Other Things to Note
Breakfast is normally at 8 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. weekends unless special arrangements are made.
Best to remove shoes on entering house. We do! Please come in quietly late at night since we are up early (5 a.m.) to go to the gym before work. There is a small refrigerator for your use in the dining room. Please clean up after yourselves and leave your room as you found it.
This was the second time we've stayed with Dan and Elizabeth. They were excellent hosts as always. Breakfast was great. Dan worked at a bike shop when he was teenager and was kind enough to give our vintage bikes a tune up before our ride. It was a big help.
We stayed for two nights at Elizabeth and Dan's place in Boylan Heights - a neighborhoods we knew we loved from our years living in Raleigh. The house was amazing and the room was great, with a private bathroom attached. We really weren't there much over the weekend but it was a great place to come back to. Unfortunately we didn't ever meet Elizabeth and Dan but they gave great instructions for how to get in, etc. Thanks for a great place to stay!
Elizabeth and Dan were exceedingly gracious hosts that treated us kindly and made us feel as welcome guests in their home. We are very appreciative of their good graces and highly recommend the "Hotel Nicaragua" to other interested travelers.
The accommodations were excellent and as advertised and the neighborhood is quiet, well- cared for and convenient to all the amenities that Raleigh has to offer.
As always, Hotel Nicaragua is amazing and honestly is like a little home away from home. If I can stay there while I'm in Raleigh, it's my first choice!
Hosts are always warm and welcoming. Make sure to check it out!
Another fun visit to Raleigh was made even better by our stay at Hotel Nicaragua. We have stayed here several times and as usual, Dan and Elizabeth made us feel very welcome. Just like coming home. Their lovely home is so comfortable and ideally located to downtown Raleigh. We walked to great restaurants, shops, and galleries, and their neighborhood connects to local trails. Breakfast is always a highlight of our stay.
If you plan to travel to Raleigh, a stay at the Hotel Nicaragua should be your first choice!
I was greeted immediately on arrival and felt very comfortable and relaxed with the hosts. The home was lovely with beautiful hardwood floors, spacious rooms and a lovely, private suite on the first floor for guests. The room was exceptional with the sounds of a ceiling fan and the rain outside. I enjoyed the convenience of being close to Cameron Village and easy access to additional sites. I would definitely stay here again if the situation allows. Thanks so much for a pleasant and peaceful evening. Angela Urquhart
I had a great stay with Elizabeth and Dan. Very nice room in beautifully restored older home. Can't beat location, pretty neighborhood short walking distance to downtown and they were very gracious hosts!

We are professional business owners who now have grown children and empty bedrooms. We get up early and head for the gym each weekday morning. We love our neighborhood and our capital city and look forward to sharing with others. We walk all over the downtown area. Come stay with us in Raleigh!
