Elizabeth and Mike were amazing, kind, helpful hosts. What a great place to stay and wonderful people!
Liz and Mike were great hosts: welcoming and helpful, but not at all intrusive. Their place is in perfect shape with a charming and quiet outdoor area that's great for relaxing between adventures.
If you are looking for somewhere like home to stay around Kona, don't miss this lovely, comfortable, quiet bamboo cottage. Mike and Elizabeth are beautiful people with great hospitality. Mike is truly local, thanks for the information he gave us which saved us a lot of time exploring the amazing island! Elizabeth is a biologist who knows a lot about aroma usage and those magic little potions realeased a lot of pain from sunburn and moskitos :) Also thanks for letting us borrow the snorkels, body surf board and other stuff, we saved some money. We will definitely visit the family again next time!
Cute guest home with great location for exploring the island. Especially nice and close to the airport. Hosts were very gracious sharing knowledge about local beaches, restaurants etc. Bagels and muffins waiting in the freezer for our enjoyment. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed here for two nights and loved every minute. This ohana is exactly as pictured (actually even cuter and cleaner!). Mike and Liz met us when we got there and they were warm and welcoming. There is snorkel equipment, beach chairs, a cooler, towels, and anything else you might need. The outdoor kitchen is charming and clean, and the inside is beautiful, with hard wood floors and French doors. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
We stayed at Mike and Liz's place for 5 days. The house is very beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We landed there late night and the hosts were very kind and gracious, had even stocked breakfast for us for the next morning. They saw our 4 year old and gave us some of their milk and cheese since it was so late when we landed :) They are very warm, knowledgeable and willing to be of assistance whenever they can. The outdoor kitchen deserves a special mention, it added to the "Hawaii" experience.
We borrowed a lot of the beach gear, which was very helpful.
Thank you for making our stay memorable :)
You really couldn't ask for more while staying in Kona. Liz and Mike's sweet little apartment is in a nice quiet neighborhood that is just a hop up the road from the center of everything. Spacious and homey, it was perfect for me while there on a couple days of business. Although I didn't get the chance to utilize the outdoor kitchen very much, it is well appointed and very cool. Loads of channels on the TV will keep you entertained in the middle of the night while your recover from jet lag. Liz and Mike were welcoming and friendly and were gracious enough to allow me a late check out, which was great.

About the Host, Elizabeth
Originally from Canada, I've been living in Kona for over 36 years. I came here for the weather and the outdoor sports. This town is still small enough that you run into friends all over the place. My husband, Michael, and I work hard and try to have fun and enjoy sports when we can. We gain a lot from the 'tourists' as we see through their eyes Hawaii anew all over again. So glad you are coming to the 'BIG ISLAND' ALOHA
