  • The suite is so comfortable and very well equipped. Every little detail is thought to make us feel at home. Absolutely nothing is missing! The outdoor sheltered kitchen is more than complete and gives a very pleasant experience cooking outside, in a real and modern kitchen.

Elizabeth and Michael were very welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay goes smoothly.

The location is also great : tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood, at a few minutes from the center of Kona and a few minutes from beautiful beaches.

  • We loved our stay with Liz and Mike. The place had everything we needed- full kitchen, living room, use of beach towels, boogie boards, sun umbrella. The location was perfect- less than 10 min to kona, close to airport, and close to saddle rd with access to mauna kea. The hosts were fantastic and made sure we were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Liz and Mike were perfect, helpful hosts. The guest house is beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. Every detail is well thought out, and everything is designed w a guests' needs in mind. Best decision we made was to stay at the Bamboo Suite!

  • What a lovely, well appointed place. Everything was there in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry area. Even towels for the beach, snorkel gear, and day coolers for picnics. Thank you so much. We enjoyed our stay, and would not hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone.

  • If we stay in Kona again, we will stay here again. This was absolutely lovely, the best location for us to be close to the airport but still close to all activities. Liz and Mike provided absolutely everything we could possibly need. We had all that we needed for the beach, including towels and sunscreen and boogie boards.

One of the biggest pluses is that Mike works for the Fair Winds company, which does boat cruises of different kinds. We booked a couple of them through him and got a nice discount that way. The deluxe day cruise was where my 10 year old and I fell in love with snorkeling.

We were totally comfortable here, and Liz, Mike and their kids were just absolutely lovely to chat with. Titus the cat made some occasional appearances, too!

    Makahiki hou!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Liz and Mike's place. The suite is comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything a traveller needs. The bed was very comfortable and it was very quiet for sleeping. Liz and Mike are very friendly and helpful with tips and suggestions about the local area. We especially enjoyed our own private garden and outdoor kitchen and dining area attached to our suite. We would gladly return!

  • Liz and Mike were the best hosts we could have hoped for. Their place is in a quiet subdivision, convenient to the west side of Kona plus they'd have everything you would ever need to have a great vacation. They answered all of our questions about the area and suggested wonderful beaches to try out. Mikes company offers snorkelling tours at a discount. We took a day for that and were pleasantly surprised by the experience.

About
Originally from Canada, I've been living in Kona for over 36 years. I came here for the weather and the outdoor sports. This town is still small enough that you run into friends all over the place. My husband, Michael, and I work hard and try to have fun and enjoy sports when we can. We gain a lot from the 'tourists' as we see through their eyes Hawaii anew all over again. So glad you are coming to the 'BIG ISLAND' ALOHA
