Steve was as before extremely helpful, even providing me with a coat against the freezing temperature, and an electric blanket! I'm very grateful.
Notwithstanding that Steve was out of town, he made sure that a (very friendly) friend met us at his apt, gave us keys, showed us around, made recommendations for restaurants. Steve was available by phone & text, and was very responsive. His apt is perfect for enjoying the fun, friendly, foodie ambience of Park Slope as well as being a 4-block walk to the subway that takes you into Manhattan in 20 minutes. We highly recommend his apt, but hope he doesn't get so popular that we don't get to stay there again!
Steve was a great host and accepted our request that we submitted less than 24 hours before checking in. His apartment is comfortable and conveniently located. Would happily stay here again!
Steve is a fantastic host, and he has the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. He shares the very nice kitchen and sleeps downstairs in a studio when you're there. Two things stand out besides the great bed:
1. The lovely private garden accessible from the bedroom, and
2. The beautiful art and very classy taste in Steve's decorating.
I will definitely stay here in the future. Steve is trustworthy and very intelligent. He gives you space when you want it, and he knows the area very well and is happy to converse if you wish. A+
We found ourselves needing last minute accommodations in Brooklyn. Steve Pauley was great at communicating. His place was clean, sophisticated and thoughtfully decorated ith Steve's original artwork. The bed was very, very comfortable. Steve was a gracious host, and although he moved into his basement art studio during our stay, we only saw him once or twice. He is polite, gracious and inobtrusive, The flat was unexpectedly quiet and had a charming private garden area. It is a ground floor flat, an easy 4 blocks from the subway at Barclay Center, and accessible to innumerable eateries and shops in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens..
Really enjoyed staying with Steve. When I found out it was his first time hosting I was a bit nervous, but everything was great! He had clean sheets on the bed and a plethora of towels in the clean bathroom, fruit in the kitchen, and fast wireless internet. There isn't much light in the apartment but the bedroom is quiet and accesses a little courtyard for fresh air.
The area is pretty busy and not the quaint Park Slope neighborhood I had imagined. However -- I had the best Thai food I've ever had a block away, and subsequently got the best manicure-pedicure I've ever had, for only $20! All within a block from Steve's place (on 5th Ave). Steve invited me to hear his band play down the avenue and has the apartment filled with amazing art he's made himself. This is a classic Brooklyn experience and I highly recommend it.
I am a sculptor and a photographer. I've lived in this duplex condo for the past nine years and absolutely love it! I work with museums and galleries throughout New York. I've also been a musician my entire life. I play the guitar, mandolin and banjo. I love playing music with new people. So, if you play an instrument lets jam!
