Our private cottage is nestled in the most interesting neighborhood in Dallas. We're close to the fun & eclectic Bishop Arts District, the award winning Kessler Theater, and many of the City's best restaurants.
If you're coming through Dallas come check out Oak Cliff. Our house is easy walking distance to many of the great features that makes our area fun and unique. There's a eclectic mix of cafes, shops, bars, music, and fine dining a stone's throw away. If you don't feel like walking, we've got loaner bikes that you can use to cruise the neighborhood.
Accommodations are in a tastefully finished backyard cottage. It has its own bathroom, wireless internet, and lovely views of the garden. There is a kettle and mini-fridge for your use. Feel free to use the BBQ grill and fire ring and make our backyard oasis your home away from home.
You'll be welcomed with cold beers and plenty of privacy.
FYI - There is an outdoor cat and hens in the backyard, but no animals live in the guest quarters. Downtown Dallas and the convention center are approximately 4 miles away (about 30 min by bus, 10 min drive). We have a bus stop 2 blocks from our house which runs to downtown. The DLink bus service is also very close to our place. On street parking is safe and easily available if you bring a car.
This is an amazing place in an amazing location in an amazing neighborhood. I wish I hadn't been working the whole time or I would have spent more time exploring. Upon hearing I am a bit of a coffee snob, Zac suggested I visit Davis Street Espresso, where I tasted some of the best iced coffee I've ever had. The room is so neat and clean and really makes you feel at home. Perfect for the weary traveler or adventurous vacationer. And there are chickens!
Really comfortable backyard hideaway in a very fun neighborhood, walking distance to bars, restaurants, galleries, major music venue, and easy jump to downtown. Hosts are totally unobtrusive, very cool. Highly recommended -- this was my second visit, and I expect to be back.
Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at Zac's place due to a glitch in our calendars. However, I did meet him, and he was very polite and assured me that my fiancé and I could stay at any time. We look forward to it.
Zac made it SO EASY to check in and out, had helpful and timely suggestions for local eateries and was pleasant to interact with. The place was a lovely little bungalow with privacy but within walking distance of a great hub of some local culture and yummies of all kinds. I've already reserved my next stay to the city with them!
This was, so far, the cutest little place I have stayed on a work trip. I felt super relaxed and at home. The extra space heater was a must, as the weather dipped a bit while I was there...but that is just how things are in winter ;) There was tea, coffee, talk radio, wi-fi, and fruit to be had in the room...as well as the sweetest little neighborhood..I took several cold walks ;) I have already instructed several of my co-workers to check out this area next time they are in Dallas and tired of the same-ol. Bishop Arts District had several restaurants/shops and GOOOOD coffee at Oddfellows. The bar a couple of blocks away also had a lovely staff, food, and cocktails. I will Definitely stay here if I return. Great, relaxed host, and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect.
We loved the Casita and Oak Cliff very much. Zac is a perfect host and we felt at home.
A lot of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood and Zac gave us a lot of good tips.
The location is perfect to enjoy Dallas, much better than staying in downtown.
I knew nothing at all about Dallas when I planned this last-minute trip. I am so glad I stayed in Oak Cliff. Although I have learned it may prompt the "Oak Clif Oh" when talking to other people in Dallas - apparently not everyone has experienced its charms-this neighborhood is awesome! Oak Cliff a Brooklyn meets East Hollywood vibe -- definitely not what I would have expected. Zac and Heather's guide to the neighborhood was incredibly useful. The cheese-eating chickens clucking in the background were very charming, if not as enamored of me as I was of them. When Because it was an unusually cold night, Zac and Heather offered a second space heater. (I recommend this.) They are an awesome couple and we had a wonderful time talking. I also borrowed one of their many bikes to explore the area, which was super fun.
Thank you so much for the hospitality and cleanliness!
Easy checkin a close enough to downtown dallas
Great place to stay. Convenient location and plenty of space. Knowledgeable and friendly hosts. Thanks for making this a great trip!
Zac's casita was very cozy and comfortable. We were very happy to stay so close to all of the shops and restaurants. The chickens were very funny to me. Overall. it was exactly what we were expecting.
