Flexible check in and out.
The bed is a double bed with an incredible organic mattress which is a combination of coils with memory foam toped with wool padding and wrapped in bamboo fabric. It is a firm mattress with great support. There is a second single bed tucked under the eves as is in the current pictures. It disappears from view when it is not in use.
The house is located on Euclid Avenue - the downtown edge of the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood - a lushly treed area that is a brief walk from the centre of the city. No need to have a car here.
The house is one of the older homes on the street - originally a store in the middle of a residential block. Built on the orchard lands of the old Gorevale estate, it is now situated right in the middle of the most popular and hip neighbourhoods of Toronto: West Queen Street West, Little Italy, Ossington, Kensington Market, Chinatown and Dundas to name a few.
The room is on the third floor. The whole floor is 400 feet of open concept over looking the living room below. At one end by the living room is my own private spa. here there is a wonderful desk under the skylight with a view of the CN tower where you can work. On the other side of the partition is your large bedroom. At the far end a single bed is tucked under the eve which opens up to the whole room and the view through the sliding glass doors. the comfortable double bed is tucked into an alcove. There are built in shelves and a closet for your clothes.
On the second floor is a new spa washroom - for use by all the guests - curved walls; open spaces; cathedral ceilings; custom mahogany built ins; and a large deck among other features. The living room, dining area, kitchen and deck are common areas for guests.
Public transit is only steps away, but you will be able to walk to most places. It would take you months to try all the restaurants which are a short walk away. There is internet access. Air conditioning when needed. We tend to be fairly quiet.
Caroline (email hidden). Her home is very comfortable and has everything you need, even more. The location is wonderful, you can walk everywhere and if you would rather use public transportation it is close by. The street this time of year is beautiful, tree lined with flowers decorating many front yards.
Awesome first airbnb experience. Caroline is a gem and her house is delightful. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed, good conversation, amazing neighbourhood, accommodating and welcoming host - could not have been better. I will return. Thanks.
Caroline (email hidden) and very accommodating to my late-evening arrival (9:30pm).
House is certainly one of a kind: colourful warm colours, high ceilings (I stayed on the second floor), and modern clean bathroom (stone tiles, efficient toilet - no creaky floors here ;)
Great patios, lots of windows, quiet and overall great place to stay. Will definitely come back again.
Caroline was incredibly nice and really welcoming, the room was comfortable and clean as well as the bathroom.
She was very accommodating regarding the time I came and left and the all experience had a very homie feeling.
I totally recommend this place if you want a laid back, respectful and nice place to stay
Great place with lots of character in a central location. The Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood has a ton of restaurants and bars, and Caroline can offer a local's perspective on what's good.
The flat is fantastic. Although it was a shared apartment, I barely saw the other guests (aside from my folks who stayed in the second floor bedroom) or Caroline. The kitchen is fully equipped so making breakfast in the mornings was easy.
The location is central. During my stay, I walked downtown everyday to attend a conference at the Sheraton. It took 30 minutes to walk there. I never saw the need to take the 505 tram or a taxi. The walk was great because, going east on Dundas, it went straight through China town, the edge of Kensington Market, and then the discovery district. For dinners, I found myself either in Trinity-Bellwoods or further west where there are lots of restaurants. Ossington Avenue became a regular street where I ate.
Overall it was a fantastic trip. I'd definitely stay with Caroline again, maybe when the weather is a little (or a lot) warmer!
Caroline is very friendly and very nice.
Her house is perfectly located, clean and you can meet with people. Caroline is willing to help in any case, and it is wonderfull. Thks to her we had very good time at Toronto. The only point is that my GF was woken up by an other guess having a shower to late. You can park in the street buying a permit on Toronto webpage.
If you are open to have a bedroom in a shared house, it is a place to go defenitly.
I'll go back :)
Caroline's lovely B and B is a keeper.
THE B and B:
Arriving at Caroline's after a long day of traveling is like coming home. The guest rooms are warm, welcoming and attractive. The beds are comfortable and fitted with soft comforters and good quality sheets and bedding. The atmosphere is open, peaceful and quiet, with plenty of light. The B and B is set up so that guests have their own kitchen, bathroom and living room in a beautifully renovated space. The kitchen is equipped with all you need, the adjoining dining room is spacious, and the living room is open to the top floor's cathedral ceilings. The photos don't do it justice. It really is beautiful.
The home is situated on a quiet street. It is a 2-minute walk to the Dundas Streetcar, so it is an easy trip to the subway line. A short stroll leads to the wonderfully eclectic parts of Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue. Many unique shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and galleries are within easy walking distance.
Caroline is an amazing host. She is perceptive, gracious and flexible, and has an uncanny way of understanding her guests various needs and tendencies. She knows the city and its services very well, and is generous providing information when needed. Caroline is mindful of her guests' various schedules and has created a guest environment that is respectful and friendly. If you have the occasion to spend time with her, you will find she is a fantastic conversationalist.
We will definitely be back.
I had an enjoyable stay in this spacious and beautiful apartment. It is very conveniently located near shops and cafes on Queen St W and College St, as well as the 505 streetcar to downtown. Caroline is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding neighborhoods and is very conversational.
I had perfect 10 days at Caroline's unique old house. The quote that comes to my mind is "Don't judge a book by the cover". I lived in the upper floor, comfy bed, lots of space and a view. The open concept without door didn't bother at all, no noise nor privacy issues. Caroline keeps her place organized, beautiful remodeled bathroom is a hit. I loved it as well as the spacy deck, though due to the temperatures my sunbathing was rare and short. But therefore I did some "imunsystem hardening" walking barefoot in the snow.
Caroline does one thing which makes Airbnb what it is supposed to be - my personal opinion of course -, she shares not only her house but also her favorite places or latest experiences in food, shopping or sightseeing. It gives you exactly this add on which makes you feel more than a local and less than a tourist. For me the icing on the cake. Thank you very much!
For starters, Caroline was lovely and very knowledgeable about Toronto, I would recommend checking in with her before you do anything because she is guaranteed to know the best kept secrets, histories and prices in Toronto for food, activities and entertainment.
The space we had was the loft room, which was very spacious and had a really comfortable double bed. The space is set up in a way to have maximum privacy, however it needn't be as to be honest we felt like we had the whole house to ourselves even though there were 2 guests staying in 2 other rooms.
The bathroom is great, hot water never ran out, and the place was overall kept very very clean. There is a fully functional kitchen with lots of space, and all utensils needed.
Lastly, the location was great, you step outside and take one 2 minute tram ($3) to get into the main shopping downtown area, and all the trendy areas are in walking distance or a short cab ($5-10). Lots of cool little bars and restaurants nearby as well.
