great to communicate and helpful from the onset.
The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed, we were very happy to use the grill in the garden!
The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful, very lush and green. Otherwise it's not far to drive to the east coast of Cornwall. If you want to a quick dip.
We only stayed for 3 nights, but would have loved to stay longer!
Beautiful home in lovely location. I only wish we could have stayed more than 3 nights. Good base for exploring southeastern Cornwall by car. The view of the stars from the balcony at night is extraordinary -- not since I was last in the desert have I seen so many. Looking forward to going back for a longer stay.
We have felt very comfortable in the house and we liked the location very good. Unfortunately, it has always smelled slightly of oil. This was probably due to the heating in the kitchen. It would be nice if WiFi would be available. Lynda has responded very quickly and easily and was a great host. Thank you Lynda.
Fast response to our original enquiry - and good communications at all times .
Lovely quiet location, good room lay out and furnishings.
Can not comment on the St Mellion golf and leisure as in just a 3 night stay we did not use these facilities at all - but I must say the pool did look good. Do remember to take your bathers and towels tho.
Would be very happy to visit again
I booked this as a last minute back up plan and Lynda responded very quickly and everything worked very smoothly.
The place is in a great location surrounded by woodland and near the spa. The house itself is in a small development of 10 similar houses but when we were there there was only 1 other family around.
The house has everything you need and as a nice touch there are some provisions left for you just in case.
This lovely lodge-style property is exactly as described; we had a great time on our short break here. Highlights were the free use of the excellent spa and swimming pool at the nearby hotel resort (included in the price), the peace and tranquility of the location and the unbelievably time wildlife around the lodge.
The lodge is finished to a very high specification and offered light, spacious and comfortable accommodation for our family of four.
Lynda and Vince were very flexible in accommodating our slightly unusual requirements, and always responded to our messages and queries within a short period of time.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.
Oakridge No 9 was wonderful and Lynda was incredibly helpful at every step! We stayed 4 nights and found it to be a great location. The house has breath-taking views on a clear day, incredibly comfy beds, newly done bathrooms and everything needed to have a clean, peaceful and refreshing stay. We were a mile or so from busy life with wild rabbits, squirrels, owls and the like to cheer our experience. A visit to nearby (National Trust) Cotehele Estate and their working flour mill was a highlight for us. Use of the St Mellion International Resort memberships were a wonderful bonus too. We would recommend to anyone wanting to get away yet wants to be close to tourist activities and great resort membership benefits.
