Becky was a wonderfull host.she welcomed us plesently and gave some good advices about hiking at the area. her place is very cozy, clean and located neer a beautiful hidden river. we highly recomened becky's home for relaxing time ,we had a great time there.
If I had to describe my stay in one word, it would be this: Magical. I could feel a certain energy from this place when I first clicked on the listing, from the first line that I read. Even though I was looking for a place to stay at the last minute (the same day I believe!), I knew I would have to try as hard as I could to book. Turns out it was easy! Becky got back to me immediately and with a very warm acceptance.
Staying at her place in the White Mountains was like returning to the home I never knew I had—the most welcoming atmosphere you can imagine. Plenty of comfortable spaces to read and work, or just relax and recline. Beautiful yards, front and back...but to say there's a back yard is an understatement. It consists of two gardens, flat grassland (if you want to camp out), and the beginning of a trail that goes down to the water. There also happens to be a mountain in the distance, with only nature in between.
As cozy and back-country as it sounds, it's also not far from excellent eateries and the quaint town center of North Conway. Becky had great restaurant and trail suggestions, and she also kindly offered to assist with my camping efforts in her yard (given that I'd never slept under the stars before!). She made my brief stay very special.
As of right now, there are 188 reviews for this listing. I haven't read most of them, but I can assure you that none can be overstated. You can expect an exceptional experience. I, for one, can't wait to head back to Becky's place of refuge and adventure, at the very next chance I get.
Thank-you so much for all your kind words. It was such a pleasure to host you and support your first camping experience! Maybe you will bring a tent or rent mine (the one Caterina used) next time. There is still time for that before winter....
Please come back and visit...
Becky was available to greet us upon arrival, and showed us around the property. She sports an impressive knowledge of everything there is to do and see in her vicinity, and specifically with regard to hiking Mt. Washington (the purpose of our trip). The house was exactly as described - clean, cozy rooms with a nice common area and a peaceful view. The location can't be beat, as it is close to a main road and within driving distance of plenty of attractions, while simultaneously being quiet and homey. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Becky!
I felt she is nice. The room I rent was not clean. Bed was smell that someone don't wash long time.
She didn't reply my text so beginning wasn't so nice. She may have been busy.
When I arrived she told me that she need fix my bed 10am.
Why? Check in time is 1pm.
Everything turned sour.
My house is not a sterile hotel, it is a country home. The sheets are all washed with biodegradable soaps and hung outside in the fresh air to dry. Sometimes people text on the home phone and I cannot receive a text on that number. I thought Akiko was delightful. I told her that she could stay at the house till noon, but I wanted to clean the room by 10 - 11 so that I could be ready for the next guest. She never communicated to me any dissatisfaction or that she had tried to text, etc... I certainly did not judge her appearance, but found her very quiet unless spoken to....
I had a wonderful few days in Conway, enjoying the open spaces and the cooler temperatures prior to my return to Beijing.
Becky was a wonderful host. She greeted me in a very friendly manner, and treated me to her amazing gluten-free muffins each morning I was there. She appears to have a steady flow of interesting and engaging guests, which adds to the B & B atmosphere of her home.
My one regret is that I did not follow her advice not to take the Nelson Crag Trail down off Mount Washington. No one should take this trail, up or down.
If I have an additional minor regret, it's that I did not spend enough time in her backyard, which is truly lovely. Of course, breakfast each morning provided a panoramic view of her yard and all the birds that find their way to her feeders.
I highly recommend her home!
Becky is a warm and generous host. It's seldom you find someone so dedicated to making sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
She was knowledgeable of the surrounding area and ready to help, all you need do is ask.
I have a romantic view of New Hampshire, mountains tall trees and cozy homes. This listing is just that. Surrounded by forests and mountains only a short drive away. You can't go wrong with the location. Being two hours from Burlington and Portsmouth you wont find a cozier and neater place to stay, and you'll be hard pressed to find a better host in the country.
I had a wonderful time and a most generous host, whom I highly recommend to anyone stumbling on this review. I can't wait to visit again.
Becky's home provided use with such an eat, pray, love experience. The variety of people staying with her opened our eyes to a variety of experiences we would like to have ourselves. She was very open, helpful , and knowledgable in guiding our time spent in the white mountain area. Her home was clean, accommodating, and uniquely decorated to provide a peaceful ambiance. Her yard was gorgeous filled with flower gardens and a beautiful view of the mountains. We wish we had more time to spend here to chat with Becky and venture the area. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone.
